I Hate Him!!




I open my eyes and just like every day since I arrived here, I look around to see where I’ am. Once my brain and eyes have registered I realise that I’m still in my room in Hollyoaks. I part of me is happy but the other part of me wants to know when I will be going back or if I will be going back to reality. I wipe my eyes and grab my nightgown off the back of my door. I quickly look in the mirror just to see if I look okay because I don’t want to walk out looking like death. But unusual for me this morning I don’t look to bad usually I do look like death.
I open my door and step out into the hallway. And straight away I hear voices. Then it hits me…KRIS. Oh god yesterday. The kiss this is going to be awkward. Why does this have to happen to me? Well I can’t run back in my room now. I have to face him some time even if it kills me. I keep walking trying to be as calm and relaxed as possible. God, how can I be relaxed? I enter the living room and I see Kris with his back to me making breakfast or someth…..WHAT!! Oh My God. What the hell is he doing here?

‘Hey, you must be one of Kris’s roommates’

What was he thinking? He must have slept with him. Is that how much I mean to him he was quick to pull wasn’t he. I feel the anger inside of me build up.

‘Nathan’

That’s all I could say. I could not believe it. I thought I had got rid of this guy; he is like some sort of comeback king. I HATE HIM!! I know that’s mean but I can’t stand the guy. I’m not jealous or anything I’m just annoyed. Why is God punishing me?
Kris has now turned around. He looks me straight in the eye. He looks a bit guilty but also surprised.

Nathan: How do you know my name?

Ooops. I can’t tell him the real reason they would both laugh at me. Just imagine if I said, ‘Oh I know you because I remember you from 20 years ago and I still hated your guts back then. You where with Kris and I wanted him to myself but you just kept cropping up everywhere just like now. And if I remember rightly you didn’t like me either’. Yeah I was just going to have to make an excuse, I couldn’t think though.

Jess: …Prison.

Kris and Nathan: Prison.

Why? Why did I have to say that? Out of all the things I could have said I had to say the most stupid, unbelievable thing ever!!! Like Prison. But I had to try and keep my cool.

Jess: Erm…

Kris: Have you even been to prison?

Jess: ….Once.

Kris: What for?

Jess: My Nan.

What the hell. My Nan. This was just getting worse; I kept coming out with these awful reasons. Someone needed to stop me. I had lied now I couldn’t just say I was lying, I’m so stupid. They just looked at me puzzled, I was so embarrassed and nervous that’s probably why I was coming up with these stupid sentences.

Nathan: Your Nan?

Jess: Yeah…she went through a rough patch where….she didn’t pay her taxes.

Was that the best I could come up with?

Kris: Okay. Well how come you saw Nathan in prison and how come you knew his name.

Jess: I knew someone there called Nathan and I thought that he was the same Nathan but he isn’t obviously. It’s confusing. Erm…I have to go get washed so I will just leave you to it.

Thank god. I walk back to my room knowing that I have made a complete fool out of myself. Great. Oh and by the way Rest in Peace Nan.

I closed the door behind me and slide down the side of it. I’m in such a dilemma. I always used to be the young girl with the ponies, the boyfriends, the money I had the perfect life, I was always dreaming, I had hopes and dreams. But as I got older those hopes and dreams just turned it into something that seemed impossible. My life seemed to get harder and I seemed to get more and more depressed by the day and I always knew that I wanted to die with no regrets but that was the problem I was going to die with all sorts of regrets back in my real life. I thought that this life or this time I would be able to get it right but it was proving difficult. I wish things would start to go my way for once.
I heard a knock at my door it made me jump a little but I immediately got up from where I had been sitting and walked over to my bed and sat down.

‘Come in’

I said. I really hope this isn’t Kris; I’ve already made a fool out of myself in front of him so I really can’t face him now. The door opens and I see the person on the other side. I sigh.

Zoe: Hey honey.

Jess: Hi

Zoe walks into the room and closes the door behind her. She has this enormous smile on her face, that’s what makes me smile. I’ve never been able not to smile when she does.

Jess: So why are so happy?

Zoe: Well, me and Will are what you might call ‘Official’...well after last night we are.

Jess: Oh.

Great. That’s not the best image to see first thing in the morning, the grim reaper and Wonder Woman doing it but it was the image I saw.
It seemed like everyone was doing it, Kris and Nathan, Zoe and Will. But I could always count on Zak though he never seems to pull.

Jess: You seem really happy Zo so I’m happy for you.

Zoe: I’ am. Anyway how was your night?

Should I tell her about the kiss? Or should I just leave it. She will probably just say what I already know and Kris wouldn’t be too pleased if I started telling people about what happened. I think I will leave it even though she is my best friend and I can trust her but I think I should just keep it too myself.

Jess: …It was good, I missed you on the dance floor though and probably for the first time in ages I didn’t get really drunk.

Bonfire Morning…!!


It had been a few days since the events of Halloween and everything seemed to be getting back to normal again. Well pretty normal, the awkwardness between me and Kris had gone and so had Nathan. Thank God. But unfortunately I had a feeling that wasn’t the last of him no he always pops up somewhere. Oh and the flat had turned it some sort of love nest for Will and Zoe. Urrgh, I liked the fact that Zoe was happy but I wasn’t to keen on there sort of public relationship I mean couldn’t they just stay in their own rooms and kiss each others faces off in there. Maybe if I had someone I wouldn’t be too bothered but the fact was I didn’t!! And while I’ve started moaning I might as well continue with the fact that Will knows that Zak still has feelings for her so he shouldn’t be literally shoving it in his face that he got the girl and Zak didn’t. Never mind there is not much I can do about these things.

Anyway on a high note it is bonfire night today so that means we actually have a real reason to get out and get wasted or maybe not. And I don’t have to be stuck in with Mr and Mrs Love.
I press the search button on my laptop and wait for the screen to come up. These old machines are so annoying back in my time it’s all touch screens and projectors. I have to adjust back into 2006 life so that means the music, the clothes, the technology and the people. I reach out and grab my cup of tea and take a sip. I see Kris come through the door, he looks…great, my head tilts to the side for a better view.

Kris: Afternoon.

He says putting his bag on the chair. I shake my head and come back down to the real world.

Jess: Hiya, Have you picked up the milk?

Kris: Well by the looks of it you have used the last of it for your tea so you should go and get some as I’m not your personal butler.

He closes the fridge door and I then give him look so that he knows that I didn’t appreciate that comment.

Kris: So what are you up to?

He said referring to the laptop in front of me.

Jess: I’ve just been finishing off some stupid, pointless essay and now I’m doing some online shopping.

Kris: I wish I could just kick back and relax with a nice cup of tea and do some shopping in the comfort of my own home but no I’m skint so I will just have to go to some charity shop and buy some rags to keep me warm for the winter.

Jess: Oh yeah I’m sure Kris. If you’re really skint then I’m sure I could lend you some money.

Kris: Thanks, well I will need some money for tonight anyway.

Jess: I was thinking about tonight. I thought we should just get some alcohol and food and then go on the roof and watch the fireworks.

Kris: The roof?

I got that idea from Elliot we always used to go up there star gazing with him and it wasn’t that bad either.

Jess: Yeah, it’s easy to get up there and all have to do is buy some cheap booze form Drive n Buy and get some food.

Kris: What if some fireworks come flying at us? We will be dead.

Jess: I will be sure to put you in direct aim of the fireworks. Haha

I got an evil look from Kris for that.

Kris: Seriously though I’m not risking my life for beer and Doritos on some sort of roof.

Jess: Stop being such a drama queen mister. Listen it will be fine the fireworks are going off from the park so we just be able to see them and I’m not going to go up on the roof to get killed. Anyway I will mention it to the others.

Kris: You would put me on that roof to get killed.

Jess: Well yes but that’s not the point is it?

Kris: Don’t even think about lady. Have you seen me I’m trying to juggle all of yours and Jess junk here!! I’m going to topple over if I have to stand like this for much longer. And what is it with you and cleaning? It’s not like some ones going to come in and check for specs of dust around the place, Zoe.

We were all stood in the kitchen with all of our items to take up onto the roof for are little party. The boys where carrying most of the stuff though. Kris, Zak and Will had hold of all the pillows, food, blankets, cameras, torches and extra clothes (if we get cold). I was in charge of the marshmallows
