I think Caroline's great but there are so many unanswered questions. We know a little about Macs past, i.e Holly etc and that Guy was abonded by Joanna when he was born.
The questions are probably meaningless but might help explain more about what makes Caroline, Caroline.
There is no mention of any past relationships or why she moved into her brothers house. Why she moved in the first place. Maybe there are a few skeleton like a bad relationship? She seems so desperate to be loved even liked. Maybe she's been put down to many times that the minute a guy shows interest (she has 3 at the moment) she loses it.
Maybe in the final episode she will get over her demons and let herself be realise Mac is probably te least unrealible of all.

She did say she hadnt had sex for a long time. She drinks when things dont go her way. And when I said why did she move, maybe she was running away from her past cos things were too difficult. Maybe she'll do it again?

maybe she is in here brother and sister shadow they both have ther own home and she doesnt. maybe they have good job. being the youngerest try to acieve what they have. she is scared if she stay single much longer she wont be able to have children and she want children really badly. also she no here and mac have chemistry but feels he is unavailable. every time she gives him a chance and something happen which hurt her and each time it hurts more. she thinks guy care about her. he already lives with her. he is less complicated ands its very easy with him. also she wont get hurt with him as she doesnt love.
i agree! we really dont know much about her!! she does seem a bit longing for a relationship tbh, and she does seem to get down in the dumps very easily, i would like to see someone from her past in the last ep.

If they did bring someone back it would have to be more of a painful reminder than a threat to her current relationships. Maybe make Mac more determinded to prove to Caroline he's the one.

Citing Caroline as an underachiever is a bit hard when you consider that she has an excellent job as a surgeon in a very male dominated field. Her sister only lives in a tower block in East London (with rescued pigs)
If Mac was prepared to move to Sheffield for a new job opportunity, maybe the only reason for a move was in readiness for her new job? A young single and fancy free type can up sticks when they feel like it and move to pursue a career. I would.
But you are right about possible hidden secrets. She also turns to nicotine when stressed - remember those sentimental lungs!!
Caroline's character can be seen as a foil for the guys, creating tensions and interplay as they centre around her, bouncing off her and each other - which may be why her character is slightly less evolved than the others - she is the core around which the other characters rotate and reveal more about themselves.

haha yea, well said! yea i agree, she seems to change her mind very often - one minute agreeing to think about marrying guy, and the next telling mac that guy means nothing to her...i dont always understand some of the decisions that she makes tbh

I dont think she's underachieved, her character certainly isnt thick. Maybe there is something about her past that makes her decide to do one thing and suddenly change her mind and do something different the next to protect her from getting hurt, which she usually ends up doing anyway,and quite often. I feel sorry for her not getting what she wants.

i didnt mean she underachievd. its like this my mum all my life put me down and told me that i would become nothing and my brother would be really rich. he is 4 year younger than me. when i did my gcse i passed all eight c or above and i got grounded for not doing good enought. being thick ect. when my brother did his exams he got all f's and he got taken out for dinner to celebrate. 10 years on i am happly married got a lovely house i have to buisness a building company and i am a childminder. my brother even works for me. but my mum still favers him and says that he will be a millionaire one day. i know she talk nonecence but when ever i am around her i feel inadiquate and insecure.
Maybe she's a Libran - longing for romance but can be fickle and indecisive! I'm allowed to say that cos I'm one too. Deep down, she wants to be with Mac so she's not really in 2 minds. When next to the Angelas of the world who seem to put her down though, I think she feels she's underachieved in a few areas. As much as we don't know about her, she's the one person I can sort of relate to!

But he DOES accept her - she just thinks the worst. Mac loves Caroline, he's put up with her kissing Guy all over the place because he understands she's insecure. So is he, which is why he didn't ask her to marry him. But once he thinks he's lost her for good he'll change his tack.

I think its just frustration. I keep screaming at the telly for them to just get it together. I was slow to get into Green Wing cos I always missed it cos of my shifts but I've really gotten attatched to the characters. Its like watching a friend mess up or a friend who just cant get it together enough to tell the other how they feel.

i think caroline feels undervalued. Shes got a great job, but feels she has to prove herself, and people being indecisive around her make her feel like she is doing something wrong, she goes to great lengths to please others. Take for example, the pigs thing. Mac never seems to be able to give her a straight answer, so she is constantly unsure of how he feels. When he goes cold on her, she runs off to guy for security, when hes hot on her, she cannot get enough. All mac needs to do is to tell her straight how he feels, because if he doesn't, caroline will get even more insecure about their relationship, and turn to guy!

I think it annoys me more because you can tell that they are meant to be. They would never intentionally hurt each other. Its always outside factors that come between them. And yeh, if Mac just told her straight how he felt and Caroline wasnt so confused/vunerable/unsure then they could say goodbye to all the bad stuff and be together.

But then I cant get rid of the feeling that theres something about Caroline we are yet to find out. A missing piece in the puzzle which would finally make Mac realise she is the one.

Mac, Martin and Guy have all fallen for her, she got to date hot new guy Jake and even Statham cites her as his fantasy sex partner when trying to irritate Joanna. I know Boyce has the lovely Kim (and the filthy texting primary teacher) but how come he has been so immune to the lure of the lovely Caroline??

Cos Boyce obivoiusly values Macs friendship. He was honest and told him things were cool between him and Caroline and not bad like Guy said.

Boyce does like Caroline - he's never played any tricks on her or Mac like he has the others. And he tried to help her in series 1 by saying Angela could be her new lodger. He also told her Guy was the bigger scumbag when asked.
And did you see episode 7 when Caroline was leaving the restaurant, Kim was sat on Boyce's lap and they both looked a bit concerned she was going without Mac.
I think Boyce will have something to do with Mac and Caroline getting back together. Boyce was so excited when Mac came out of the coma, running round the hospital telling everyone and Guy just shrugged his shoulders.
