Chapter 21

Kris went to Jess in her room to console her. When he went in she was crying uncontrollably.

Jess: Kris whats wrong with me? What have i done?

Kris: Jess you’ve done nothing wrong....

Jess: Then why wont my supposed best friend even acknowledge that i live here !

Kris: I don’t know jess but just ignore her , shes being a real cow and you deserve better than her. Look ill speak to her when we get back.

Jess: Kris don’t i want her to talk to me because she wants to , not because shes forced.

She still couldn’t control the tears from slipping out of her eyes uncontrollably. She felt like she’d been stabbed in the back and her heart ripped out. She always thought she could confide in zoe about everything but recent events had shown otherwise. Even kris had begun to cry as he thought about it; zoe hadn’t been there for jess , she had been swanning off clubbing and shopping with zack while her friend could be dying for all she knew. How could she have been so heartless as to deny her friend her possible last moments with friends. At that moment there was a knock at the door.

Kris: The doors open!

Both of them half expected to be zoe or zack but it wasn’t. It was Natalie. At least she was always there for them both. She had a great look of shock on her face. She walked over and kneeled beside them both.

Natalie: Oh my god whats wrong with you two.

She held them both in her arms , one on either side , both just fell to her shoulder crying. Right come on both of you were running late you can tell me about it in the car. She gave them both tissues and told them to buck up joking around with them. They loved being in natalies company , she could never say a harsh word about anything or anyone unless she became really eg that moment with kris at the hospital. They loved that about her though because she always knew how to cheer up a messy situation and always saw a way through things.

Natalie: Right , come on were in the car now so whats up?

Jess didn’t feel up to talking so kris explained everything. How jess hadn’t heard from zoe or zack in weeks. How they just ignored her whenever kris gave her the phone to speak to them. And that now they were back both of them expectedto be fine around jess and speak to jess but the they acted the same as those weeks they had away ; they blanked her and acted as if she was a figment of their imaginations , not really there. This made Natalie go a bright shade of purple, you could tell she was fuming with anger.

Natalie: Right ,im going to have to have words with them when i bring you guys back the dorms.

Jess: No don’t nat please

Natalie: No im sorry jess but ive got to , im not going to have you be miserable living back at the flats just because of two people who cant handle their own feelings so they take it out on the victim in all this. There meant to be there for support but all they can do is ignore you and its not right! There just giving you more stress and its not doing you any good is it! Whatever either of you say im going round with you guys later and there going to have a piece of my mind theyve got no right to treat you the way they did!

Kris: Maybe shes right jess..

Jess: Nat please don’t its probably my fault , i did leave without giving good reason and only leaving a note

Kris: Jess come on you had good reasons , Natalie and i realise that even if they don’t.

Natalie: This aint right jess , theyve got you thinking its your fault and its not , its theirs. Im not having any of my friends being put down and feeling horrible about themselves because of a pair of intimidators basically. I don’t know how you can call them friends.

At this point they arrived at the hospital , later than they would normally arrive , but then again Natalie wasn’t acting like a boy racer today , they needed the long drive anyway to get everything out in the open

Chapter 22

Now that they had arrived at the hospital , they sat in the waiting area waiting for jess’ name to be called out. They had only been waiting about ten minutes so they weren’t particularly bored.

Doctor: Miss Harris

All of them got out of their seats only to be stopped by Jess.

Jess: You guys wait here , this is something i need to do on my own.

Kris: you sure ?

Jess: Really sure, i wont be long

Natalie: Were rooting for ya jess.

Jess was directed along the long narrow corridor which wasn’t particularly cosy or well lit , and a perculiar , strange smell smothered the air but she tried to ignore these flaws as she followed the doctor.

Doctor: Ah room 25 , here we are. He put his key in the door , unlocked the door and let Jess go in first. So how are you Jess?

Jess: Im fine thanks , just a bit worried.

Doctor: Thats understandable , right i just want to take you blood pressure and things to make sure everythings ok , i know how you like to appear tough .

Jess: Yes fine thats ok. She lifted up her sleeve to her brand new crisp white blouse so that the doctor could check her blood pressure.

Doctor: Under any stress ? You’ve got very high blood pressure.

Jess: Oh thats just this morning , flat mate trouble and its really getting to me. Its all been sorted out though so ill be fine later.

Doctor: Are you sure? I should keep a girl with your condition in the hospital for rest , its not good for you , but if you can assure me you’ll be ok then ill allow you to go home. Now shall we get you those results?

Kris: Whats taking so long?

Natalie: Kris don’t get worried , he’s been her doctor since she was a baby im sure there probably just talking about her mum and dad or how his wife and kids are. Trust me , ive been with her to her appointments and sometimes they both just forget why theyre there with the chat that goes on.

Kris *laughing* : Yer i suppose , she doesn’t know when to keep her mouth shut does she most of the time.

Natalie: Your right there kris! Your right there

Kris: I just hope shes ok!

Natalie: come on i know she will be , shes a fighter and shes had the best doctors and nurses in the country giving her treatment and operations. It’ll be fine kris now stop stressing out, your going to have me stressed out and you wont like me stressed.

Kris: Yer i guessed that ages ago.

Natalie: Oh yer sorry about that by the way.

Kris: Its ok you were right.

Back in the doctors room , he was rifling through he oversized looking filing cabinet for jess’ results. However , the longer he took to find them the more nervous jess was getting.

Doctor: Ahh here we are!

Jess: God i was getting worried then , i thought you lost my results. Okay lets have them then.
Doctor: I’m glad to say miss harris , your clear! The cancers gone and your in remission, congratulations.

Jess’ eyes lit up at the word clear! Oh my god im going to live! She was ecstatic and squeezed the doctor tightly with excitement.

Jess: Oh my god thank you! Before the doctor could say anything she had dashed to the waiting area to kris and Natalie.

Jess: Im clear!

Natalie: oh my god jess im made up for you!

Kris: Im so glad jess.

He took jess in his arms and kissed her passionately , better than in any movies you could see. Natalie had tears streaming down their faces , not in sadness , but joy. All the stress and worry three of them had over these past few months was finally over.

Kris: I love you jess , i never want to be without you. He kissed her again

Jess: Good coz it looks like your stuck with me now doesn’t it! She kissed him back with just as much passion.

Natalie: Aww thats so sweet.

Kris: Come on , us three back at the dorm , i think this is a good time for some celebratory drinks!

Jess: I agree!

Natalie: Well i cant disagree if its on me!

The three of them drove back to the flat happy as larry with the good news about jess.

Kris: You coming in nat?

Natalie: Yer course , good thing ive got some champers in the storage bit isn’t it.

Kris: Ooh how very posh

Jess: You know you love it!

Kris: To right specially if champagnes involved.

As soon as they got into the dorm everyone left their stuff on the floor and headed over to the sofas; Natalie on one and kris and jess on another. They got out the champagne glasses and each of them had had about two glasses each by now.

Kris: By the way when the hell did we get wine glasses in? Were all skint

Natalie: I got them , i had a niggling feeling it would be ok and anyway , who drinks champagne from cups eh?

Jess: Im just glad its all over , lets have a toast.
Just as they were about to toast , zoe and zack entered the dorm , unnoticed by the others.

Natalie: To Jess and being clear! The all clink glasses. As they turn round they notice zoe and zack.

Zoe : Who the hells this?

Kris: No need for that zoe!

Zack: Ignore her guys , hiya im zack who are you?

Natalie (feeling a bit peeved off when she realises its the pair who made jess upset): Im Natalie, aint you forgetting saying hello to someone?

Zack: Who?

Kris could tell Natalie was getting angry as her face was going as red as a tomatoe. Come on jess lets go to my room.

Jess: Okay , nat will you be ok

Natalie: Yer ill be ok jess its these two who need bringing down a peg or two.

Zack: What?

Zoe: What for!

Natalie: WHY THE HELL ARE YOU TREATING MY FRIEND LIKE SOMETHING OFF THE BOTTOM OF YOUR SHOES! THERES NO NEED FOR IT! SURE SHE MAY NOT HAVE DEALT WITH GOING AWAY IN THE BEST WAY....

Zack: your telling us..

Zoe: Yer not exactly the best way to leave you know leaving a note.

Natalie: LISTEN IM NOT DONE! SHE LEFT BECAUSE SHE FOUND OUT SHE HAD CANCER , SOMETHING THAT RUNS IN HER FAMILY , SOMETHING THAT EVERY YEAR SHE GRIEVES AT THE LOSS OF ANOTHER MEMBER OR HER FAMILY , WHICH IS WHAT SHES DONE SINCE SHE WAS 12 AND I SHOULD KNOW COZ IVE BEEN HER FRIEND FOR 11 YEARS AND NOT ONCE DID I ACT THE WAY YOU TWO DID! I EVEN MOVED UP HERE TO BE WITH HER WHEN SHE FOUND OUT! YOU GUYS LIVED WITH HER AND YOU JUST IGNORED HER AT A POINT IN HER LIFE WHEN SHE NEEDED ALL THE SUPPORT SHE COULD GET. NOW SHES CLEAR YOUR TREATING HER THE SAME! I DONT KNOW HOW SHE CAN CALL YOU FRIENDS. SHES BEEN THINKING ITS ALL HER FAULT THAT YOU GUYS AINT SPEAKING TO HER BUT I KOW ITS NOT , ITS YOU BOTHS NARROW MINDEDNESS , YOU HAVENT EXACTLY MADE HER RECOVERY RELAXING , SHES BEEN ON EGGSHELLS THIS WHOLE TIME BECAUSE OF YOU BOTH!

Zoe: Shes clear?

Zack: Oh my god im made up.

Kris and Jess re-emerged from their rooms with suitcases in tow realising that Natalie had finished. Zoe and zack rushed over to jess to hug her but she pulled away.

Zoe: Jess...whats wrong?

Jess: Your whats wrong! You think you both can treat me like dirt because ive got cancer and couldn’t tell you, and this is why! You’ve acted my parents , disowning me. I actually called you a friend once , not anymore.

Zack: Jess...

Kris: And you , me and jess expected more from you , we all know youve had your fair share of hurt in your life so why do the same to jess? Neither of you are worth the stress.
Kris and Jess had a long discussion whilst in their rooms , they both came to the realisation that if either of them could ever hurt one of them , then they did the same thing to the other and thats what they did. They hurt jess and blanked her but it hurt him just as bad to see in such a state. Both of them realised they needed to brake free from people could ever turn their backs on them like zoe and zack did.

Zoe + Zack: but whats with the bags?

Natalie: There coming with me! Did you really expect them to stay here after what you both did? Come on guys , we’ll be off now!
And thats were they went , the three of them , to natalies apartment to start afresh. All linking arms they walked across the village and to their new home with people they know they could trust and people they knew wouldn’t ever turn their backs or overreact.

I dont know whether to carry on this fanfic to their three lives after this whole cancer thing with maybe a few obstacles along the way on this fanfic or just end it what do you think?

Chapter 23

Natalie: Welcome to your new home!

Kris just stood there in awe: Jesus Christ! The size of this place! Bigger than the dorms altogether!

Jess: Close your mouth kris , gawping isn’t very attractive. She just laughed at kris , he wasn’t used to living the high life in a large apartment so it was going to take some adjusting for him.

Natalie: Come on ill show you both to your bedroom.

They walked along a large airy and spacey corridor with hard wood flooring , expensive paintings by well known artists dead and alive and pure white walls. At the end of the long corridor there was a huge window stretching from both sides of the walls and from the ceiling to the floor which overlooked the whole village. You may think its inappropriate as you could have any peeping tom looking in but no fear – theres also a slide down blind which was just as big. All kris could think of was how much this apartment looked like one of those expensive show homes that they use for magazine shoots and things like that. She then opened the door to a large spacious room , decorated with modern bright furniture , much more chic looking than the flat , with the same white walls and wood flooring as the rest of the apartment.

Jess: Woh , when did you do this Nat? It wasn’t like this when i was last here.

Natalie: Hey , i just went out to the furniture store in chester and stocked up , got the decorators in and that type of thing , i didn’t want you guys staying in a boring room. I know your both not exactly normal *laughs* so i went for unusual things. Like it?

Kris: Yer! God yes!

Jess: Aww thanks for this nat. They both go over and give her a massive hug.

Natalie: Woh im going to be the next one in hospital if you don’t give me some air lol.
They all laugh.

Jess: How come were all the way back here anyways?

Natalie: Well i like my sleep if you get my drift , lets just say this way you can do what you want , how loud you want and i wont be disturbed lol. Plus i thought you’d like your own half of the apartment. Your bathrooms just across the hall , the one with two showers for you both but the kitchen and living area are shared. Well im off to bed , ill see you both tomorrow ok?

Jess: Night

Kris: See you in the morning.

Kris leaned in for a passionate kiss with jess and lead her to the double king sized bed.

Kris: Why don’t we make use of being all the way down the corridor. He gently pushed her onto the bed and begins to unbutton her top.

Jess: Ooh mr fisher i like your thinking

actually guys sorry but thats the end. the story was only meant to b about how she gets cancer and gets through it and that sorta stuff. Im going to do another fanfic but unsure about who , watch out for my poll!
