Okay, so here is the next instalment. Hope you like.
Part 2
"Looks like you've pulled mate," Ryan gesticulated towards the brunette in the corner giggling with some friends.
Craig had to admit that she was gorgeous in the green dress. And she had been giving him the eye all night, but instead of making his way over to her, he nursed his pint.
"What's with you mate? I don't see either of you wearing rings. Fresher's week is all about sowing those wild oats and having some fun."
Craig gritted his teeth. He hated Ryan using the term "mate" when they were far from it. He had only met the raven haired man two days earlier in their first lecture when Craig had not known a single person in the room. They had bonded over which area of England they were from; it turned out Ryan was from Chester.
They had sat together every day since and when Ryan had suggested they check out the student union that night, Craig had jumped at the chance. He knew fine well that he had difficulty making friends. Plus getting out of the hovel of a flat meant that he wasn't constantly moping around over John Paul.
It had been a week. He still hadn't heard from him.
"So what's the big deal Craig? She's fit and she's been eyeing you up all night. You've just not done anything about it," Ryan's voice interrupted Craig's thoughts. "You're not gay, are you?"
Craig nervously laughed, "of course not." His heart pounded like a marching drum at the question. He definitely wasn't gay. He just couldn't help who he had fallen in love with. But there was no point in telling Ryan. He wouldn't understand. Nobody would.
"I'm glad," Ryan said.
"I just thought she might have been eyeing someone else up instead," Craig lied, knowing fine well the reason why he hadn't used a chat up line on the brunette.
"Come on mate, the signs are staring you right in the face. What would you rather have her do? Flash you so you know she's interested?"
Craig swirled the last remnants of his beer around in his glass and gulped down the lot. Slightly hunched he walked over to Brunette. He wasn't quite sure why he had a defeatist attitude about him, when he knew perfectly well by the looks she had been giving him that she was interested. Maybe it's because the last person he loved left him.
Just before he reached Brunette he let out a big sigh and changed his whole demeanour. He plastered on his cheeky grin.
"I've been debating with myself all night about knowing you from somewhere. You're not doing Business Studies are you?" Craig asked.
"No, English," she replied in an Irish accent. "The name's Fee." She held out a delicately manicured hand.
"Craig," he took hold of her hand and shook it.
"Nice to meet you. Now tell me one thing Craig: how long did it take you to come up with that chat-up line?' she grinned.

Fee's lips were soft and gentle. Her touch was smooth and she emitted an air of femininity. It was a world away from the lips he craved but he pushed that thought to the back of his mind.
He wasn't here. She was.
He kissed her harder, hoping that he might begin to enjoy it more. It was nice but nothing spectacular.
As she pulled away his eyes were drawn to a stranger in the corner of the union. The blond hair and blue eyes looked familiar. It was him. He was here. Craig wanted so much to run to him. To explain that he loved him and didn't want anybody else but him.
His heart dropped into the pit of the stomach though, when on second glance he realised that it wasn't John Paul, just a poor man's look-alike. Fee mumbled something about going to the bar and left Craig staring at this man. Maybe it was just his imagination but the John Paul clone was staring back at him with as much intensity. What was going on there?
She was only gone all of ten minutes and planted a pint in his hand on her arrival. "Something snaking you?"
"No. No," he bluffed.
She smiled at his answer, leaning in again and brushed her lips against his. He forced himself to close his eyes and forget about blondie in the corner.
She pressed her body up against his. Her lips moved from his to his neck until she started nibbling at his ear.
His eyes popped open. Blondie was gone. He mumbled something about getting some fresh air to Fee and headed in the direction he assumed Blondie had gone in.
A million thoughts ran through his head at once. What on earth was he doing running after this stranger? He wasn't John Paul even if he did look scarily like him. He pushed past groups of people crowding round the entrance, hoping to see a sight of that blond hair. There he was, going down an alleyway.
Craig followed, not even comprehending what he was doing. Not until he was face to face with the stranger. No words were exchanged between the two men. Instead their lips joined in a passionate embrace.
*******************
Walking back to his hovel, Craig couldn't fathom out what exactly had gone on. He felt a mixture of disappointment and disgust tinged with a feeling of betrayal. He was disappointed because despite how he thought it would be, it paled in comparison to being with John Paul. Disgust - he had just slept with a man and part of him liked it. Being with a man was different but he was adamant he wasn't gay. And most of all, despite it being over, he felt as though he had betrayed John Paul. Being with Sarah never felt like betrayal because it was so different. But this, this definitely was.
Fuelled by alcohol, he took out his mobile and scrolled through the list of contacts until he got to the one person he wanted and needed to talk to. He had to tell him everything he couldn't say at the airport. About how he had turned Sarah down twice. About how much he truthfully loved him.
The phone rang once, twice.
"Hello?" a man's voice answered.
The voice sounded so unfamiliar, so strange.
"John Paul?"
"No, he's indisposed at the moment. What can I do you for?"
Craig felt his heart pounding in his head. He was sick to his stomach.
"Hello? Are you still there?" The words came from the mobile but none of them entered Craig's head. Who on earth was this strange man answering John Paul's phone at midnight? He couldn't have found himself a new boyfriend, could he?
