Ok, for anyone who's a little confused (I know I would be lol), here's a summary of what's happening:

- Hannah asks Gilly to inform the police of Guy's involvement in Melissa's death. But Gilly is unsure whether what Hannah's telling him is real, or just her imagination, and therefore backs out of going to the police, though tells Hannah that he has...

- After learning of Melissa's death, Guy is desperately trying to cover his tracks by threatening Hannah that if she does not tell the police that it was Gilly who kicked Melissa to the ground, then he'll get Gilly killed.

Over the next 24 hours, the guilt inside of him grew so much that he couldn't bear it any longer. He had to make it right, for her.

The journey Gilly took to the police station the morning after felt like the longest journey he'd ever taken. It was like no matter how many steps he took, he could never reach it. With every step the station stayed the same distance away, like it was moving away from him as he moved towards it. And there was something else that was odd about that journey.

As soon as he stepped out of the hospital grounds, he felt like there was someone else there. Someone watching him. And as he made his way to the police station, he was almost certain that whoever it was was following him. It started off as the smallest suspiscion, like catching something moving in the corner of your eye, but once you'd turned around, it had gone. Gilly did this several times, and dismissed the feeling every time, assuming it was just down to exhaustion. But his fears became more and more justified as the journey went on. Shadows lurking in corners. Heavy breathing, getting louder and louder, faster and faster, making Gilly quicken his pace. But it was too late. As Gilly turned around to see who his tormentor was, he was struck down by a heavy metal object. He lost consciousness almost instantly, and his tormentor left him for dead.

Hannah grew lonelier and more frustrated by the hour. Her family and friends had all gone home, to get on with the rest of their lives.

She wondered how long it would take for the police to come and talk to her. How long did it take them? It couldn't be much longer, surely...

She glanced over to her mobile, which lay dormant on her bedside table. Not a ring or a text in days. Still, after everything, no-one cared.

She sighed, then picked it up. If she wanted to know anything of the situation, she'd have to make the effort. She dialled Gilly's number, and waited...


Suzanne: Rhys? You seen Gilly around?

Rhys: No. Why should I have done? We're not joined at the hip y'know.

Suzanne: Alright, I was only asking. What's he done to you recently to make you snap at just the mention of his name?

Rhys: Nothing. It doesn't matter. Why're you asking anyway?

Suzanne: His phone keeps ringing. Someone's trying to get into contact with him, but the number's withheld so I can't tell who it is.

Rhys: Why don't you just answer it?

Suzanne: Because it's Gilly's phone, and it's therefore Gilly's business. How would you like it if I started answering your calls?

Rhys: I wouldn't leave my phone lying around for you to get anywhere near it. Anyway, I've gotta go out, I'm meeting Beth in half an hour so...

Suzanne: Ok, but next time you see Gilly, tell him to come pick up his phone and ring back whoever's ringing him.

Rhys: Whatever.

And with that, Rhys left the house, slamming the door behind him.

Gilly awoke, dazed and bewildered. He put his hand to his head and winced in pain. As he stood up, he had to place his hand on the bench beside him, to stop himself to falling back down. Everything was blurry. He tried to focus his eyes, but that just made his head hurt even more. He collapsed back down onto the bench and searched his pockets. No phone. No money. Nothing. He'd come out with absolutely nothing.

Where was he, anyway? He squinted at the building in front of him. He recognised it almost instantly. The police station. Terror filled his mind. It had happened outside a police station. And no-one came out to help him. No-one would've seen anything.

Well, they'd be no use. Reporting the incident would probably cause nothing but hassle. He had no idea what his attacker looked like, what he was wearing, or even what time the incident took place.

He stood up again as his eyes focused, and began to walk back to Hollyoaks, ignoring the splitting pain in his head, that only seemed to get worse with each step he took.

Footsteps echoed down the hall. He entered the room, and put the note by her side.

'It's too late.'

She got out of bed and moved towards the window, watching in horror as the doctors wheeled Gilly in, his eyes closed and his face drained of colour. He wasn't alive anymore. He was long gone now, and it was nobody's fault but hers.

Hannah awoke suddenly, her forehead sweating and her hands shaking uncontrollably. She looked over at the table beside her, half expecting a piece of paper on it, like in her dream. She breathed a sigh of relief as she saw nothing on it but a half empty glass of water.

She turned her head to the other side, preparing to go back to sleep, when she saw it. Petrified, she froze, but her heart pounded harder and faster than ever, as she stared at the piece of paper that lay folded on her pillow, barely centimetres away from her face.
