Scene 14: It is a week later. The man drives back to the warehouse. Jess is so week and can barely move. The man walks towards her

Man: You certainly are your father’s daughter… a survivor. Not long to go now though and this will be over, well it will be for you anyway. You know I feel a little be guilty so I’m gonna quicken up this whole death process. Oh and er if you do somehow escape which lets face it, it is very unlikely that you will but of you do then there are a few more men that will also see to it that your dad gets what he deserves and trust me they won’t be as kind as I have been

The man then starts kicking her again and hitting her. Jess has now become even weaker. The man then laughs at her and walks out but when he gets outside he is in for a big shock.

Police are surrounding the place. He is told to put his hands in the air and they slowly approach him and he is arrested. Kris is also there watching anxiously. A police officer goes into the warehouse and carries out a barely conscious Jess. Kris can no longer hold back the tears. He runs to her. He carefully lifts her up and holds her in his arms. Soon the paramedics come and he is told to stand to the side so he does. He watches them put Jess in the ambulance and he becomes worried that she doesn’t seem to be responding. He goes in the ambulance with her.

Scene 15: Jess is immediately taken for tests. Kris decides to try and get hold of her parents who were staying in Hollyoaks because Jess had gone missing.
later Jess was wheeled back down into a room

Kris: doctor what’s happening?

Doctor: well we can’t say for sure but it will be touch and go as to whether she makes it through

Tears run down Kris’ cheeks. Jess’ parents come running through

Jess’s Mum: what’s happening where’s my daughter

Doctor: she’s in the best possible care

Jess’s Mum: I need to see her

Doctor: she’s in that room

Jess’s Mum pushes passed Kris to see her daughter

Jess’s Dad: this is all my fault. If I hadn’t of taken that money from Jack Dolton then he would never have taken Jess

Kris: what do you mean?

Jess’s dad: I owed this guy money and because I’m bankrupt I of course can’t pay him back now so he took Jess

Kris: YOU MEAN TO SAY THAT JESS IS IN HERE BECAUSE OF YOU

Jess’s dad: well… yeah

Kris looks at him in disgust

Jess’s dad: I dint know he would do this though did I?

Kris: well by the sounds you must have known what kind of guy you were getting involved with.

Jess’s Dad: look you can’t put the blame on me I mean what right do you have

Kris: I’m Jess’s boyfriend I have every right

Jess’s Dad: I find it hard to believe that my Jessica would remotely go for someone like you

Kris: why because I’m not a rich stuck up prat like you

Jess’s dad: I’m going to get some fresh air

Jess’s mum sees Jess’s dad walking away so she follows. Kris then goes into Jess who still isn’t awake. Tears run down his cheeks as he watches Jess lie there looking so bruised and weak

Kris: Jess please wake up I need you. The last week has been so tough without you I don’t think I could handle the rest of my life

Zoe comes in

Zoe: what’s happening

Kris: Zo I’ll explain later but if you don’t mind I’d like to be alone with Jess

Zoe: oh sure

Zoe exits. Outside she is talking to Zak. Both of them look very upset

Kris: you still look beautiful even when you’re cooped up here. You know I never thought that I’d come to HCC and fall in love with a drop dead… oh god sorry what am I saying? That didn’t come out right. What I mean to say is that I’d never have thought that I would fall in love someone as gorgeous as you.

Jess’s eyes flicker a couple of times and she starts to come round. Kris has a small smile through his tears.

Jess: Kris

Kris: don’t worry I’m here

Kris still has tears rolling down his cheeks. Jess looks around the room confused but then she suddenly remembers everything. Kris holds her hand tightly. Jess’s mum comes in.

Kris: go and get a nurse

Jess’s mum: why me

Kris: will you just do it?

Jess’s mum looks at Kris angered but goes to find a nurse

Kris: god your mum can’t half argue. I can see where you get it from (Kris smiles)

Jess tries to sit up but she is I too weak and in to much pain to do so

Kris: hey just lie down yeah

Jess’s mum comes in with a nurse

Nurse: ok do you two want to leave us to it so I can see how’s she is

Jess’s mum walks to the door

Jess: Kris please don’t leave me

Nurse: you can stay if you really want

Jess’s mum: yeah Jess we’re happy to stay with you

Jess: I actually meant just Kris

Jess’s mum’s face falls and she walks out

Fifteen minutes later

Nurse: well you have made progress Jessica but it is gonna take time before you’re back to your usual self

Kris: but she will be ok

Nurse: she should in time but as I say you’re a long way of from making a complete recovery. You were dehydrated, starved and very badly beaten.

Kris: don’t worry I’ll make sure she gets there

Kris half smiles at Jess

Nurse: I’ll leave you to it then

Nurse exits. Jess’s mum enters

Jess’s mum: right I’m gonna find your dad

Jess: why what happened?

Jess’s Mum: Well it would appear Kris scared him of

Kris: all I did was speak my mind

Jess’s Mum: You told him that Jess being in here was all his fault

Jess: well it kinda was

Jess’s Mum: (Horrified) Jessica how could you say such a thing

Kris: cause it’s true

Jess’s dad enters

Kris: why don’t I leave you to it

Kris goes and waits outside
