A young baby was sat in a high chair. One candle glowing in front of her. This candle was sat on a cake. People around her singing happy birthday as her Mummy stroked her soft brown hair lovingly. An older man was filming the event and an older woman was taking pictures. Snap after snap after snap. The song soon finished and the little girl’s Mummy blew the candle out for her while everyone else clapped. The Mum took the little girl out of the high chair and spun her around. “Your Mummy’s big girl now aren’t you. It doesn’t seem like a year at all. Little baby Lily Rose isn’t a baby anymore is she?” Lily giggled at her Mother’s enthusiasm. Pointing to her Mummy’s mouth, her Mum pretended to gobble her hand up. This caused the baby to laugh even more.
“Jessica have you got time to have this little ones cake before you go?” Asked Lily’s Grandma, who rubbed Lily’s cheek.
“Yes Mummy, we are planning on leaving in an hour or so.” Jess rested Lily on her hip and went to cut a small bit of cake for her. Lily was immediately placed it in her mouth, while Jess occasionally removed bits from her messy fingers.

Once the party had finished Jess took Lily to their soon to be old bedroom. The boxes in the room were all packed. Jess was sitting on the bed with Lily on her knee.
“Your Daddy would love you so much Princess. You’re exactly like him, his cheeky little smile and his dimples; your personality is very like his too. You know you can wrap Mummy around your little finger just like he used to. If only it was easier. What your Mummy did was very wrong and she will never forget that, your Daddy will never forgive her but I promise you Lily one day he will know about you and you will know him. That’s the least you deserve. You can’t suffer for what your Mummy did. She was very silly back then but everything is ok now because I’m going to look after you like you have looked after me.”
Jess placed Lily on the floor, who straight away clutched on to the bed while trying to walk and she babbled to herself. Jess blinked away the tears that had formed in her eyes before kneeling down and from under her bed she took out a box full of letters. The pictures from Lily’s birthday were sitting on Jess’ bed as she had just printed them off along with a DVD titled Lily’s first birthday. She placed them in an envelope with a letter and licked it closed. Scribbling an address on the envelope, she placed it at the back of the rest of the letters in the box which was then placed into another box and she taped that box up. Lily had fallen on her bottom several times but continued trying to walk. The boxes were then one by one moved in to Jess’ car.

Outside stood Jess, her Mum and Dad and Lily who was being held by her Grandpa. Jess and her Mum were hugging. “You look after yourself and Lily. Phone when you get there dear.”
“Mummy we will be fine.”
“Where is it you shall be staying tonight?”
“Coedpoeth, I will cut through...Chester then we will stay at the hotel I booked there. In the morning we will then make a move to York.”
“The house is all ready correct?”
“Yes the house is ready; I’ve been on the phone for most of the day checking. All the major things like the sofa, Lily’s cot and a fridge have arrived. Everything will be fine, we will be fine and Jonathan is on call if we ever need him. He’s helped sort everything out and made sure everything is in place for when we arrive.”
“He’s a lovely gentleman keep hold of him.”
“I know Mummy; don’t worry I’m not letting him go.”
“Will he be in York when you arrive?”
“No at the moment he is in Manchester but a few days later he is going to meet me and Lily there.” Her Mum took Lily from her Dad while Jess and he hugged. “Take care Princess. Keep in touch.”
“I will Daddy. Now come on Lily, it’s time to go.” Jess strapped Lily into her car seat. It took a while as Lily had decided she didn’t like her seat anymore, she would rather fidget. She much preferred standing up since she had learned to do so. Her new phase now though was trying to walk, she wasn’t succeeding yet but she had her Mums determination. Jess said her last goodbye to her Mum and Dad before getting in to the car herself. Waving bye, she drove out of the gates and set on her trip to her new house and life.

I dunno how many times I've read this already and told you that I love it already but here I go again Second thoughts maybe not.
I wonder what those letters, pictures and dvd are all about, and more importantly who are they for?
I still don't like this John person or whoever he is, and he isn't even in the fic yet. lol

Night was drawing in but the sky was still light with it being the summer month of August. Jess had been driving for hours; Lily fell asleep within a matter of minutes from starting the journey. If Jess was right they should be arriving in Coedpoeth in half an hour, an hour at most. She was nearly all the way through Chester, she just had to drive through Hollyoaks then it was over. The car started to slow down until it came to a halt. Jess turned the key to get the ignition started but all it did was hum. Hitting the steering wheel in frustration, Jess pulled her phone out and hit speed dial. It rang for a few seconds then she heard “Hello Jonathan Smith speaking.”
“Hi it’s me, well Jess. The car has broken and I don’t have a clue what to do and worse of all we are stuck in Hollyoaks because I had to take a diversion with the other roads being closed and Lily is going to get hungry soon and I’ve got nothing on me because I was planning to eat at the hotel. Please come save me.”
“Hey sweetie calm down. Of course I will come and save you; it will take me about an hour to get there. You will be ok Jess you know that. He might not even be there.”
“Yeh but knowing him he probably is and I don’t think I can face him.”
“Jess everything will be fine, you have Lily what could go wrong?”
“I could end up seeing Zoe who I suspect knows about what happened and then there’s Lily’s Dad and...and Ddd....please just be as quick as you can.”
“I will be there as soon as I can Princess. See you there.”
“Thank you. Love you.” She hung up. “It looks like we will be here for a while Lily.”

Jess climbed out the car and went to get Lily out who was still fast asleep. She unfastened her belt and gently picked Lily up. Cuddling her, she whispered in her ear “Come on Lily Rose wake up for Mummy.” Lily’s sparkling blue eyes slowly opened. As soon as Lily had fully woken up she was placed on the floor where she stood still taking in her surroundings. Jess put Lily’s cream cardigan on over her pink embroidered pinafore dress to keep her from getting cold. Sure it was summer but it was Hollyoaks. Fastening Lily’s cardigan, Jess then reached for her jacket and bag. It was leather like her old one, her old one was never packed when she left. She took Lily’s hand in hers. “Come on Princess walk for Mummy.”
Lily put one foot in front of the other but before long she ended up on her bottom, so Jess picked her up and placed her on her hip. “I bet you are getting thirsty. Mummy will have to get you some milk and see if Tony will heat it up for you.” Jess brushed Lily’s hair out of her eyes. They went to Drive and Buy before making their way to Il Gnosh.

From afar stood a tall man with blonde hair watching Jess and Lily’s every move. At first it didn’t look like Jess. She had changed a lot but then again having a child is life changing. Her hair was once again shoulder length but still brown. She was wearing dark jeans, a red kaftan top and a leather jacket. She looked good, especially if the child is hers. The small girl fell over so Jess picked her up. Surely the child wasn’t his. There are moments in people’s lives when they come to a crossroad and the decision they make at that moment can change the rest of their life.

A Jaguar XF zoomed into the village; it stopped outside of Il Gnosh. A tall man stepped out; he had dark brown hair and a Ralph Lauren suit on. Jess rushed outside with Lily in her arms. Wrapping his arms around Jess and Lily, Jonathan kissed Jess on her head. A ring on Jess’s left hand sparkled in the sun. Jonathan then took Lily from Jess and swung her in the air. This set her off giggling. “Has everything been ok Jessica?”
“Now you are here yes, I just want to leave. Luckily I haven’t seen anyone though and they haven’t seen me.” How wrong was she?
“Good now show me to this car and let’s see what I can do.”
“I just need to go get Lily’s things and pay for my drink. I will be back in a minute.”
“Let me deal with that Jessica.”
“You can’t, you’ve done too much for me already and Lily.”
“I can still treat you.” Once everything was paid for Jess took Jonathan to her car. He had a look and tried to fix it but it was no use. “Princess do you want the good news or bad news?”
“If the good news is that my car is fixed then I will have that.”
“Afraid not, it needs to go to a garage. But the good news is I’ve recently invested in a flat here so you can stay there for as long as needed.”
“Great now all that needs to happen is for me to bump in to Kris or Zoe even then it will feel like home again. No this can’t be happening. Honestly. Please tell me you are joking.” Jess ran her fingers through her hair and rubbed her eyes.
“I’m sorry Princess. I can stay with you tonight but tomorrow I have to go back.”
“Don’t be its not your fault. It’s just I couldn’t imagine anything worse.”

Zoe and Kris were walking through the village. They stopped at Drive and Buy so Kris could get some cash. Outside boxes were being unloaded from a car. A young couple outside were chatting about things that needed to be taken in straight away. “Looks like someone new is moving in ey”
“Yeh looks that way. Maybe they will bring some fun this way....Wait Kris that’s.....No how could she? The bitch.” Zoe started to storm off but Kris grabbed her arm.
“Zoe don’t.”
“Why shouldn’t I? After what she did to me and you for that matter. Give me one good valid reason why I shouldn’t.” Silence. “Yeh I thought so, now can you excuse me.”

Jess had just gone back inside to check on Lily. Lily was happily gripping on to the sofa and taking a step after a step after a step. Jess was putting up the travel coat for Lily to sleep in. Suddenly someone barged through the door and started shouting. Jess peered up and there she was her ex best friend. Kris soon followed. Then James came through. “Sorry Princess they came through before I had chance to stop them.” Jess froze. Lily froze. Kris froze. Fear fled through Jess’ veins. This was the moment she had dreaded and dreamed about, Kris seeing his daughter. All the love she had ever felt and had tried to block out flew back in to her heart. A warm feeling filled her chest.
Zoe continued shouting. “How could you? You’re a heartless bitch, you were supposed to be my best friend and you do that. He was my boyfriend for goodness sake. And you had your own boyfriend. Don’t you care about anyone else’s feelings? Everything I went through with Will you saw it; you saw what I was like. He tried to kill me, then Darren came along and everything was fine. You told me to get rid of him then you sleep with him why? ” Zoe then saw Lily standing by the sofa trying to walk. “You had his baby; you had my boyfriend’s baby. That just puts everything in to perspective.” Before Jess could say anything Kris did.
“Actually she’s mine, she’s my daughter.”

I am not impressed that that posh moron is still calling her Princess, what did I tell you before?
He may be all kind and everything but I don't like him, there's just something about him, something not right. lol

Oh and thanks for making me cry, but I suppose I shall let you off seeing as it was a proud moment when Kris spoke up before Jess could say anything. At least now he actually knows that she was pregnant. lol
