This story follows on from when Kris and Jess have just made up after the whole 'HIV' storyline.
After returning from the square, zoe, kris and jess are in the flat.
Zoe: well thank goodness for that, you know, i wasn't joking about earlier, me and the other housemates would have voted one of you out.
Kris: And the 3 of us know that it was never going to be now don't we.....*looks over to Jess*
Jess: No, because you are the 'perfect' housemate, aren't you Kris, everyone's dying to live with you, aren't they? *smirks*
Kris: Well that didn't stop you apoligising to me publically, and humiliating yourself infront of the whole UNI, did it?
Jess: I suppose not. You know you really are......*zoe interupts*
Zoe: Enough now children, remember my warning, any way, i'm going of to meet Will at the pub, are you sure you two are going to be alright left alone?
Kris: Haddiddy haha Zoe, enough of the sarcasm tone, leave that to me, thank you.
Jess: What Kris means to say is that, 'Yes zoe we can be left on our own' even if we do kill each other......
Zoe: Fair does, have fun!
zoe walks out the flat, but poke her head through the door.
Zoe: Oh and if you do decide to kill each other, make sure theres no blood left on the carpet for the rest of us to clean up!
zoe walks off, this time she has walked properly, and closed the door behind her. An overwhelming silence grew between Kris and Jess. Jess longed for things to be back to the way they were, right before the HIV lies, back to where, they gave into their feelings for one another. She wanted Kris to feel the same, so desperatly, little did she know, Kris was thinking the same thing, and going over and over it in his head. Everytime he went to say something, his concience got the better of him, and failed to speak.
A few minutes passed. Neither of them have said a word. They were standing in the exact same postions from when Zoe departured. Jess looked up and focused her eyes on Kris, who also looked up at the same time at Jess. And suddenly they burst out laughing.
Jess: Look at us all serious. I though i'd never see the day.
Kris: me neither, thats one thing we can agree on.
Jess: Yeh makes a change, huh'?
Kris: you know it feels like we've only just met or something, the tension...is.....un... *jess interupts him*
Jess: bearable, yeh i know. Kris, i, i...i...you know, i am really sorry for the way i treated you. I mean it. i really do. I really don't know what came over me last week.
Kris: Prehaps the thought i'd given you a disease....
Jess: Yeh, but i had no right for treating you, the way i did.
Kris: Look Jess, like i said earlier, i have accepted your apology, as far as i'm concerned it's water under the bridge. Life's too short, y'know. Anyway enough of all this 'apology' stuff. i've forgiven and forgotten.
Jess is overwhelmed by his speech and runs over to him, hugging him.....

kris: hhmmm prehaps, just beg a lil' longer? actually sounds quite good, maybe i should have played on it for a while longer...
Jess: oi shuttit!
Kris: ummm jess you can let go now you know
Jess still had her arms tightly wrapped around Kris, she didn't know why, but by doing this she felt safe, confortable and wanted. She wanted to hold onto him as long as possible. Kris felt the same. but he didn't want to let onto Jess. After everything he thought to himself, she can't possibly want me.....
Jess: Oh gosh, i'm sorry....dunno what came over me.....
Kris: maybe the likes of me? *kris smiles*
Jess: Maybe just maybe. *jess smiles back* but i guess you'll never know.
Kris: y'know perhaps, 1 more hug won't hurt, after all the torture you put me through this past week.
*jess pokes him*
Jess: you'd be so lucky Kris Fisher.
*kris rolls his eyes at her*
Kris: i wish i was *muttered under his breath*
Jess: what was that?
Kris: Just saying maybe we should go and tell the rest of the housemates it's safe to come back here after world war 3?!
Jess: Or prehaps we could keep em guessing for a few more minutes....
Kris: My thoughts exactly Jessica Harris! My thoughts exactly...

Jess's phone suddenly start to beep.
Jess: Oh god, that's my phone....where did i put it.....
Jess searching frantically everywhere, on the sofa,on the kitchen side, on the table....she starts to lose her rag...
Kris: Is this what you're looking for?
kris holds up jess's phone
Jess: Yes i believe it is, where did you find it!?
Kris: prehaps where you left it, over there....
Kris points to the cupboard near the t.v
Jess: Oh yeh....didn't think of looking there.. anyway can i have it please?
Kris: What's it worth?
Jess: A good £300 actually.
Kris: right. and what happened to spending apropiatly? *kris gives a slight smirk to Jess who recives it and give's him a angry look*
Jess: Ya see I,myself didn't buy it...my...
Kris: Let me stop you there Jess, let me guess, Your dad got it for you?!
Jess: Hmmm Maybe. *jess smiles* Anyway enough with the phone talk, i wanna see who texted me....
*jess snatches the phone of Kris*
Kris: Manners, Jess, Manners.
Jess: Whatever, Kris, Whatever.
Jess looks at her phone and reads the message. It was from Mark, her ex-bf.
HI JESS. JUST WONDERIN' HOW YA DOING? MAYBE GIVE ME A CALL SOMETIME, WE COULD HOOK-UP OR SOMETHING...ANYWAY TAKE CARE X MARK X
why the hell is he texting me? Jess thought to herself. Haven't heard from him since the Gilly incident....what does he want. Jess tried to push it right to the back of her mind. Kris was wondering who it was from....
Kris: Anyone interesting?
Jess: Well you didn't text me, so No. noone interesting. *Kris gives a smile to jess. Who smile backs at him*
As much as she wanted to forget about the text, she wanted to also know what MARK wanted? why had he text her all of a sudden? Why did he have to come back into her life?

Jess and Kris had been sat in the dog in the pond for just over an hour now.They went to meet Zoe and Will. Jess was staring into space, thinking about the text message.
Kris: Jess...are you ok?....you've been quiet ever since you got that text....*kris is slightly scared by this*
zoe had just come back from getting a round in Zoe: What text? pina colada - Jess. Pint - Kris. Yeh so what text?....Jess? JESS!
Jess: Ehh..What?...i'd be fine if you stop asking me stupid questions... Ok. Just leave it.
Kris: Excuse us for actually caring about you.
Jess: Kris...I'm..
Kris interupts.
Kris: You know, what jess, save it. I can't be bothered with you. your not worth my time. *kris stands up and heads to the bar with his pint*
Zoe: Oh ignore him, he's just a drama queen. Jess, what is it? i know theres something wrong...
Jess: Oh zoe. i'm just so confused.
Zoe: Confused? about what.
kris overhears this and mutters to himself Kris: probably over what to wear...
Jess and zoe don't hear this.
Jess: well...i got this text earlier from my ex, Mark.
Zoe: Mark? i've heard you mention him before...Mark..
Jess: yeh well...i....dunno what to do....i want to know what he wants....i don't know why he's suddenly butted back into my life. I just realised that i really like Kris.
Zoe: KRIS!..
Jess: Thanks, tell the whole world, why don't you.
Zoe: i'm sorry, i just....never realised you REALLY liked him...
Jess: Well i do and i can't possibly do anything about it...
Zoe: Why not....?
Jess: Because of the circumstances and because it's Kris. Kris wouldn't take me seriously. Theres noway he could feel the same about me, after what i'd done, and now i just blown it again ,after having a go at him...ah god.
Zoe: don't worry about it, Kris just....i dunno....
Jess: Kris is different to all the other guys i've met before. the one guy i want, is the one guy i can't have, it's like forbidden fruit or something...
with this jess knocks back her pina colada.
Zoe: heyy...calm down a bit!
Jess: dutch courage...
Zoe: eh?
jess stands up walking over to the bar where Kris is standing. Kris is standing with a guy. Jess doesn't seem to recognise him. Kris see's jess coming over, and turns his back to her, and gets closer to the man. Jess stops walking over, horrified and hurt by what she saw next.
Jess runs out of the pub, with tears running down her face...zoe trying to catch up to her.
Zoe: Jess...*slightly out of breath* JESS...slow down.....JEEESSSS! what's wrong??
Zoe stops as Jess continues to walk away.
Zoe: whats happened? *zoe calls after her - but she's too far away now to hear her*
Zoe headed back towards the pub, to see what made Jess run out like that. maybe Mark texted her again?? that wouldn't make her run out like that though...would it?
Will suddenly walks over to Zoe
Will: Zo..Zo...where did you go?
Zoe: Where did you go more like?
Will: I told you, i had to go to drive'n'buy...
Zoe: Jess ran off.....
Will:Why?
Zoe: that's what i'm trying to find out...
Zoe looks over to the bar to find Kris sanding there with a guy, she recognised him....she had seen around the uni. They were standing quite close.Zoe walks up to him.
Zoe: Kris...what was all that about?
Kris: What about what?
Zoe: Jess....Running out??
Kris: Oh she probably had to check her hair or something, you know how shallow is.
Zoe: I'm being serious Kris.
Kris: So am i Zo. Believe you and me.
Zoe: Look what happened... *zoe starts to whisper* who's that guy?
Kris: what guy?
Zoe: the guy right there...you know what ive had enough, i'd get more answers out of a chocolate tea-pot then you. I'm going back to see Jess. I don't know what's happened but somethings upset her. And right now all she wants is a friend. But i guess you're not needed in that department are you..
Kris. Zo...
Zoe: No Kris,stop right there. hope you have fun with your new found 'friend'. I'm off.
Zoe goes upto will, kisses him on the cheek.
Zoe: i'll see you later, i'd better go back and see Jess.
Will: I'll come with you...
Zoe: No you're alright, stay here, try and knock some sense into him *points to KRIS*
Kris: y'know it's rude to point AND stare.
Zoe: well it's rude to actually be rude Kris. Anyway see ya.
Zoe exits the pub. leaving Will, Kris and his friend at the bar.
Will: you know mate, they probably need a girly chat or something.
Kris: i know what jess needs. And that's a good slap.
Will: What is it with you two? you're always at each others throat?
Kris: What is it, Question time?
Will: you know Zoe was right..
Kris: About what?
Will: That you're just rude.
Kris: Ah will, go away.
Will: was just thinking that myself, you know, Kris. After last week, i was there for you, a good friend. And now you're going to have no friends, cos of the way you treat people. I'm going.
Kris: thank heavens for that, when i need a lecture, i'll ask my mum.
will walks off Will: *smirks to himself* it's all coming together.... *to himself*
Jess has returned back to the flat after a disastrious drink at the pub. Why? she thought. Why? did he have to go and do that? why? all that was ging through her mind was WHY? She kept walking up and down the corridoor of the flat.She suddenly settled down her face away from the door watching tv. Suddenly the door went.
Jess: Look Zo...i know you wanna be a friend in need and everything but you didn't see what i just saw...you haven't just experience what i've just experienced. I thought i had it all settled my life. College, UNI, Job, Marriage, Kids. But life doesn't go the way you want it does it. I like Kris, i don't just like him, i really like him, i'll like him more then he ever realises, the trouble is he'll never know the way i feel about him. And he will never feel the same about me. so i don't know why i wasting my time, thinking all day about him, nothing can be done. He prooved that much himself today after.... Zo...you okay, you haven't said anything...
*jess turns her head around, realising that it wasn't zoe that came back(

The atmosphere had just become very tense. There was a sense of hope around the flat at that very moment. At that very moment everything became clear, everything became equal. At that very moment Zoe was minutes away from entering the flat. At that very moment, Will had just left the pub. At that very moment...all became clear.
Jess got up from the sofa, shaking because of what she had just confseesed to the person who had listened to her. Shocked that she had these feelings, shocked that someone had actually heard her say these things. She took a couple of steps from the sofa. She stood there. Almost frozen. For once in her life she was speechless. She didn't know what to say. What to do. She forgot all sense of normality. She was once in her life, stuck. And utterly unprepared for what was going to take place. Her mind was blank, but full of little voices, telling her to do or say something. It felt like Years had passed, but in matter of fact, it was seconds.
She took a couple more steps. Still tense, Still shocked.
Jess:.....y---ooo-uu.... *she finally managed to say*
