Okay, so new fic time =)

About Kris and Jess as per usual lol! Erm this kind of takes places back in the day before all the Jess/Zoe/Darren etc stuff.

Arguments and Atmospheres

“You know, that’s not a bad idea!”

“Eh?”, Zak mumbled avidly watching the bubbles in his lemonade rise up to the top. “What is?”

Zoe sighed. How she had put up with these lot for so long was beyond her. “This!”, she said, pointing to the advert inside her OK! Magazine. Jess tilted her head, trying to read what it said.

“Zo, trying holding it up the right way!”
“What? Oh right, sorry”.

Jess began to read, and now even Zak looked enthused about the advert. And then came in Kris.

“What are you all looking at?”, he said absently as he filed his nails by the kitchen sink.
“Take a look”, Zoe said, chucking the magazine at Kris, who missed the magazine completely.

The others burst out in laughter, and Kris bent down in a huff to pick it up.

“Someone can’t catch”, Zoe teased, still laughing heartily
“Someone can’t throw. That was such a girl’s throw”, Kris replied
“Like you could do any better”, Jess added, “You’re more of a girl than me!”
“What. Ever”, Kris said back, until he burst out with a guffaw of laughter. “You were going to go on an Easter break abroad?! Don’t make me laugh! As if that’d ever happen. You’d end up chucking Jess off the plane before you even started”

Jess rolled her eyes and smiled simply. “You’re just jealous because we weren’t going to invite you to come”

“Kris, we were”, Zoe butted in, desperately trying to keep the atmosphere calm “Not that we’re even going. It was just an idea”

Jess let out a light laugh. “Yeah, one that Kris wasn’t involved in”
“Jess . .”, Zoe began, raising an eyebrow at her friend
“Oh, don’t you ‘Jess’ me. We find something actually decent to do over this Easter break, and in comes old mardy pants up there who just delights in ruining it for us. Typical”, Jess spat

Kris laughed sarcastically. “Well if that’s how you feel Jess, I’ll just have to come along so I can annoy you that extra bit more. Truly ruin your holiday”

Jess stood up and stalked out, grabbing a cushion and aiming it directly at Kris. She threw and got him straight in the stomach. “Pig!”, she yelled as he yelped in a sudden burst of pain, and she made her way into her room, slamming her door as she went.

Kris gave the whole dramatic eye roll performance and smirked. “Such a drama queen”

“Kris, like you can talk”, Zoe said. “Do you always have to be so . .”

“So what?”, Kris asked. “Zoe, it’s hardly my fault Jess has such a short fuse, and can’t take a bit of a joke”

“Kris, just go and apologise, and lets see if we can sort this out”, Zoe said exasperated. “Like adults!”, she added, looking at Kris knowingly. Kris scowled and didn’t move. Zoe began drumming her nails on the little coffee table, waiting impatiently.

“I don’t see why I have to make the first move”, Kris said glowering at Zoe
“Because you’re the man”
“Not in Jess’ eyes. That’s blatantly obvious”

Zoe shrugged. “Prove her wrong then. Surprise her. But just go! Go!”

Kris sighed and muttered under his breath, but all the same went to Jess’ room and knocked on the door.

Careful Consideration.

Kris knocked again on the door, and then pushed down on the handle and opened it.

“I’m sorry, alright”, Kris said, gritting his teeth as he spoke
“Alright”, Jess said, smiling as she got off her bed and flounced into the living area.
“What, I don’t get an apology?”, Kris said with his hand on his hip

Jess continued to smile, and shook her head. “Be a man Kris. Accept it”, Jess said as she sat back down on the sofa. Zoe shook her head and rolled her eyes, wishing she had never mentioned anything at all.

“Kris, just come and sit down, and lets see if realistically we can actually go”, Zoe pleaded. Kris sighed but obeyed and took a seat.

“Okay”, Zoe said taking charge, “We need somewhere easily accessible, cheap and sunny agreed”
“Agreed”, Jess said nodding.
“What if one of us wants to go, I dunno, skiing?”, Kris butted in
“Then they can go alone”, Jess said. “Back to the holiday . .”
“Yeah, right. Erm, any preferences on where to go?”, Zoe asked.

Zak thought for a moment before speaking. “What about France?”
“No way!”, Kris laughed, and Zoe scowled at him.
“Ooh, I’d love to go the Caribbean”, Jess added, grinning to herself

Zoe rolled her eyes for the umpteenth time. “Jess somewhere cheap! Emphasis on cheap!”

“Hawaii?”, Kris suggested
“Or what about Ibiza?!, Zak put across.
“Yeah, Ibiza could work”, Zoe said thoughtfully, and Jess agreed. Then they all turned to look at Kris, expectantly.

“Do I even have a choice?”, Kris said, his sarcasm fluent in very word
“No”, Jess said plainly
“Ibiza it is then”, Kris said dully, but the others all need deep down he was just as excited as they all were.

“Right, lets take a butchers at the internet, get s cheap last minute deal and then we’re off!”, Zak said, jumping to his feet and running around the lounge mimicking being a plane. Jess and Zoe looked at each other and burst out laughing.

Zak logged onto the laptop and began searching, wit Kris behind him to help.

“What about Elliot, though?”, Jess asked as the two girls began tidying up the place.
“Ask him yourself”, Kris said as Elliot walked through the door.

Elliot walked in bemused as to why everyone was staring at him, manic grins plastered on their faces.

“Is-is everything alright?”, he asked nervously, wondering what had taken over his flatmates
“It’s fine Elliot! Fine and dandy!”, Jess said loudly, still smiling manically.
“Right”, Elliot said uncertainly

Jess nodded, the smile on her face now freaking Elliot out. Kris stifled a laugh at Elliot’s face.

“Thing is we, being Kris, Zoe, Zak and me, are going to Ibiza over the holidays so . .”
“So you want me to look after everything whilst you’re away”
“No! No, no, no, we were going to ask you to come”, Jess insisted

“Oh. Oh right. Thing is, I don’t think Ibiza is really my scene”, Elliot said. Kris couldn’t stifle his laughter anymore and began to laugh which resulted in him receiving a hard thump in the arm from Zak. Kris threw Zak an evil look and rubbed his arm.

“Are you sure?”, Jess asked Elliot
“Oh yes, I’d be much happier here”, Elliot said smiling, and with that he practically skipped off to his room.

“Well that’s that sorted then”, Zoe said happily.

Bags and Bargains.

It was midday by the time the four of them had finally booked their holiday. They were set to leave in four days, which Jess had protested was nowhere near enough time to buy a whole summer wardrobe. Zak too was complaining that he wouldn’t have enough time to get his physique as 'fit and buff' as he wanted it to be. Kris just rolled his eyes and began to get ready.

“Where’re you off to?”, Jess asked inquisitively
“We”, Kris began as he zipped us his knee high boots, “are off bargain hunting Jessica darling”

Zoe laughed at Kris’ attempt at what appeared to be a posh accent, but it just wasn’t working for him.

“Zak? You coming?”, Kris asked, smirking at Zak who was attempting to perform a press up. Zak just grunted in reply. “I’ll take that as a no”, Kris decided, and slipping one arm in Jess’ and the other in Zoe’s, the three of them hit the town looking for any summer deals.

“Right then, we need a list”, Kris decided, “We’re going to need summer shirts, flip flops”
“Bikinis”, Jess added
“Shorts”, Zoe pointed out
“Skirts!”, Kris added
“Dresses”
“Playsuits!”
“Vest tops”
“Not forgetting tank tops!”

The three of them got strange looks as they all randomly shouted out items of clothing walking down the streets, neither one knowing who was shouting what. Once in town, the three of them began divulging into all the shops looking for any bargains they could purchase. They hit River Island first, where Jess mused over several summery tops before deciding on two tops; a tropical coloured flower printed halter neck and a sequin laced white cami. Happy with her purchases, the three of them moved on to the next stop: Next.

More in everyone’s price range, Next was a hit. Zoe bought a fair amount including two pairs of denim shorts, a white cotton mini skirt to go over her bikini, a grey summer dress, a military style turquoise vest top and a pair of sandals. Kris too bought a bit; a pink and brown chequered shirt, a pair of white ¾ length shorts and a waistcoat. Jess bought a nice pair of sunglasses and a pair of flip flops.

As the day continued, more and more items were bought and more and more bargains were found and more and more bags built up. By the time they reached back at halls, their arms were ready to drop off.

“Now all we’ve got to do is fit in our cases”, Zoe said brightly, laughing as Jess and Kris unanimously groaned and flopped their heads backwards staring up at the ceiling, laughing at how much they had actually bought.

The Practiced Art of Stuffing.

Each student was in their own room, clothes sprawled over the floor and one hefty case placed upon their bed. Kris’s was green, Zoe’s pink, Jess had a blue one and Zak’s was red. The new clothes which had just been bought too were on the floor, with tags carefully removed to save later embarrassment. Each student now faced the daunting task of fitting said clothes along with various other items into the cases. A groan was felt by each of them.

It was hard enough to decide on what to take as it was, but fitting it all in was in a whole different league. Jess had a massive checklist on her desk of what items she definitely needed, what she wanted, and then extras. Zoe was trying a more methodical way of just folding and hoping for the best. Kris was ensuring every single item went with another to make an entire outfit and decided he would cross the ‘fitting it into the suitcase’ bridge when he came across it. For him, as long his outfits were colour coordinated and super stylish, he didn’t care. Zak however, was having no luck at all, and had resulted in stuffing his belongings into the case with a considerable amount of anger, only to then realise he had left out his towel and swimwear.

Zak was not a happy bunny.

Two hours later, after much stressing and decision making, the four of them congregated in the lounge, drained after their hard work. It was fairly late now, and after Elliot had brought back a KFC for them all, they all returned to their own rooms and went to bed, their dreams all influenced by a Tetris style game of putting clothes into a suitcase.

Terminal Tragedy

The next few days went quite quickly, and before they knew, the four of them were off on their way to the airport. Their bags were bundled into the boot of a seven seater taxi, and the four of them were excitably strapping themselves in, waving goodbye to the dismal delights of Hollyoaks as they drove away.

With the thoughts of sun, sea, sand and sambuca filling all their heads, none of them could help but smile. The journey to the airport was long, but their excitement remained throughout. To keep boredom levels down, they played a range of games from eye spy to using every letter of the alphabet to name footballers, fashion designers, animals and so on. You name it, they played it. And soon enough the time came, and they reached the airport. After a lot of hauling and whingeing, they got inside the airport and were putting there bags through the bag conveyer belts, when they discovered Zak’s was too heavy.

To say Zak was a bit miffed was the understatement of the year.

After a lot of rationalising and exchanging of angry words, Zak’s case was finally allowed to pass through and the four of them went through to wait in the terminals, sitting by the window in order to watch the planes taking off. It felt like ages until they were allowed to board the plane, but soon enough the time came and the four of them got on. Sitting in a two and a two; the boys together and then the girls in front of them, they settled down for the flight ahead of them. Zak slept, Kris stared out of the window, and Zoe and Jess gossiped like a couple of excitable children.

Kris rolled his eyes. “Ibiza, here we come”, he said monotonously.

Pastures New.

They soon touched down in Ibiza at half four in the morning and got their bags as quickly as they could and climbed aboard the coach which would take them to Playa D’en Bassa and to their hotel; The Fiesta Bahamas Beach Club. This time Kris grabbed Jess to sit next to him. “I cannot spend another 5 minutes sitting next to that plank”, Kris whispered. Jess laughed quietly, and smiled apologetically at Zoe who looked less than happy at having to sit next to Zak.

As the coach rambled down the roads, Jess found her self slipping to sleep, her head gently lulling sidewards till it ended up resting on Kris’ chest as she slept lightly. Kris smiled, and with his arm loosely hanging around Jess’ neck, he lightly rested his cheek on top of Jess’ head and he too fell into a light sleep.

No such luck for Zoe, who had Zak snoring next to her, so instead she decided to fish out her video camera, and film out of the window at everything they passed, occasionally flicking to Kris and Jess as they slept beautifully. Zoe smiled to herself; this was going to be a holiday to remember.

An hour later, and they reached their hotel. Zoe woke Zak up by a sharp prod in the chest, and he exclaimed so loudly that Jess and Kris both woke up. The four of them climbed off of the coach, retrieved their bags and entered into the hotel. Zoe took charge of sorting out their rooms and such like and soon enough they were on their way to their rooms. The girls had one room, and next door was the boys.

All four of them entered their rooms and promptly fell asleep on their beds. It had been a long night, but they were finally in Ibiza. And come morning . . They were going to make the most of every minute.

Short section


Morning Has Broken.

Morning came and Kris was up bright and early - literally. They rooms were on the fifth floor up, and so were lucky enough to have a balcony with their rooms. So Kris, being Kris, yanked the curtains open and let the sun shine in through the sliding balcony doors, blinding and waking Zak up. Zak moaned as he tried to shelter his eyes from the bright light, but it failed as Kris - already clad in his pink tie-dye Bermuda shorts and white tank top - pulled the duvet off of Zak and practically dragged Zak out of bed. Zak whinged but allowed himself to be pulled out of bed and then pushed into the shower. With the water hitting his face, Zak became more awake and soon he too was feeling the Ibiza spirit, and got ready to go to down for some breakfast.

The girls were up too, and getting ready also. Both had already put on their bikinis and were currently decided on what tops to wear. Zoe had picked out a pale yellow skirt already to go with her yellow ballerina pumps, whilst Jess had donned ¾ length black shorts and black flip-flops. Eventually, they both decided on white tops, and arm in arm, they went down to the ground floor, meeting the boys on the way.

After a hearty breakfast, the four raced up to their rooms - the girls in the lift and the boys on the stairs - and got ready to have a peek about the hotel. Zoe had her video camera out, Jess had her digital one and the four of them went off exploring.

They came across three nicely sized pools, numerous tennis courts, a multi-sports courts (to which Zak punched the air in mock glory), pool side bars, outdoor restaurants, a gym, and the beach a 10 minute walk away. Plus they discovered that the centre of town was only a 20 minute drive away and that was where all the excitement really resided.

After getting the bearings, and giving the video camera a guided verbal tour of the hotel, the four of them headed down the pool for a bit of a lazy morning before an eagerly anticipated lunch.

I'm seriously craving the summer hols now after writing this!



Football Frenzy.

After a lot of persuasion from Zak, the four of them went over to the multi-sports court for a quick game of two-on-two football. Jess and Zoe had reluctantly agreed on the condition that they were picking the clubs they visited for the first two nights. They had to go back to their hotel rooms to find something to wear to play in; Jess found an old oversized football shirt which she put on, keeping her shorts from before, and dug out her trainers from the bottom of her case. Zoe however, came out with a pair of trackie bottoms and kept on her white top.

“Zo, you’re gonna boil in that!”, Jess said when she saw Zoe in her outfit. Zoe groaned but agreed and put on a pair of shorts and found some trainers to match and soon they were good to go. They kept there bikinis on from before, ready to dash into the pool as soon as Zak tired, which they hoped wouldn’t take too long.

However, once they started playing, Jess and Zak versus Zoe and Kris, all four of them started to get into it until they really did get too hot.

“Right, I’ve had enough of this. I’m off into the pool”, Kris declared as he watched Zak trying to keep up the ball for as long as he could.

Jess laughed from her position of lying flat on her back on the floor. “I’m right there with you”, she said standing up.

“Me too”, Zoe added and the three of them began to run. Zak suddenly noticed they’d all gone.

“Last one in the pool buys the first round tonight”, Kris yelled and he dived straight into the deep end of the pool. Zoe and Jess grabbed each others hand and leapt in after Kris, the water cooling down their bodies instantaneously. Zak was left as the last one, but jumped into the pool all the same, ensuring he splashed them all. He may have to pay tonight, but he was certainly going to pay them back.

I love it and i love the kind of summer feel to it..God Jess n Kris will never ever stop arguging will they!!! and they left Elliot behind.
