1 – Sometimes, your mind doesn’t want you to be in love, but deep down, you know you are.

It had been exactly three days since Kris and Jess had last spoken. Ever since Jess had smelt her favourite and very expensive perfume on Kris, and found out he had finished the bottle.

Kris had made no effort to make it up to Jess, though deep down he wanted to. Besides he was way to proud for that… and then there was the fact he thought it was funny. Jess was beginning to wonder if it was time to forgive and forget. Deep down Jess was in love with Kris. Deep down Kris was in love with Jess. But because neither knew the others feelings they pretended, to themselves, and the rest of the world, that they weren’t.

Of course Zoe and Zak knew. They had tried many times to set Kris and jess up but something always went wrong. Or someone got in the way. No, hang on. Let’s be plain with you. Nathan always got in the way. He was Kris and Jess’ biggest problem, worse than your dad being bankrupt. Worse than your brother finding out you’re a bisexual cross-dresser, and spitting on you. Nathan was a rash. One big, itchy rash that just wouldn’t go away.

Nathan POV

Kris and Jess? There is no Kris and Jess. But there is a Kris and Nathan, has a better ring to it, don’t you think? Kris loves me; he’s just one of those people who take a little time to admit it right? Yep. I mean look at me – gorgeous. How could Kris resist me? Jess is so jealous, that cow is so ugly, I feel sorry for her really. She obviously likes Kris but how long will it take her to realise that she is just not Kris’ type. I will be with Kris and I’ll do anything to get him.

Kris POV

OMG!! Nathan is just disgusting. Don’t get me wrong, it’s nice having an admirer, but he is not the admirer I want. Jess is. She is beautiful, funny, and has an amazing personality. I love our little arguments, and when she gets angry – well that is just gorgeous! I love her, she obviously doesn’t love me, maybe me and Nathan isn’t such a bad idea after all. Anyway I’m off to the SU bar.

At The SU

“Right I’m getting the first round in!” shouted Kris.
“For once” Jess muttered.
“Hey, shut it COW!” Kris winked at Jess, accompanied by his little smirk. Jess smiled and blushed invisibly.
“Right the usual for everyone…what about you Elliott”
“Erm, just an orange juice please”
“Come on Elliott, live a little!”
“Do you know what, I think there is a new star wars film out” said Elliott, rushing off.
Everyone sighed in perfect time with one another and all burst out laughing.

Kris went off to the bar and Jess felt herself being watched. She felt a shadow climb over her, invading her space. Slowly she looked up.

“Hey babe” IT said. “Where’s my favourite cross – dresser?”

His favourite, cross-dresser that’s my saying! Thought Jess

Kris looked over from the bar, to the table where his friends sat, and nearly dropped the tray he was carrying.
Great, he thought. The rash.
