Looked like an exit to me...I thought she was ok...but she never seemed as part of it as the rest of them...she always felt slightly on the outside somehow...almost like in a different show.

Though crucially she doesn't seem to have told Mac that Caroline has a terminal genetic disease.

Next week in the Radio Times it says a new member of staff upsets the apple cart. I guess this is to replace Angela.
So could it be Holly starting work at the hospital - or is that too much of a coincidence?

Well.....Sally Philips from Smack the Pony (and Bridget Jones) will be playing Holly, Mac's ex. This is gonna cause even more complications.....

However, from the last series she is supposed to be engaged and pregnant....

Yeah, she was always the spectre at the feast where Mac and Caro were concerned - the one thing guaranteed to wipe off the smile lurking at the corners of Mac's mouth ... could be interesting And I LOVE that Sally Phillips is going to be her.

I don't think Angela will be missed that much, as she was the only one who didn't have that much of an impact on the show. I think she is definitely gone though, as she's doing some TV series in America.

What happened to her ex-boyfriend who drove the taxi?

Ah, sun-dried tomato man with the cute nose ... he went to become a doctor in the 1950s! Don't know about that character; maybe the dancing at the party was the final straw, don't think we saw him after that!

Well, we know that Mac makes some sort of 'gesture' towards Caroline in the last episode, so I don't think Holly will be around long.
