the moment charliie becamse ill and the truth about his paternity came out, jake went to the most hated bloke in chester category and justin when to the most loved because of him saving charlie's life

whats happening with our joint fic??? everyone was askin when u disappeared but i havent been able to get on my fantasy hollyoaks account cos my comp has been broke so im on my dads laptop and i cant remember what we said for it.

They week went by and Nancy started to relax and have a little fun; they decided to go down to the swimming pool, after some persuasion from Justin that her scars couldnt be noticed anymore. She got into her bikini and he into his boxers before they got into the pool; they messed around, splashing each other for a while before Justin held her by her waist and kissed ehr. As he ran his hands along her body towards her legs, she hestitated but then wrapped them around his waist as he kissed her lovingly.

"I love it when you smile" Justin said after they had dried off and got changed before going back upto their room and lying on the bed in each others arms.

"Well i havet excatly had a lot to smile about have i?"

"No but that's changing now; it's all the past."

"When did you become so grown up?"

"When Becs died and i found out i was a dad, then i found you and we had Abigail."

"I cant believe how much you've changed over the years and that we're still close after 4, 4 years of been together; must be summat to do with the love-hate relationship we have"

"Must do; how about a meal in the restaurant to celebrate our last night here?"

"Sounds perfect; i'm gonna grab a shower and get ready"

"Okay"

He kissed her before she disappeared into the bathroom with her outfit and had a shower before getting changed; when she came out, Justin was ready in a smart shirt and trousers while he was gobsmacked by her short dazzling think strapped black dress with knee length boots. He took her hand before they headed downstairs and enjoyed their meal and plenty of alcohol.

They stumbled back in their room at 11pm that night, extremly drunk; they collapsed on the bed and kissed. Justin knew what was likely to happen but he didnt want to push it or make the first move, it had to be upto Nancy.

"Nance, we're both drunk; are you sure you wanna do this?"

"Not really; i just wanna be as close to you as possible."

"Come here..."

He took her boots and his shoes, trousers and shirt off before pulling the duvet over them as Nancy slipped out of her dress and pulled on her pink strapped skimpy nightie and lying back snuggled against him as he wrapped his arm around her and kissed her hair.

"You will always be close to me; we dont need to go that far for you to feel that close, okay??"

There was no answer; when he looked, she had already dozed off against him. He turned the lamp off befre kissing her again and slowly falling asleep as he watched her sleep peacefully.

The next day, they made their way back to Chester and to the flat where Margaret was sat on the sofa with Abigail in her arms while Charlie played happily in his playpen.

"Daddy, mommy" he squealed happily as they walked in and put their bags down; Justin bent down and picked him as Nancy took Abigail off her mom and looked down at her.

"Were they okay mom?"

"They were brilliant; how are you love?"

"A little hungover but i'm fine; i'm over him and what he did"

"Good; i was gonna make a drink, would you two like a coffee?"

"Thanks" they both replied as they sat down while Margaret went into the kitchen and did the drinks before putting them on the table as she sat next to Nancy, watching her daughter play with hers, happily and smiling for the first time since she arrived back in Chester.

Over the next few weeks, Nancy had accepted and got over what had happened to her and had bonded brilliantly with Abigail like a mom should do; she sat happily on the floor, bouncing her up and down as she squealed. Justin walked in with Charlie and sat next to her; he kissed cheek as he put Charlie on the floor in front of them.

"Where did you two go?"

"Charlie's checkup at the hospital"

"Why didnt you remind me?"

"You needed to bond with your daughter and you've had enough to worry about."

"Is he okay then?"

"Yeah; he sat there babbling to the doctor the whole time."

"Really? He's gonna be just like his mom, a talker"

"Yeah; where did you and Abigail go?"

"We had her routine checkup at the doctors; she's fine"

"Good; I've gotta work tonight. Are you gonna be okay with the kids on your own?"

"I'll be fine, i promise; what time you gotta be in for?"

"Seven"

"How about we take the kids to the park for a couple of hours?"

"Okay"

They got the kids and themselves ready before making their way to the park when Charlie swung happily as Justin pushed him on the swings and Abigail sat in the baby strap sleeping on her moms chest.

After a few months, Nancy had felt ready enough to make love with Justin and she loved every second of it; the experience felt different to before unless it was due to the fact they hadnt done it in months. A few months later, she was feeling unwell again, they both knew instantly what it was; she was pregnant again but this time she felt more confident and sure about keeping it. That night, Justin took Nancy to Il Gnosh for a meal to celebrate while Margaret babysat the kids; once they had finished the meal, he took her hand and knelt at the side of her.

"Nancy, been with you has completely changed who i am; it's made me a better person and get rid of the bad boy image i had. i love our family...and i love you" he took a box out his pocket and opened it to her "Will you marry me?"

"W...What?!" she stuttered.

"Will you do the honour of becoming my wife?"

She sat there, shocked, as did the rest of the restaurant; Jusitn became to get nervous and agitated.

"Jay...i would love to marry you"

Everyone clapped and cheered as he slid the ring on her finger before she lifted him up and they hugged and kissed fervently in the middle of Il Gnosh; he went to pay the bill but Tony insisted that it was on the house. Justin took Nancy's hand as they left and decided to go for a walk; he stopped her over in Jubilee Gardens and put his arms around her waist as he leant in and kissed her passionately.

"I didnt think you were gonna say yes"

"Why?"

"You were just sat there, not saying anything"

"I was shocked, i wasnt expecting it; but it was a lovely surprise. I love you"

"You too; do you like the ring? i wasnt sure which one you'd like or if it would fit"

"It's perfect, just like you..."

"You can pick your dress and the venue; no matter how expensive, this is your day"

"Thank you; this baby is gonna be so lucky having a dad like you"

"Have you told your mom about the baby?"

"No, i just said we were going out and asked if she'd have the kids"

"Are we gonna tell her when we get in, especially if she see's the ring?"

"I guess; i just hope she doesnt go mad"

"What's to go mad for? She's got used to me now; she doesnt hate me anymore and she's accpeted our relationship."

Nancy held Justin's hand tightly as they entered the flat, ready to tell Margaret but she was fast asleep in the spare room with Charlie in the cot and Abigail in Justin and Nancy's room; the checked on the kids before getting changed and lying in the bed with the duvet over them as he put his hand on top of hers on her stomach.

"I guess we'll have to tell her in the morning" Nancy said.

"Yeah but it gives you more time to get your head around it all."

"Yeah; was...was you planning on asking me to marry you before we found out i was pregnant?"

"Yeah i was; i wasnt planning on doing it tonight. i was gonna wait until Becs anniversary and propose then but then we found out about the baby and we were already celebrating so i thought i'd do it now."

"I'm glad you did; did you mean everyword you said at Jubilee Gardens?"

"Yeah i did; i love you Nance"

"You too..."

He left his hand on her stomach as they slowly dozed off until Abigail woke up half way through the night.

The next morning, Justin and Nancy awoke and checked on the kids before going through to the kitchen and doing a drink each before sitting, snuggled against each other on the sofa with Justin's arm around her; he kissed ehr hair as Margaret came out of her room adn got a drink before sitting next to Nancy.

"How did you sleep mom?"

"Okay"

"Erm...mom, there's soemthing i need to tell you?"

"What is it love?"

"Erm...i'm pregnant again; when we went out yesterday morning, we were actually at the doctors getting it confirmed"

"Well, congratulations love"

"There is something else; when we went out last night, Jay asked me to marry him and i said yes"

She put the cup down before showing her the ring.

"I just want you to be happy for me mom; i love him and i want this more than anything."

"I cant forget what he happened to Becca because of him but he has proved that he's changed and is serious about been a dad to Charlie and protecting him and you and looking after Abigail; i just want you to be happy"

"I am mom; i am happy"

"Okay"

Nancy hugged her mom before snuggling back upto Justin as he wrapped his arm around her and placed her hand on her stomach as he kissed her hair and neck.

"I'm gonna go and grab a shower if no one minds?"

"Go ahead mom, we've gotta get the kids up and fed"

"Thanks love"

As Margaret went in the bathroom, Nancy looked up happily at Justin and kissed him before they went and got the kids and fed them before Justin took Charlie in the bedroom as Nancy laid Abigail on the changing mat on the sofa.

When Margaret came out the bathroom, Nancy was just puttng Abigail's baby pink tracksuit on before she held her in her arms as she tidied up the mess; she sat back down and looked at her daughter's blue eyes staring back up at her as Margaret sat down and looked at her too.

"She has Becca's eyes" Nancy said.

"Yeah she does and your smile; do you need anything from the shop?"

"Some nappies, formula and baby food for Charlie"

"What about you? Do you want anything? Chocolate, or a drink or something?"

"Some chocolate and Sour creme and chive pringles"

"I thought you didnt like them?"

"I do now; cravings"

"Okay; i'll get some for you and some shopping too"

She kissed her daughter before leaving the flat with her jacket and bag as Justin came back in with Charlie and sat next to her.

That afternoon, Nancy and Margaret went for a walk with Abigail in the baby strap across Nancy's chest but under her jacket but done up so she could keep herself and her daughter warm.

"You really do love him dont you?"

"Yeah; i had a huge crush on him when i first moved down here but he was with my best friend at the time so, apart from New Year's eve when we kissed at midnight, nothing happened. When i'm with him, i feel safe and i know you might think that sounds stupid after Becs but it's not to me; he really looked after me when i was..."

"I know; he's changed so much from the lad i met for the first time."

"Becca never forgave me for months after i called you; i didnt wanna tell you over the phone but at the same time, i didnt wanna hurt Becs."

"Okay, let me ask you this; you hated the thought of him been with Becca and marrying her and bringing up the baby, yeah?"

"Yeah"

"Why did you think that?"

"Cos she was too good for him; he didnt deserve her. i didnt like the way he treated her and kept getting into trouble and making Becs worry all night. i was scared for her and the baby."

"Okay; if he wasnt good enough for her, then why is he good enough for you?"

"I..." Nancy was stumped, she didnt know how to answer the question; they went and sat in Il Gnosh and had a drink as they carried on talking.

"So?"

"He's changed mom..."

"He said he had changed when he got with Becca love"

"He's caring and loving"

"Again, the same with Becca...what makes you sure he's good enough for you?"

"Honestly?"

"Yeah?"

"He's a great dad; when he was with Becca, he didnt get all the hands on experience or anything. It was just nine long months of hormones and for a while, he was the perfect partner for her; taking care of her and making sure he was there if she needed him, got a job, even gave her water every night but then he'd do something stupid and mess it up."

"In the four years you've been together, has he ever done anything stupid or hurt you?"

"No, not once; he got me and Charlie away from...away from Jake; he saved Charlie's life; been there when..."

"So thinking about it now, do you think he was just a scared kid who was about to become a first time dad?"

"Maybe; he and Becs used to talk all the time about the baby buthe never once told anyone how he was really feeling about becoming a dad, just that he was happy and excited."

"Maybe that's why he did stupid things? His mind was filled with baby stuff and trying to the right thing about Becca and he wasnt thinking before doing something, like the trial. Maybe it was just his way of coping with losing her and the baby and knowing he had messed up big time with her; maybe he didnt really mean to get her sent down and..."

"I guess; i've never really thought about it like that."

"Maybe you should talk to him; i know it's all in the past but you're gonna need to start thinking about what you're gonna tell Charlie as he grows up."

"Thanks mom"

"That's okay; how about we go shopping, my treat?"

"You dont have to"

"I want to; i have 3 years to make up to"

"I'd like that"

They finished their drinks before heading to the bus and getting on the bus to Chester.

When they got back, loaded up with shopping bags, Justin had done a candlelit meal for the two of them; Margaret made herself something to eat and a drink while Nancy fed Abigail before putting her in her cot as Justin served up while Margaret went into her room. He put the meal in front of them as they both sat down; she started to eat as she looked up at Justin as her looked at her and smiled back.

"What's this for?"

"I wanted to spoil you; you've made me the happiest guy in the world"

"Thanks; Jay...what are we gonna tell Charlie when he grows up?"

"About Becca?"

"Everything. Me and mom were talking this afternoon and alot of his dad was involved in his mom's death?"

"I dont know..."

"You know when you told me that you wished you didnt do all that stupid stuff that made you lose Becs?"

"Yeah?"

"Well, what if you did it because you wasnt thinking straight? What if you did all the bad things because you were so excited about been a dad and not hurting Becs' feelings, that you didnt tell her how you were feeling about been a dad?"

"How do you mean?"

"What if you were excited about been a dad...but you were scared as well?"

"I was scared, i just didnt wanna tell Becs that; she had enough problems without knowing that i didnt think i could be a decent dad to our kid."

"You are a decent dad to Charlie and she would be proud of you; especially the way you've turned your whole life around. Charlie has the best dad he could possibly have and so does Abigail and this little one too"

She took his hand and placed it on her stomach before he lifted her off the chair and onto his lap; wrapping his arm around her waist to support her as he kissed her gently.

"I'm sorry if i ruined dinner by bringing up the past?"

"You didnt; it's something we had to talk about eventually."

"So what's for dessert then?"

"Chocolate cake with custard"

"Yummy"

"I do love you Nance; and i wont hurt you like i did Becs, i promise"

"You'd better not, you only get one chance with me; i love you too"

She kissed hijm passionately before he cleared the table and served up dessert.
