Im not sure if I’m imagining this, so I thought I’d ask around to see if anyone agrees with me, but from a number of observations:
I think Tamsin is quite attracted to Mr Rhind-Tutt. [Not in any ‘serious’ way obviously coz she’s married – as, I imagine, are a few ladies on this forum who contribute to the ‘JRT’ threads! ]
REASONS: I’ve noticed that she often has a cute ‘misty’ look in her eyes when they have a scene together, even when their characters aren’t supposed to be attracted to one another yet in ‘the plot’. Also she has an interesting, kind of lustful mannerism that she makes with her lips, where her mouth is slightly open and she just gently pulls on her bottom lip with her top teeth – and occasionally sometimes her voice changes to a higher pitch – as in the ‘Gone to Devon’ scene.
I’ve noticed that non of these mannerisms occur when she is doing a scene with Steven Mangan – even when her character is supposed to be quite interested in him as a ‘love interest’, so one would expect the same to occur.
It could just be very clever, subtle acting by Tamsin – but I’m not convinced. Especially considering the ‘effect’ Mr JRT seems to have on the ladies…
Does anyone agree with me on this – or am I starting to see things in my old age???

yes, i agree. i will elaborate tomorrow, when i am less caffeine-deprived.

I didnt pick that up from the DVD commentaries but who knows.
I did wonder why Tamsin's hubby turned up on the final day of filming with Tamsin and Steve and made a show of kissing her infront of Steve and the reporter on the platform. My suspicious mind made me think the other way to you that he was a little jealous of Tamsin & Steve's working relationship and was scenting his patch so to speak.

No I'm not talking about the DVD commentaries - its during the actual programme episodes themselves that I noticed these 'mannerisms'.
Its subtle stuff and therefore she's not exactly going to give anything away during a commentary when the whole world and its mother could hear her ...

I think that may be true, like in Mangan's case, but JRT is eye candy, but not very funny. If you listen to DVD commentary ep5, she's kind of giggly and girly. Not like that with Mangan.

I would agree totally with that point if she did the same mannerisms with Steven, because he is actually very funny - but she doesn't.
She does it nearly all the time with JRT and generally his scenes aren't that funny - classy and cool, yes - but not laugh-out-loud stuff... [Im not sure 'misty' eyes could be called corpsing either?]

No, no, no...now I do! I've been watching Black Books lately, and although Tamsin corpses quite a lot (though who wouldn't with such hilarious co-stars?) there's none of the lip-bitey foggy-eye-osity malarkey.
I also watched 'Travel Writer' (ep05s03); and she DOES do it with the visiting explorer; none other than our own fair JRT.

Hmm...
Ah Ha!!! I never thought to compare her other, non-GW related performances when she was with JRT - nice work!
I think we may be onto something here!

Is there any of her work where she's supposed to be in "lurve" which doesn't involve JRT? Could watch that and see if she's similarly misty-eyed, in which case its her acting. If not, then it must be peculiar to JRT!

Yes, but the script calls for her to fancy Jason Hamilton, but not Bernard (curiously) or Manny (less curiously).

Yes there is - In Green Wing no less:
The script calls for he to quite fancy Guy equally, or perhaps more, than Mac at one point in Series 1 - and as stated earlier, there would appear to be non of the 'misty-eyed-lip-pulling-ness' around Steven...
Which film were JRT & TG supposed to be in together - I cant remember the name??
