She couldn’t believe she was Pregnant. What was she going to do? She always said she would never have an abortion and even under these circumstances she knew it was not an option. The dad of her unborn child wasn’t around. She had left him. He had no job, no real home and like her, was not ready to be a dad. She didn’t even know if she was going to tell him she was pregnant. She couldn’t go back. Too much had happened there. There was a knock on the door. It must be the pizza she thought. How wrong could she be? It was Justin.

J: Hi Katy!
K: Justin, how did you find me?
J: Louise told me.
K: Why would she tell you?
J: She didn’t want to; it took me ages to get your address out of her.
K: I thought if anyone would be coming after me, it would be Warren.
J: Katy, can I come in?
(Katy reluctantly moved aside to let Justin in to her flat).
J: I think you should sit down before I tell you this.
K: Why? What’s happened?
J: A couple of days after you left, Warren was charged with Sean’s murder.
K: What? They didn’t have anything on him though.
J: Apparently, the police found Warren’s fingerprints on Sean’s wallet. It had nothing to do with Jake.
K: You know what?
K: I’m glad he’s been caught.
J: What? Why? He could bring us down with him.
K: Because this way I don’t have to fight my conscience. And don’t worry, you’re in the clear Justin. If Warren was going to involve you then he would have done it by now.
J: So why did you just run off like that?
K: I just couldn’t stay in Hollyoaks, not knowing what Warren had done. If I had, then we would all have been in prison right now.
J: There’s nothing to worry about now though, it would be just be me and you again.
K: Justin, everything has changed since then.
J: Like what?
K: Look Justin. When I left, I left for good. Me and you are over.
J: But
K: Please. Just go.

As Katy closed the door she felt a tear roll down her cheek. Why had she pushed him away? Again? She loved him.

Justin was leaning against the other side of the door wondering what Katy meant when she had said “Everything has changed since then”. As he walked away from the door he used his sleeve to wipe the tears away.
