Am I the only one who thinks the person who composed themusic should be congratulated as much as the actors and the other crew? The music in this is absolutely FANTASTIC!!! especially the music that TG calls the 'falling in love' music. It's really beautiful!
I think there was a similar thread about the music a while back and I believe that it was said that the composer had won awards for the GW music, but I can't remember details!
You’re definitely not alone in loving the music. Some of it is so wacky and I find myself humming away to it! I think in any TV/Film, music plays an important role in creating the mood of a scene – and this is really evident in Green Wing. I’ve just been watching EP5 S1 again (for like the millionth time) and I love the scene where Statham goes to see Lyndon and rubs his a*se along the desk. At the beginning of that scene there’s some really clever usage of music where Lyndon asks him “is this about Joanna” and Statham does this kinda weird nodding movement along to the music – the film is sped up at the same time and the overall effect is a masterpiece!
I think the music is great too and often find myself running tunes through my head at work. My favourite pieces are the score when Mac and Caroline finally kiss again in episode 9 (series1), the scene where Rachel is mimicking Stevie Wonder is in the office and I totally love the scene that Hols Bols was just referring to regarding Allan in Lyndons office...........magic!
They really should release a soundtrack, they would make a fortune!
However, one thing I've noticed about the green wing music is that it's made up of little blocks of music that JW puts togther so the music fits the scene. You can here this quite well in the scene where Guy eats the umbilical cord. The guitar music is sorta mixed up with keyboard music. Sorry, it's just I'm obsessed with that music.
So it would be a bit difficult to release a soundtrack. I'm sure they'll find some way tho
yeah I love the music too. It's so funkeeeh. I was thinking it would be great to have a sound track, but I'm not certain whether =it would really be the sme without the visuals, like alan's shakey head thing.

the composer did win an award for it. and in the commentaries the editor seems a bit bitter about it because he said that its only good because he set it to the speed of the action...
i like the music when alan realises that joanna thinks she's pregnant. and the little bit that goes "ooh la di da di" when caromac have their 'proper' kiss

Oh my god! Last night I heard the Bran Van 3000 song – Drinking in LA and is it just me or does that sound exactly like the music used in GW?? I’m thinking S1 – EP5 the jaw-droppingly romantic “toilet kiss” music but it features in other scenes too.
Is it actually a part of that song, or does it just sound a lot like it? I checked the credits at the end of that episode last night and I couldn’t see the band credited so that leads me to believe it’s just very similar…
