i was htink about all the different options and its clear that whatever happens, there is not going to be a happy ending. granted, mac dying would be a sadder than some, but its not impossible because whatever happens, someones getting hurt. if caroline and mac end up together then guy will be heartbroken, and if its all a dream or in the coma then it means that guy hasnt changed, plus it means that the series didnt happen and that mac never got the chance to properly fall in love with caroline and it means that they never got to be together... ok trailing on a bit now, but basically im saying that mac dying would be a solution (albeit a sad one) since guy and caroline could be together and there wouldnt be one person who had to be left out. she also wouldnt have to pick between them (although 99 per cent of us would hands down pick mac, i think the decision for her is meant to be more difficult which is shown in the way its scripted). can you imagine if there was another series with mac and guy and shed had to chose one and they had to work together how cud it be funny? really sorry that this argues that mac will die but it does appear to be a solution which would tie everything up.

i agree. i think that the biggest reason that guy wants caroline so much is that she keeps rejecting him. one hell of a case of unrequited lust!
therefore, ending could be that guy realises he doesn't really love caroline, and he dumps her, rather than the other way around. then she could go off w/ mac, and everyone would be happy!

i don't think sue and guy would work out well. i think they'd torment each other and one of them would probably end up strangling the other and going on the run in a stolen ambulance. or something like that anyway.
as i said before, i think that they should write in mac's younger sister who he tells to flirt with guy to torture him and stop him thinking about caroline without telling him that mac is her brother. mac thinks that guy will be disgusted when he finds out that he has been lusting after a gingre and a macartney, but this turns round and bites mac in the arse because guy falls in love with her and they run off together.

yeah, and that bit where they pull away from each other as they go in to kiss suggests that they both know that it's not right. caroline's disappointed that mac didn't show because he's the one she really wants and guy's a little guilty because he knows this, but he's also very, very horny.

I don't think Guy and caro should stay together, not only as I am an avid Mac fan, but the kiss at the station was more awkward then passionate. I really think (and hope) that Mac and caro will be together, they have to be! I think Guy is more infatuated with caro rather then in love with her, also it now might be an issue of once you have got what you want, you no longer want it. I think there is some sort of chemistry between guy and sue - and I don't want either of them to be sad, so perhaps they should get together. However, one thing is definite - MAC MUST NOT DIE.
I dont think there can be a happy ending for Guy I'm afraid. Even if Caroline stays with him he still loses out because he knows she doesnt really love him. It's sad but true.

Guy already knows Caroline doesn't love him - otherwise he wouldn't try so hard all the time.
He tried to stop Mac asking her a question in theatre in case he asked her to marry him. Guy knows how Caroline feels about Mac. Also he was less than enthusiastic when she 'gave in' and agreed to marry him after Mac didn't show up.
It will not be long before they part company and Caroline will be back with Mac, and Guy will either remember Mac told him there was a new blonde in ENT or he'll be sniffing round Sue - the ONLY woman who does actually understand him
