just thought id get some doctor who talk going on here, as there are plenty of fans lurking around Smile just going to offer my thoughts on whats maaaaaybe in store for the rest of the season? have to say im very impressed by eppy 1 and 3!

will we ever see the doctors home plannet? i hope we visit it in a dorment phase sometime in this series, but perhaps the finale could feature the time war? with the doctor breaking that BIG RULE OF TIME TRAVEL [tm] that ytou cant interfere with the past events, and he cant save people who died in the past. [remember rose and her dad? i certainly think some inspiration was taken for life on mars from that eppy!]

im thinking if he meets another timelord who then dies on his watch [remember the face of bo said he is NOT alone, and the doctor said he DIDNT mean martha]
perhaps losing this proverbial time lord will inspire him to take action and interfere with the past [it is why rose interferded with time]. this time the doctor will defeat the daleks in the time war, but because the daleks were meant to win, it will have a nasty effect, and a big cliffhanger for a fourth season???

I don't have much to say as i'm new to it.

Tbh, i mainly watch it for the rather hot David Tennant hehe Big Grin It makes me laugh sometimes at the randomness of it all. Like the cats in today's episode. Cracked me up...I'd be like Tamsin Greig was when she was in it; Corpsing like a pro!

Having said that, i like how amoungst all of it there's some great storylines between the Doctor and his assistant and how long he'll last/if he's the last timelord etc. It keeps you on your toes! I just have to tell myself that they won't die 'cos it's only the start of the series, and there'd be no-one to replace them. Kinda ruins the tension but ho-hum!

see i do love the doctor for the light heartedness it can bring... but i highly recommend spooks for unpredictibility... it eclipses james bond, as you never know if one the characters will be killed, as they replace them so often, due to the work of a spy...

Yeah, I loved tonights episode, I've only been watching since Christopher E. was the Doctor, the rest was a little before my time!

Though I think that Martha, the new companion, is really good, I miss Rose so much!! Frown

personally, i dont think the writers have produced the same chemistry [or rather the actors]as billie and chris... just my opinion, i also think john simm and the girl who plays annie in life on mars could be the doctor and assistant... what d'you think?

this is true but i've spent too many years not being scared of them. Throw some water over them and they'll rust up! what do they run on unleaded or diesel?

Plus all i can see is my compost bin ( know affectionatly as the darlek) down my garden

all i'm saying is yes the special effects are better now but i think that the jon pertwee, tom baker episodes are better script wise. At least then the doctor left earth ,ok last week he went to see shakespere next week new york (didn't see this weeks)

What happened to other planets ( even if you knew they were filmed on a beach in devon) plus the cliff hangers were great, it used to take 3 weeks for a story to finish and each week you were left to wonder what would happen.

Like most of life it's been dumbed down for the masses

i agree to a certain degree there, its mainly ligh t viewing, and in the light of life on mars and lost seems knowehere near the depth, but when the show reahces the last 2 or 3 eppys it does get interesting i have to say

at this point can i bring up the latest robin hood compared to the michael praed/jason connery version one had plotlines the other you were waiting for them to pull out their mobile phones! it was like the melrose place / oc version why bother unless you're going to do it properly.

Doctor Who is going the same way plkease go and watch the original (and best) from william hartnell to peter davidson cos you don't know what you're missing til then. The doctor was never full of jokes and mischief he used to be sarcastic and nasty as well

this proverbial time lord

are you by any means implying captain jack? cos he cant die yet, quite simply because then the next 2 series of torchwood wouldnt make sense if he was dead.
but how many times do they have to go to new york? i want to see mars or somewhere with a name that he cant say 'cos he scottish (jadoon platoon upon the moon) tee hee hee that was just mean!
soon they are going to the end of the universe which should be quite fun, but thats after they go to cardiff (again),
