She slipped out in the dead of night, knowing exactly what she had to do. The walk was far and the air was cold, but once she'd got there, she knew it would be worth it.

She took a deep breath as she approached the station entrance. Fear gripped her. What would they do to her? She'd lied. She'd got another man locked up. What fate would await her after that?

But the single thought of Gilly sitting alone in a cell, having been nothing but good to her throughout everything, made up her mind. He deserved this.

She took one step inside.

When Hannah slipped back into bed, it felt as if the whole world had been lifted off her shoulders. She wouldn't sleep now, she knew that, all she could really do now was wait.

Gilly squinted as a burst of light appeared in front of him, the door opening for the first time in what seemed like years. His heart pounded inside of him. He could tell from the darkness outside his tiny window that it was late, and had been for a long time. What was happening?
