It's taken me ages to post this purely because I'm really lazy and couldn't be bothered to type it up until now. lol I've said for ages taht I was going to post it and here t is. The first few parts are just a quick look at how everyone is, so not much happening. I'm gonna shut up now and just get on with it

Oh before I do thanks for coming to my rescue again Li

Kris and Jess had been married for five years now and they were still as blissfully happy as they had been on the day which they both cherished with fond memories. It had taken them a lot to get to the place they were at but neither of them cared because it had all been worth it, and they wouldn’t change a single thing about their lives. Whenever they had a row it would last about ten minutes of Jess stropping about the house before she’d go crawling back to wherever Kris was and apologise and vice versa. It was fair to say that they were getting much softer as they were growing older, something which amused both of them greatly, as much as they could see it in each other, they refused to believe that they themselves were losing their edge.
After having Oliver who was six, Jess had decided not to go back to work. She couldn’t bring herself to leave her son’s side when he was younger especially after what they’d been through with him, and how she'd missed out on the first couple of months due to her depression. In fact looking at him now was like there had never been anything wrong with him when he was born, he was as happy and healthy as any other boy his age. As he had started school full time though Jess was thinking about taking on a part time job while Oliver was at school and no longer than that. She loved staying home on the weekends to spend time with her little boy as did Kris but he worked full time to make sure that they were financially secure. It had taken him quite a while to find a job after his track record and his temper, not many employers wanted him despite the work that he put in. He’d spent months after his wedding looking for a job and one always kept popping up but he had been sceptical. He’d worked for his father in law before and it had been great until all of the trouble came about and it had taken Kris a long time to forgive Alan and accept his job offer but he knew that he had to do something before it was too late and Jess’ dad was nothing short of relieved when Kris took on the job again.

Oliver was a right little character and had both of his parents wrapped round his little finger. He took after both of his parents in different ways. He had his dad’s nose and chin while the rest of his resembled his mum. He had short blonde hair, blue eyes and stood at about 3ft high. They were both so proud of him, he’d been through so much and it had all made him stronger and because of all of that he only had to open his mouth to speak and what ever he wanted he would get. Granted it wasn’t the best method of parenting but it was theirs. Ollie was definitely a mummy’s boy which was understandable after he’d spent so long with her, but he idolised his father too, he just had different personalities when it came to each of them. If he was with his mum which was practically always then he was angelic and butter wouldn’t melt but when he was with his dad then he had an evil streak. Many time Kris had stood in the way of Jess tending to their son only to have various toys thrown at him, yet no matter what happened neither of them could bring themselves to get genuinely angry. Whenever they tried to be serious the little boy would just laugh and, or make silly faces which in turn made both Kris and Jess crack up. They tried not to laugh in front of him though so walked out of the room but he always knew that they were laughing and thought that he was a good boy.

Steven on the other hand the son of Zak and Zoe was the complete opposite of Oliver. His parents had separated when he was two so he couldn’t remember what it was like to have both his mum and dad in the same house without arguing, but over the last few months things had been getting better. They were able to have a civilised conversation for about twenty minutes before it would turn ugly. It always upset Steven who wanted to have a mum and dad like Kris and Jess, that his mum and dad hated each other. One thing that did come out of it though was that he was constantly getting new toys and clothes, each parent was trying to out do the other, and the fact that he was only a five year old child didn’t even come into play. Unlike Oliver though he didn’t have the whole attitude problem, he was one of those really quiet kids when he was around other children. The most noise he made with other kids was when he was Oliver who was his best friend, even if he was nasty to him quite regularly. Steven didn’t care how much Oliver poked fun out of him because he loved staying over, he loved that he could stay in a house where there was no real shouting, a house that was always fun.
Zoe allowed Steven to see his dad three days a week, but the handover of their son had been difficult at first as she’d been determined that Zak would only have Steven when she said it was alright. Although they’d been separated for a few years they had only just put the notions of a divorce into action, however if it hadn’t been for the fact that Zak had been dating again it wouldn’t have been mentioned.

“When can I go back to school?” Oliver asked his mum who was busy trying to clean up after him. He’d only been off school for two days and he had the house in a right state. The living room was like a day nursery, as had his bedroom before Jess had cleaned all of the toys away while he slept the previous night. No matter how many times Jess tried to tell him that he had to put one toy away before he got another out he just wouldn’t listen. “Is it soon?” he asked her and she told him that it was the holidays so he had another week left yet. “How longs that?”
“Seven days.” She said feeling slightly fed up of all the questions already. Her day had already been bad and it was only 1pm.
“That’s one more number than how old I am, isn’t it mummy?”
“Yes Ollie that’s right, why don’t you take that game into your room now” she told him and he sat on the sofa and shook his head telling her that there was nowhere to play in his room. “Don’t be silly, I’ve only just picked up the toys last night.”
“I’m not being silly, they all jumped back out.” He smiled and Jess couldn’t help but laugh at her son’s innocence. “When will daddy be back, he said we could go out for tea? I want pizza and ice cream. Can Steven come?”
“Your dad won’t be in until later, and you’ll have to ask him if Steven can come.”
“I bet dad says no, he’s a nasty pasty. Please mummy, I’ll be extra good, can he come, please, pretty, pretty please?” he whined until Jess caved and said yes which didn’t take long at all. “Yay, phone Zoe then before you forget silly”
“I will when I’m done tidying up after you, you little monster” she said tickling him and he giggled so much and started kicking about trying to wriggle free but Jess had him well trapped.
“Mummy no, get off.” He giggled “I can’t breathe fatty.”
“Oh that does it mister.” She laughed and tickled him even more, and because he couldn’t get his own way he started to cry knowing that his mum would instantly stop and let go of him and he stropped off to his room leaving Jess to carry on with the cleaning.

A few hours later Jess still hadn’t rang Zoe and Ollie was going on and on about how she was going to forget and he would be all by himself. Jess wanted to pull her hair out and just tell him to shut up but she couldn’t do it. She’d already unintentionally upset him once and didn’t want to do it again. She couldn’t believe that this was what her life come down to with her son. She’d always imagined looking after him the way she had, spending as much time as possible with him, but he practically ran her life, and she couldn’t change that now.
“Where’s Steven?”
“I don’t know Ollie, I haven’t called Zoe yet.”
“But you promised…you said…”
“I’m going to do it now. Is that alright?” she asked him and he suddenly brightened up as he watched his mum pick up the phone and dial Zoe’s number. When she didn’t speak straight away Oliver had thought that his mum had only pretended to actually press the buttons and went over and pressed his ear against the phone to check that it was making a noise. “Ollie go sit down please.”
“I want to hear.” He whined and stayed glued to the spot, his ear pressed right up against the phone until Jess decided to move and he fell over which did make her laugh.
“Hi Zo, have you and Steven any plans for this evening?” Jess asked after she was greeted by her friend.
“Well that all depends.” Zoe answered and Jess told her that she and Kris were taking Oliver out for pizza and he’d asked if Steven could tag along too to keep him company. “Sure, he’d love to. He’s supposed to be at his dad’s tonight but that doesn’t matter. I’ll bring him over later.”
“Oh no we’ll pick him up, it’ll be easier and it’s on the way to the restaurant anyway.” Jess told her and Zoe just agreed with whatever it was that Jess was saying. She wasn’t bothered what the evening entailed really just so long as she was getting one up on Zak. “What about you, are you going to come too?”
“I don’t think so, but thanks anyway. Besides I think I might receive a friendly visit from Zak and his new tart.” She said making Jess laugh at how Zoë obviously didn’t hold a grudge.
“Maybe I should call Zak and tell him or you could.” Jess suggested and Zoe told her not to worry about a thing, she’d take care of it all, which ultimately meant that Zak would be sat waiting for his son to arrive all night, totally oblivious to the fact he was going out for pizza.

I haven't read Is This the End Kay but after reading the start off this i'm off to find it right now

When Kris came home from work he looked and felt totally drained. He’d had nothing but meetings all day and they weren’t with the people that he got on with either. Every client he’d seen annoyed the hell out of him and tried to take him for a ride. Now he was home though he just wanted to kick back and relax, however he was soon going to learn that that wasn’t happening. As he walked through the door he was faced with an extremely hyper little boy who kept shouting something, but he was going so fast that Kris couldn’t understand a word of it.
“Ollie, why don’t you stop talking for a second and calm down so I can hear you.” Kris suggested as he took hold of his sons hand and they walked through into the living room where Kris slumped on the sofa scratching his head. Oliver had taken notice and sat down next to Kris with his mouth tightly shut for a few seconds before blurting everything out again. “I still can’t make it out.”
“Mummy said that Steven could come for tea with us because you promised we could go for pizza yesterday and so I asked mummy for Steven to come too and she said yes and now he’s coming with us.” He rushed and was just about gasping for air by the time he’d finished. “Did you hear me that time?” he asked cheekily and Kris nodded even though he’d only caught the words ‘Steven’, ‘pizza’ and ‘coming with us’. That was when the realisation hit him and he moaned and called for Jess who was busy somewhere else. Having heard him she came wandering through with pieces from Oliver’s game still in her hands and asked what he wanted.
“Please tell me that Ollie’s having this pizza in his own little world.” Kris said and Jess laughed a little, sitting down beside him placing the objects in her hands on the floor, and gave Kris a peck on the cheek. “I’m being serious, don’t be trying to butter me up”
“Oh so a kiss isn’t allowed now, fine I’ll know better next time. And as for Ollie I’m sorry but you did promise him yesterday, and you know what happens when you break promises.”
“Which is precisely why I don’t make them and didn’t promise him a thing. I said that I’d think about it. I really can’t be bothered Jess.” He told her and she gave him one of her looks. “I’m tired, it won’t hurt if we go tomorrow.” He finished and Oliver threw one of his usual tantrums and started throwing things about and kicked Kris in the shin, making him shout.
“Y-y-y-you pr-promised, you did.” He sobbed still throwing things about. Jess got up and went to calm him down but he ran off to his room and slammed the door behind him shouting how much he hated his dad.
“Wow you’re popular today aren’t you.”
“I feel awful but I promise to take him tomorrow.” He said guiltily and Jess told him that it wasn’t her he should be telling It was Oliver that he’d upset and Oliver that needed an apology. “You love this don’t you, me having to go crawl round our six year old son, the child that rules our lives.”
“Hey I wasn’t the one that made him cry.” She shot back making her husband sigh. “You’d better go make sure he’s alright in there. I’ll call Zo and tell her that pizzas are off the menu thanks to the grouch.” She joked but Kris failed to see the funny side of it and dragged himself up from the sofa to go make sure that his son was alright. Before he reached the living room door though he stopped and turned to look at Jess who was watching him. “Do you not want to go instead?”
“He’s a child Kris, you’re scared of a child. That’s pitiful.”
“Shut up, I am not scared of him I just…well I just want to be able to walk out of his room.” He drifted off realising that he did sound scared of a child and Jess couldn’t control her laughter. From sitting up on the sofa one minute Kris witnessed her flop over and lie down, doubled up with laughter at how ridiculous he was being. If anyone else had been stood in his place then he knew that he would be exactly the same as Jess. “Now I’ve amused you I hope I can do the same with Ollie.” He said this time making it out of the door and along the hall to his son’s bedroom.

O dear, i dont think i want Ollie anymore not if hes going to kick me in the shin!

Before even trying to open his son’s door Kris knocked, not out of politeness though. The last time Ollie had been in a mood he’d sat against his door with his hands at his side on the floor and as the door had been pushed open his fingers had jammed beneath it causing him to scream in pain. As he’d already been crying and making more noise than Kris could be bothered with he didn’t want the same to happen again.
“Can I come in Ol?” Kris asked only to be told no by a small voice and hear a loud bang as something flew at the door. “Ollie”
“I hate you.” He shouted “You made me break my figure.”
“We’ll fix it, now move out of the way of the door and let me see.” He said and slowly the door handle was pulled down and the door opened into the room, with Oliver’s face peering around it, his eyes all blotchy from his crying. “Ok then let me see that toy” he said and walked over to his sons bed while Ollie picked up the toy and carried it over to where his dad had just sat down.
“Mummy’s nicer than you, I don’t li-”
“I know I’m horrible, you hate me. I’m big bad dad.” Kris laughed and Oliver glared at him, he didn’t understand why someone would laugh after being told that they were hated by someone else. “You certainly did break this big style, didn’t you?”
“It’s your fault” Oliver told him kicking his feet against the bed while his dad tried to put the toy back together but it looked like there was no point, the figure that Kris recognised as a character from one of the cartoons that was constantly played on the tv. “Listen son dad’s really tired tonight, not to mention has a sore leg now because of you, you monster” he added making Ollie giggle at the fact that he’d hurt him. “How about we stay home and have dinner here. I’ll take you out all day tomorrow.”
“No, granddad won’t be a happy bunny if you stay home.”
“We can go to the fair, and take Steven if his mummy says.”
“Really? You promise?”
“Yes, me, you, mummy and Steven. Granddad can find someone else to work tomorrow. Now come on let’s go tell your mum and we can have pizza here.”
“No, mummy makes it go all black, and yucky.” He said screwing up his face making his dad chuckle.
“I’m going to tell her you said that”
“Nasty pasty, I’m telling mummy you made me break Sportacus.” He said running out of his room to where his mum was sat on the sofa after having recovered from her laughing fit. “Mummy, daddy broke my Sportacus figure”
“I did not” Kris said sounding like a bigger child than his son.
“He did too, you did” he turned to Kris and pulled a face when his mum wasn’t looking.
“So you managed to win him round despite breaking his things”
“We’re going to the fair tomorrow” he beamed and Jess looked at Kris questioningly only to have him raise his eyebrows and flash her a quick grin. “Can I tell Steven? Please”
“Sure you can, but you’ll have to wait until your dad goes to pick him up.” She smiled at Kris and he scowled. “Well I told her we’d still have him, I can’t call her again and tell her you’re in a mood so Steven can’t stay.”
“Fine, fine I’m going.” He groaned picking his keys up. “You coming Ol?” he asked and the two of them headed out of the door and to the car.
