Afterall, if its got Mark Heap in it it's got to be funny!
Apparently, there is a screening at the ICA on the 20th of April that has Q&A with Mark Heap, Jasmin Greig and the director. Just google ICA and captain eager.
hate to pee on the parade, but Empire say no! The review is as follows:
quote:
Plot A pastiche of Dan Dare-style '50s sci-fi.
Review Newcomer Simon DaVison’s film is a Dan Dare pastiche, a deliberately sloppy parody of the naffest of ’50s sci-fi.
DaVison seems to draw his inspiration more from Ed Wood - and not in a good way. He may be brimming with enthusiasm, but he’s lacking even the whisper of an idea of what makes an entertaining movie.
Mistaking overacting for comedy, his predilection for harsh electronic noises will have you reaching for the Paramol. This should have been a 10-minute short - if that. At 90-odd minutes, it’s tooth-squeakingly unbearable.
Verdict Terrible, just terrible.
They only gave it one star, it has to be pretty bad to get that.
Oh, fyi, it's Tamsin, not Jasmin
