EEE. I'm so stupid sometimes I make myself laugh. I've hadthis bit types up for a few days, but I thought I'd already posted it, so I've done nothing with it. Here it is anyway, better late than never... hopefully,

PART 21

“Jessica darling!”
A deep voice boomed through the house, making Jess shiver with what she presumed to be either anger or nerves, but of course she couldn’t be sure. All she knew was she could hear his profound breathing from the bottom of the stairs and it was making her skin crawl. This was the moment she had been dreading.

Lance was home.

“Jessica my sweet pea, are you home?” Lance’s voice came again, forcing Jess to move from her position of laying on the bathroom floor, which she had assumed on first hearing Lance’s voice coming though the front door. Taking a deep breath, Jess closed her eyes for a second to compose herself, and then made her way down the stairs, a smile painted on her face.
“Lance,” she said, stepping to the side and out of his reach as he moved forward to embrace her.
“Oh I’ve missed you Jessica by darling,” he said, trying once again to kiss her, only for Jess to back away again. Lance, in his usual state of unawareness, would not have ordinarily noticed Jess’ obvious attempts to avoid him, but it had been a long journey, and Lance Marie could see quite clearly that his Jessica was not being her normal loving self.
“Jessica, what ever is the matter with you?” he demanded in a less than caring tone, “I’ve been travelling all day and you should be more than happy to see me after my little trip, now come on,” he motioned towards his opened arms, “Come and say a real hello to your husband,”
What Jess really wanted to do was call him an ugly buffoon and kick him somewhere that would hurt. For her own safety however, she advanced forward, wincing as his big fat arms wrapped around her waist, clutching hold of her bum.
“Err, Lance,” Jess mumbled, struggling for air as her face was pushed further and further into the never ending pit that he called a stomach, “Lance? Lance do you want me to make you something to eat, you must be hungry from your journey?”

Lance’s ears suddenly pricked up.

“To eat?” he repeated, letting go of her instantly, “AHH Jessica my rose, that would be exquisite. You are every bit the dutiful wife I had always dreamed for.”
“And you’re the man I always dreamed for too Lance,” Jess said to him, turning into the kitchen and smiling to herself. She had even amazed herself at how she had been able to say that without laughing. The idea that she could become an actress had become much less farfetched over her years married Lance.

Jessica Harris could have won an Oscar for her performance in ‘The big fat man and his quest for pork pies,’ she was positive of it.

“Is there anything in particular you want?” Jess shouted to Lance, who had now retired to his study. She was hoping he was going to ask for something obscene and lavish, it was more time spent in the kitchen for her, which meant more time out of his way.
“Anything,” his voice bellowed back, causing Jess to break out into a smile. Jess had lived with Lance long enough now to know that when he said ‘anything’, what he really meant was ‘the most filling and disgusting thing you can think up’.

So, taking the frying pan out of the cupboard above her head, Jess put it down on the worktop and went to the fridge, filling her hands with bacon, sausage, egg and anything else she could see that looked remotely edible. Looking out of the window as she placed the food next to the pan, Jess couldn’t help but wonder if Kris had realised that Lance was back, they hadn’t spoke today after all. Since that day in the field when they’d decided to give it ago between them, they’d met up everyday, mainly at Jess’ house, but sometimes in the villages surrounding Beckingsdale Moore. She just couldn’t believe that she was giving up her time with Kris to make dinner for her obese husband.

Still, she thought reassuringly, if it kept him in the dark about what she and Kris had been doing since he left, a fry-up every so often seemed a small price to pay.

Poor Jess She needs to run for the hills and obviously take Kris with her!!
I hate Lance he is just a selfish, fat pig.
I was enjoying Kris and Jess just being on their own too.

Slight problem here and when I say slight I mean large and very large at that. This large problem being the one, the only Lance! He clearly needs to go on a business trip very, very far away and this business trip would be so important he would be away for a year plus. This would enable Jess to carry on with the actual love of her life, being Mr Kris Fisher.
Now that is off my chest all I have to say is get rid of Lance and fast

I have a question Alex! In both my fics do you think Jonathan or Andrew are lovely?

I'm a firm believer of the hatred towards Jonothan
Andrews nice though Of course he's not Kris, so thats a bit of a downpoint for him. But otherwise...

Jonathan is lovely though and Andrew is more than nice as you will find out in a very tragic event coming up!
So yes the moral of the story is Lance needs to go!

What if I want to keep him though
What if I want him to stick around forever..

What if I want Jonathan and Jess to have an affair even though she is now officially enagaged to Kris?

Well... If Jonothan doesn't ever get engaged to Jess. Then, I will maybe consider getting rid of Lance at some point in my story ...

I wrote most of this last night, and I've just finished it off now. I haven't checked through it properly, I wanted to get it posted so sorry for any mistakes. I'm kind of trying to drag this on for a little bit before I write the next big theing thats going to happen, because I don't just want to jump into it. Tell me if It's getting a bit boring... thanks, enjoy...

PART 22

“You’re late,”

Jess simply smiled at Kris as he said this, knowing that he wasn’t actually bothered that she hadn’t arrived on time, he was just acting like he was. She knew him only too well. Kris kept his face painted to a frown for almost five seconds, before he felt his bottom lip quiver and his mouth erupted into a grin. Kissing Jess lightly on the cheek, he took her hand, walking with her through the field that they had agreed to meet up in.

“So what held you up anyway?” he asked, looking across at her, “You get talking with Frank or Pauline?”
“Err no actually,” Jess said, rubbing her forehead slightly, “Lance came back last night; I had to kind of slip out of the door before he noticed and asked me to make him dinner,”

Jess noticed Kris expression change as she said the word ‘Lance’, and, though he was trying to keep the smile on his face, she knew that it had no place there.

“Kris,” she said quietly, squeezing his hand a little as to wake him out of his apparent day dream. “He had to come back sometime,”
“I know he did,” he said lightly, bringing her in for a hug, “I just hate the idea of him being around you, that’s all.”
Jess gave a slight smile; she loved the notion that Kris was being protective over her.
“Believe me,” she said, looking up at him, “I hate the idea of him being around me too, but we’ll both just have to deal with that, at least for now.”
“Yeah,” Kris said, nodding his head and pulling away from the hug, walking along side her again, “Soon it’ll just be us,”

Jess felt her insides warm on hearing this, although she couldn’t help but to feel a bit sceptical. Everything just seemed stacked against them at the moment; it just looked as if it was going to be impossible for them to ever be together properly. Still though, Jess thought, she should be thankful for what they even have now, as she had to admit that these last few days had been the happiest of her life. She just had to put her trust in the fact that everything would come together in the end, and that things would put themselves right. They had to, because she had to be with Kris, there was nothing she wanted more in the world. She wasn’t a one to put her life in the hands of destiny; but she just couldn’t help but think that the only thing that was going to let her and Kris be together was fate.

She just had to hope that fate was on her side.

“Kris, this is the second time you’ve climbed this tree. I’d have thought that you’d have got better this time,”

Jess looked down at Kris, who seemed to have straddled his body across two branches and couldn’t appear to be able to stretch his legs any further apart, and so was well and truly stuck.

“Well you should know by now that I’m not the athletic type,” he told her, reaching out for her hand so she could help him up.
“Yeah and I’m wearing flip-flops,” she laughed, watching as he struggled onto the next branch, “And I’m still managing fine,”
“Yes well,” Kris began, leaning onto the tree trunk behind him, “You were probably the kind of kid that won all the races at school and had everyone clapping at you. Whereas I was the boy who didn’t even realise everybody had started running because I was too busy looking up into the sky and trying to make shapes with them.”
“What can I say, you’re a daydreamer,” Jess laughed, climbing up onto the next branch and dropping herself onto the wooden platform below her.
“It was the only thing that kept me happy,” Kris said, following Jess down onto the platform and smiling. “I have you now though,” he said, and he approached her, kissing her lovingly.

Jess moved backwards as Kris’ lips met hers, resting her back on the trunk of the tree, before sliding herself down it onto the wooden planks, Kris moving down with her, planting kisses on her neck, and then her chest, and then her stomach.

“I love you,” he said breathlessly, looking back up into her eyes and taking her hand in his. “You’re all I’m ever going to need.”

And at that moment, all the doubt that Jess had been feeling towards them was washed away, because she knew that those words were true. It didn’t matter what was going to happen to them, because as long as they had each other, she knew that they’d be okay.
