Lucy is a weirdo, and she's coming back This bit is rubbish but it had to happen, otherwise they'd just appear form nowhere and that would be silly.

They walked off into the station and sat on one of the benches with their suitcases at their feet and the tickets in their hands waiting for the train to pull up at the station. Kris wrapped his arm around Jess and hugged her before laughing at the thought of what had happened earlier when she was sulking.
Jess: What’s so funny?

Kris: You are, I knew you wouldn’t stay back at the flat and let me go alone. You’d miss me far too much.

Jess: Actually, I promised your mum I’d be there and I can’t break a promise.

Kris: Either way I knew you’d be here.

Jess: Next time I’ll have to prove you wrong, and not show up them won’t I?

Kris: You wouldn’t do that, I mean you seen what happened when you left me for two minutes I had girls al over me.

Jess: Yeah you suffered there didn’t you. Who was she anyway?

Kris: Just some girl I met a few months back. She’s a complete nut job. I swear if you didn’t show up when you did then she would’ve thought I was telling a pack of lies.

Jess: Looks like you owe me then doesn’t it?

Kris: I suppose it does, but you’ll just have to wait. (He told her grinning and kissing her on the cheek.)

They sat there for almost an hour waiting for the train to pull up, when it did they found their seats and put their luggage to one side and sat talking while everyone else took their seats and the noise of hundreds of different conversations filled the air, but Jess and Kris blocked them out and tried their hardest to concentrate on each other.

At Kris’ parents house they were welcomed with open arms. Sylvia was making such a fuss of them while Tom was sitting in his chair with the TV on and the paper in his hands. He didn’t even look up at them when they arrived just muttered a word of hello, which annoyed his wife greatly.

Sylvia: Come on you two, I’ll show you to your rooms.

Kris: Mum I think I can find my own room thanks.

Sylvia: Well I’ll just show Jess to hers then.

Kris: Like hell you will, we don’t need two rooms. We’re sharing, aren’t we princess?

Jess: Kris, this is your mum’s house and what she says goes.

Kris: Well maybe we should go and find a hotel or something.

Sylvia: My we are sulky today, what’s got into you. I have no intentions of separating you unless you’d like separate rooms Jess?

Jess: Well I wouldn’t mind, but Kris is a little bit off today. Thank you for having us to stay though Sylvia.

Kris: This is my house as well, you going to thank me?

Sylvia seen the look on Kris’ face when he was talking to Jess and she started to feel a bit embarrassed and left. As soon as the door closed Kris started to laugh, as did Jess. She couldn’t believe the way he had his mum wrapped around his little finger, but then again she was exactly the same with her dad, whenever she wanted or needed anything all she had to do was say the word and it would be there for her. Kris dumped his things in the corner while Jess opened up her case and started to unpack her clothes, Kris lay on the bed watching her.

Jess: Aren’t you going to unpack?

Kris: There’s plenty of time for that. Come over here and sit with me

Jess: Kris, your parents are downstairs and well quite frankly it would be embarrassing for us as well as them.

Kris: Come on Jessica, live a little.

He said getting up and walking over to her, and began tickling her and kissing her neck, and of course she just couldn’t resist at first until she heard Kris’ mum calling up the stairs asking if they wanted some dinner.

Kris: Relax Jess.

Jess: It’s easy for you this is your house. I’m a guest and well I’d like to e able to look your parents in the eye when I talk to them.

Kris: And you will be able to, now come on let’s finish what we started.

Jess: I can’t I’m sorry. Not here, it’s just wrong.

Kris: Well I’ll just be downstairs trying to get a decent conversation out of my dad, look me up when you’ve finished.

Jess: Oh and the pettiness has kicked in already. You’re nothing but a big baby Kris Fisher. A big baby that spits his dummy out when he can’t get what he wants.

Kris: That’s me princess, and you’ll see that my way always turns out to be the best.

Jess was still unpacking her things an hour later when Kris went back up the stairs to see if she fancied going out somewhere. When she asked him if he’d done sulking he told her that it was for her own good, but she just stared at him waiting for him to explain exactly how it was for her own good, which led to them having a small argument and Kris walking off from her. She stopped what she was doing and sat down on the edge of the bed. It always happened, whenever a conversation about something petty went on they would always row, but when it came to more serious things then Kris would just brush it off.
Feeling tired Jess lay down on the bed and fell asleep only to be woken by Tom’s voice as he was knocking on the door and calling her name. She rubbed her eyes and sat up telling him to come in.

Tom: What’s he done this time love?

Jess: Oh he’s just being stroppy today, he’ll get over himself.

Tom: You’re too soft with him, if you let him walk all over you then it’ll be like that for as long as you’re together. He needs to grow up.

Jess: He’s perfectly fine the way he is, he just likes to get his own way.

Tom: Exactly, put your foot down with him.

Jess: Like I said I love him the way he is, and I really wouldn’t want him to change for anyone especially me. Too many people have conceptions of what he should be like when the person he is just now is more than enough for me.

Tom: What did he ever do to deserve some one like you? Oh by the way dinner won’t be long, Sylvia’s making a curry especially. I hope you like it.

Jess: I’m sure it’ll be lovely. I’ll be down in a bit.

Tom left the room and wandered back down the stairs and to his chair while Jess sorted herself out to go down and eat with the others. Kris was also back and slumped on the sofa flicking through the various channels on the television.

Jess made her way down the stairs and seen both men sitting in silence, each doing their own thing. Sylvia was pottering about in the kitchen, probably the smartest of all four of them because looking at Tom, the living room was his territory. Jess went into see her and asked if she’d like a hand but was told to go and sit herself down with the others, everything was under control. Not wanting to pester her anymore she did as she was told and went through to the sitting room, taking the seat closet to the window, which just happened to be the furthest away from Kris, who she was still annoyed at.

Kris: Eventually decided to show your face then.

Jess: Get over yourself Kris

Kris: Says you, little miss "the sun shines from my behind".

Jess: So it’s like that is it?

Tom didn’t know whether this was a serious argument or not as he sat and listened to the two of them bickering, but he kept well out of it. The only thing he did do was lower his paper and look from one face to the other but they were giving nothing away. Still clueless he got back to what he had been doing and Kris and Jess continued until she asked Tom whether the spare room was still available. Ha, she thought, that had soon shut Kris up, and then before anything else could be said they were being called through to the dining room for their food.
The four of them sat at the table eating, but it wasn’t very pleasant for Jess, she felt like an intruder until Sylvia began to ask her all sorts of questions to ease the tension that Kris had so obviously created.

Sylvia: So Jessica how have things been for you dear?

Jess: Great, well almost. (She said shooting Kris a dirty look.)

Kris: What and that’s my fault. You are so full of it Jess.

Tom: Not at the table Francis.

Sylvia: Leave them be Tom.

Jess: No he’s right Mrs Fisher. Kris is just sulking because he can’t have his own way. He wants me to bite, but I’m not giving him the satisfaction.

Sylvia: Kris, you’re supposed to be an adult. I think you should apologise to Jess.

Kris: Not in this lifetime. She started it anyway.

Jess: Oh behave Kris; you know that’s not true. This whole tantrum is because you couldn’t have what you wanted earlier. (To Kris’ parents) Excuse me, I seem to have lost my appetite, but thank you for taking the time to cook for me.

Jess smiled at Sylvia, pushed her chair out and left the dining room and went up the stairs to Kris’ room, while Kris sat at the table and received a lecture from his mum about how rude he was being to the one girl that would do just about anything for him.

Once she was safe and out of the way she threw herself down on the bed and just cried. She knew it was stupid and that there was no real need for it but she couldn’t help it. Since they’d arrived here in his parent’s house, Kris had nothing but make feel Jess small and inadequate, and she didn’t like it one bit. There was no need for it and he also knew it too as a few minutes later he was knocking on the door asking if he could go in. Jess couldn’t believe that he didn’t just walk in, it was his room after all but he was being thoughtful for a change. When he entered the room he sat down beside her and stroked back her hair that had fallen over her face, his fingers lingering on her face and he felt the tears running down her cheek.

Kris: Jess, I’m sorry. I thought we were just having one of our usual sessions. I didn’t think I’d really upset you.

Jess: Well you did, and I’m sure you’re thrilled. Why don’t you call Zak and tell him of your achievements.

Kris: Hey I’m trying here, come on give me a break. I know I was stupid but you weren’t as innocent as you like to make out.

Jess: I thought you were apologising. (She said sitting up and looking at him)

Kris: I am, but you of all people should know that Kris Fisher apologies are one of a kind, so how about you stop crying and I’ll make you a deal.

Jess: And what would the deal be?

Kris: Stop crying and I’ll tell you.

Their conversation carried on like that until Jess couldn’t help but laugh at him. Kris knew that it wouldn’t take long because no one could really stay mad at him, he was just far too lovable, and everyone knew that he knew it too. So apart from that he was arrogant but he could afford to be, even if it land him in the dog house every now and then.

Poor Jess but I'm glad Kris went to talk to her.
