i agree with jp and stevie

spidey rules
and the spidey films are well better made

also, cant remember the exact question. but if anyone ever asks who the best super hero is, please remember that SUPERMAN and BATMAN are not options, batman is mortal and there is nothing super about superman on his home planet. so he is not superhuman. pthawl also. the Silver Surfer RULES!

oops.. nearly forgot... fantastico louise Smile

such amazing storytelling, Lou, you're so gifted. I love the pace, the whole build-up of what's inevitable. And you know how I want it to end!

I haven't commented this yet? I thought I had. The forum must have been playing up when I read it. I thought that was a fantastic chapter Lou! I loved the way you wrote that interaction. And, personally, I am more of a spidey fan!

Very short part here, hope its ok!

PART 33 – Judas

He could feel his eyelids feel ever so slightly lighter; as if a seal had been broken, allowing them to widen. Yet at the same time they felt heavy due to the yearning he felt in his body to slip back into slumber.

But his trip back to the land of nod was not to be.

‘John Paul,’ came a whisper like a breeze through his near subconscious state.

He opened his eyes once again and found them to be peering into another, familiar set. As he gazed into the huge brown eyes in front of him; he began to fill up with the feeling of guilt.

‘I’ve missed you,’ his companion said, ‘I’ve been waiting to have you lie down next to me.’

All John Paul could do was nervously smile; what had happened last night tormenting his mind and making him wish that he wasn’t being gazed into so intensely like this, with the deep brown eyes looking deeply into his eyes where his deepest, darkest secrets were kept.

‘Did you miss me?’

‘Of course I did,’ he replied, sincerely meaning it, ‘I shouldn’t have stormed off like that Stephen, I shouldn’t have not told you where I went.’

‘Well what matters is, is that you’re here now John Paul,’ Stephen whispered as softly as he stroked his boyfriend’s cheek, eliciting a small, yet warm smile on his face.

He leaned in on him and gave him a small kiss with his face looking blissful as he approached and contorted as he pulled away.

‘You smell like a brewery,’ he stated, still softly and void of judgement, ‘Where did you end up last, a club?’

He thought about his answer to this; he had two options yet both seemed sleazy to him either way. He could either admit to where he was; a truth that would hold no suspicion to Stephen yet would make John Paul feel guilty about telling him, or lie and say he went to a club, leaving his boyfriend faced with images of uncertainty, images of John Paul and strangers and John Paul and infidelity, but at the same time, he wouldn’t have to summon up memories from the night before if he lied, he wouldn’t have to sit and tell Stephen how he had ran and went to Craig for a shoulder to cry on, so to speak, and he wouldn’t have to face the fact that last night he wanted to…last night he almost….

He looked at Stephen, which should he choose; discomfort for him or discomfort for himself.

‘No,’ he said shaking his head, ‘I went to Craig’s and we got hammered.’

There. He had admitted the truth and Stephen looked relieved, but this only caused for John Paul to inwardly cringe; Stephen really shouldn’t be this pleased about it.

‘I woke up when you came to bed,’ Stephen admitted, ‘But I just pretended to be asleep in case…in case we started arguing again. I wasn’t sure if you’d still be mad at me, if you still are actually.’

John Paul felt his own heart ache slightly, the thought of Stephen going to bed thinking that he hated him causing this. If only he knew that his boyfriend had went to bed hating himself.

‘So, how come you came home, it was pretty late, why not just stay over at Craig’s?’ Stephen asked when no reply came from his partner.

Because I didn’t trust myself, because Craig’s fiancé reminded me I shouldn’t be there; that’s what he wanted to stay, what he wanted to get off his chest, but he couldn’t say that, he couldn’t break his boyfriend’s heart in the same instance as soothing his worried mind.

‘Because I didn’t want to have you waking up this morning all alone,’ John Paul whispered his lie, ‘Because I never want to wake up without you.’

He was surprised at the sincerity this lie held, but was surprised even more so at his next action. He leaned over and looked Stephen straight in the eye, as if trying to reinforce this lie, as if forcing it upon him.

‘I will never leave you,’ he promised, ‘You are the only one I want to be with.’

And on that, he sealed his declaration with a kiss, a kiss full of lies, a kiss full betrayal, a kiss that Judas himself would have been very proud of.

John Paul McQueen, he scowled in his own head, you liar.

Wonderful chapter Lou!

I thought that was Craig waking him up at first! Good little twist there! Smile

Poor Stephen. He has no idea what nearly happened! But I feel sorry for John Paul too, imagine how guilty he'd feel if something had happened between him and Craig??!!

Can't wait for the next chapter! Big Grin

I thought that too! Poor JP - nothing happened but he's feeling really guilty anyway because of his feelings which he can't control because Craig's sending mixed signals so he's getting all confused. Stephen sounds lovely too and it'll be sad to see him get hurt Frown
Yet another fantastic chapter. I eagerly await another one Smile

Oh thanks for the comments guys. Just thought i better have an aftermath of the night before. I was going to do a Craig aftermath but i think i'll incorporate it into the next part. The next part might be a little bit confusing, oh and Charlie's going to make a big impact! Lol.

This might seem randon....

PART 34 – Water Balloons

Charlie Dean had always been a bright boy; eager to learn and eager to answer. However, this hadn’t always served him well. He knew that this was why he was so often left alone in the playground, or why he was left until last to play football or why his friends would forsake him in order to go play with the more popular kids when asked. He knew that he had something that they didn’t and he knew that the other children’s behaviour towards him was caused by this.

He had tried to fix it, he had tried to dumb himself down in order to fit in but even at his young age, he knew that there was no good in pretending to be somebody that he wasn’t, he knew that ultimately this would lead to even more unhappiness; he just wished that the other kids could accept him; that they could accept that he was intelligent, but also a good, normal boy that they could be friends with.

He had found two friends who could do this; Simon and Robbie, but he knew that the lure of the popular kids sometimes seemed more tempting to even these two. Often they would ditch Charlie, just to play in the other kids silly games when invited, not giving a damn that he would be left on his own.

‘Never mind them Charlie,’ his daddy had told him, ‘Kids do silly things, they probably don’t realise they’re hurting your feelings. Just tell them and they’ll stop.’

Charlie smiled at this; his daddy had been right. When he had told his friends how he felt when they abandoned him, they both apologised for doing it; Simon had even told Emily Grimshaw, the most popular girl in their class, that no, he didn’t want to play daddy to her mummy, not unless Charlie could play. The two were ultimately still left out of the game, but it still meant a lot to him.

So daddy had been right, Charlie just needed to speak out and say what was really on his mind. He smiled once more at the thought of his daddy; he loved him more than anything, even more than he loved his bike or his Playstation. Often he found himself upset at the fact that he only had a daddy, that his mummy wasn’t here to love him in person, but a lot of the time he knew that his daddy loved him twice as hard as any other daddies loved their kids, that he loved him in a measure that made up for his mummy not being able to. He was his better than any other daddies he knew; Simon’s was never in the house to play with him and Robbie’s lived in a different house than him. His daddy was the best, he was so much fun, he was knew how to make him laugh and, more recently, listened to Charlie as if his opinions really mattered. He was extremely truthful with him, answering questions that Nana Frankie said weren’t for little boys. Like how Auntie Evie got her baby in her stomach without Uncle Craig knowing (he had heard Uncle Craig tell Nana that he didn’t know she was pregnant), or why that man, PJ, called his friend his boyfriend when he should have a girlfriend; or why Uncle Darren didn’t stay with his girlfriend and still with his mummy, even though he was a big boy?

He laughed at his daddy’s answer at this. He told him that even though Uncle Darren was a big boy, he still acted like a little one, so needed his mummy to look after him. Charlie thought that was funny, especially when his daddy told him that he was probably smarter than Uncle Darren and then commented that Eddie, their pet turtle, probably was too.

Still giggling away to himself, Charlie looked around the room he was sat in; Uncle Darren’s. He often found himself in here when he was left to his own devices, he often wondered in when he found it vacant, out of boredom and curiosity. He knew he shouldn’t be in here, but there was so much to play with, so much to ponder over. He looked into the mirror that sat on his Uncle’s chest of drawers, laughing at his reflection as he done so. The hairstyle he had created for himself with his Uncle’s slimy hair gel was
