Umm, since "the next girl" in this instance is me, that's not saying much!

And yes, you'd think there was only so much you can say. And it's been said. A hundred different ways!

TAMSIN is FAB! I just re-watched S1 Ep3 last week and the scene of Caro outside trying to light up a ciggy is just superb! All that frustration, played so brilliantly. And when it dissolved into helplessness it was genuinely moving although still very funny. Whoever cast her did a job of perfection.

Yes Talespinner! Tamsin plays the frustrated woman so well! Her character in BB was quite similar imo. Although Fran is maybe a little more self assured than Caroline.

I think Caroline is typical of a lot of women really a lot of things she says in GW scenes are very true , for example when she cant sign Angela's card because she has to have something clever to say. I really hope in the last episode that Caroline gets HER happy ending whatever that may be because Tamsin has played the underdog to perfection.

A “Mac Floozy” – that’s a brilliant name!! I think we all are but there’s only so many times you can say it without getting bored!! I’ve only been on the forum a week and I’m already beginning to get disillusioned… I feel sorry for all the members that have been hear for yonks!!

Anyway…Ooops! I’m so sorry but my mind has wondered back on to the wrong topic hasn’t it?

Tamsin is brilliant… Her comic timing is impeccable but she does “serious” extraordinarily well also!

Stop talking about the ginger one in Tamsin's thread Hols!

I think she's (Fran) is far more self centred and bolshy than Caro, so it's kudos to Tamsin for playing her as someone we can still like. She's great in the hen night episode, and no-one can say she was a likeable character in that one! But the frustration is definitely there too, particuarly when she's learning to play the piano (my fave episode EVER!) although she does give up, whine a lot and then end up cheating!
Nope, not a nice character but I still wanna be her best mate, so great stuff by Tamsin there!

I think we can still relate to Fran there because we all have that inner bitch screaming to get out.
I love the fact that Fran is such a drunk too. Sitting around and drinking Merlot all day with the boys is such fun ,lets be honest

I haven’t seen BB – I’m really not very cultured when it comes to cult comedy … How depressing!! I’m thinking maybe I should invest in the DVD coz I love Tamsin and Bill Bailey – the collection is on Amazon for £22… I’ve just bought a house so I’m feeling really rather broke – do you think it’s worth the spondaroonies??

oh yes! It's a great show , completely nuts and perfect escapism. If you find Bailey funny then you will like his charactor. It fits in with his style of humour massively.

oh yes i also think its worth buying i loved the scene in series 2 where she drunk and imitates bill bailey and dylan moran and also in series 3 the party episode where shes singing an irish song and dancing she plays such a funny drunk

if you're not sure there are LOADS of clips on you tube.

TG is so good in it, plus she actually gets dates!
i love the bit with the BB dolls. on that place we-may-not-mention, there is a short video with the dolls instaed of the characters, where manny gets to go outside...

my mums buying me the complete box set of all three series if i dont do anything green wing related over the exam period (started 3 weeks ago, ends next thursday), but hey, what she doesnt know wont hurt right?

although i have to admit im feeling a little guilty...

In an attempt to get Green Wing out of my system I have been watching Black Books again I love it its a genius program. The 3 characters work so well together.
I think my fav thing about TG is the fact that she plays characters with issues which girls can really relate to (OK maybe not having two hot men fighting over you (3 if you count Martin)) yet you can see her cracking up in so many eps of GW and BB its nice to nobodies perfect!

shes easy to identify with becuase she seems so human and shes not tooooooo beautiful (dont get me wrong i think shes beautiful just in an unconventional way).

but as for bb getting gw out of your system, firstly um sort of doesnt work coz TG is in both. secondly if youre on this forum it hasnt worked!!!

I saw Dylan Moran a couple of weeks ago at the Hall for Cornwall - it was just like listening to Bernard Black rant on for an hour and a half. Genius!

Well we don't often get "real" people down here in this neck of the woods, so it was good! I had to then rewatch all the Black Books for him, then all the GW for TG - I think I need to do more healthy outdoor activities!

get a portable dvd player or a laptop. then you can watch them outside!

Now that's what I call thinking outside the box!
