ok, so I decided to start writing a fanfiction. I'm going to try really hard to get as many of the actualy Hollyoaks characters in it as I can and stick to what's going on in the show at the moment as I can. It is going to take a long time, as I'm trying to write lyrics for my band and then I will have school, and I have really important exams in May/June so bear with me =)
Anyways, the title of my attempt at a fanfic is (in full) Once, I Had a Dream, And This Is It. It's open to interpetation so here is the first installment:
‘Hey, um…excuse me!’ a young woman shouted to Steph in an overcrowded Mobs.
‘Sorry, come back later, we’re full,’ Steph told her.
‘No, I’m looking for the manager of this place?’
‘Oh, god knows where he is,’ Steph replied. ‘Come back later. Oh, Tom! Go and sit down.’
‘Thanks a lot,’ the woman muttered under her breath as she turned away.
‘What do you need to see Max for anyway?’ Steph shouted.
‘Oh, nothing,’ the woman said. ‘I was just looking for a job but I can look elsewhere.’
‘I’m sure Max wouldn’t mind you helping out unofficially just now,’ Steph said. ‘Come back here quick and I’ll sort you out.’
‘You mean it? Oh, thank you so much, you’re a real life saver.’
‘No worries,’ Steph said. ‘So, first of all, my name’s Steph.’
‘Uh…Eilidh,’ Eilidh said.
‘Not seen you around before’ Steph said, handing her an apron. ‘Put that on then give those drinks out there, will you? Table 5.’
‘Thanks,’ Eilidh said. ‘I just moved here. My mum got transferred to some hospital so she uprooted us all. I’m joining the college.’
‘Ok, we can talk later,’ Steph said, ‘because right now there are customers waiting.’
So Eilidh got to work, giving out all the fruit smoothies and not talking to anyone much or learning anything about Hollyoaks or the restaurant she’d just joined. A man appeared at the counter after a few hours, staring her up and down.
‘Sorry, sir, we’re really busy just now,’ Eilidh said. ‘Can you come back later, please? I’m so sorry.’
‘Who are you?’ he asked.
‘I’m Eilidh, I just started here, now please sir don’t make this difficult for me.’
‘Who gave you the job?’
‘Uh…the woman there,’ Eilidh pointed at Steph.
‘Steph?’ the man called the girl over. ‘Who the hell is this and why is she saying she works here?’
‘I’m sorry Max,’ Steph said. ‘We were so busy and Sasha failed to turn up again. I really needed an extra pair of hands. She’s good though.’
‘Ok, I’m sorry,’ Max kissed her forehead.
‘Where were you anyway? Surely the dentist didn’t keep you waiting for five hours?’
‘Nah,’ Max said. ‘I thought I’d go into town and get a treat for you, me and Tom tonight.’
‘Oh, how sweet!’ Steph said. ‘Oh, gosh! Introductions. Well, this is Max, he owns Mobs. And Max, this is Eilidh. She was looking for a job and I said she could help out this afternoon.’
‘Pleased to meet you Max,’ Eilidh said. ‘And sorry about before, it was rude of me.’
‘No worries,’ Max said. ‘You didn’t know. Thanks for helping out. Where you from then?’
‘I’m from Scotland,’ Eilidh said. ‘Up in the Highlands. My dad got transferred to a hospital and decided we were all to come down. So here I am.’
‘God, that’s quite a distance to move,’ Steph said. ‘How are you coping?’
‘Well, I really miss home,’ she said. ‘We had this cute little cottage next to a farm. Mostly we hung out in Portree, but sometimes we managed to get down to Inverness and that was really something. But, I’m sure I’ll be alright once I get into the college here and make a few friends.’
‘Yeah,’ Max smiled. ‘Where are you and your family staying at the moment?’
‘In a hotel,’ Eilidh told him. ‘We’re house hunting.’
‘How would you like to come over to ours for dinner tonight? Like a proper welcome?’
‘You mean it?’ Eilidh asked him. ‘Oh, that would be great! Thank you.’

It's taking time to write, tbh. And I don't want to throw it all up really quickly. I did that one an old music forum (RIP FMB) with one of my own stories. I have a lot of it and somehow it took me 2 weeks to post up all of what I had so now I'm just like yeah *pace yourself* I'll post up new bits when they're ready. And as it so happens, the next bit is ready now =)
Enjoy:
It was about six o’clock when she got to leave and go back to her hotel to tell her family the news. She hid herself in the bathroom to get ready before her brother could beat her to it. She dressed in a short-ish black skirt, a white shirt with ruffles around the sleeves and collar and put her black waistcoat over it. She found her fishnets and black boots to complete her outfit. Her hair was easy enough. She just straightened it. Her hair was long and blonde. She had pale blue highlights through it and her eyes were also blue.
‘Oh got Eilidh, you’re not going out like that are you?’ Her brother had never agreed with her choice of music or fashion. ‘Come on, we’re all bored of this gothic crap.’
‘Get lost, Jack,’ Eilidh warned him. ‘No one falls for an arse anyway. At least I manage to have a personality.’
‘Come on, sis,’ Jack laughed. ‘You know I love you really.’
‘Funny way of showing it,’ Eilidh said. Jack was his usual self, dressing down to dress up. Jeans and a sleek red shirt. She had to admit, he looked good, but he just annoyed her. He always played people, never really trying to be nice. She had been sure for ages that he was ‘in the closet’ and sure enough when he was 16 he came out. And however accepting of him she might be, he couldn’t accept her.

Steph and Max had prepared a simple meal of spaghetti bolognaise for Eilidh and her family. They chatted pleasantly over a lovely meal.
'So,' Steph broke a comfortable silence between the main meal and pudding. 'I'm sorry Mrs. McLean I'm not that good at these things, but where's your husband, if it's not too much to ask?'
Eilidh's mum looked at Steph. 'Hopefully he's dead,' she whispered.
'Dead?' Max asked, overhearing them somehow with his head in the fridge looking for the fruit salad.
'He was horrible,' Eilidh said quietly.
'He was a drunken homophobe,' Jack said angrily. Steph and Max looked at him, and Elidh looked towards her mum. Jack continued, 'He always drank too much and took it all out on us. When he was especially angry he'd beat Mum up as well as just shout at her. I was 14 or 15 at the time, coming home from school. Thought Dad was out. He was, but he came home sooner than I had expected so he caught me with my first boyfriend. He'd been round before, when Dad was away on business but i'd not told anyone that I was gay. So Dad found out and killed him. Tried to kill me and all, but Eilidh got back without him noticing. She was always the brainy one out of the two of us, and she phoned the police and an ambulance.'
Mrs McLean, first name Diane, let out a huge sob.
'I was about to leave the hospital myself that day with my arm in plaster when I heard my son was brought in!' she screached. 'We had to press charges. He tried to kill my son!'
'So we hope he's still in prison. They gave him life but you know what they're like. 10 years of good behaviour and he'll get out and come after us, so we had to move before that,' Eilidh said. 'I'm sorry, I'd better get her home. Jack,' Eilidh motioned for his help.
'You're gay?' Steph asked. 'Why is that a problem?'
'Some people in this world just don't accept difference,' Eilidh said. 'I'm sorry, the meal was lovely. Thank you. I'll see you around?'
She ushured her hysterical mother out the door with her brother. Once in the cool, night air she began to relax.
'Eilidh, love,' she said between gentle sobs. 'We'll need some food for tomorrow morning. Be a dear and buy us some tea, milk, cereal and bread from that shop there,' she handed her daughter a £20 note.
'I won't be long, Mum,' Eilidh promised. 'Jack, make sure she gets lots of water when she gets in. I'll get some coffee for her too.'
She watched her brother and her mother walking off into the distance, Diane now hiccoughing occassionally. She looked up at the shop her mum had wanted supplies out of. Drive 'N' Buy.
'Got a ring to it, that,' she whispered. She walked into it, smiling at the guy behind the counter. What an ass, she thought. Obviously in love with himself! She picked up some coffee, tea bags, milk, sugar, bread and cereal and headed for the counter where another person was now standing.
'Listen Rhys, no one likes a liar,' he was saying in a strong Irish accent. Wait...he? He was wearing a skirt!
'What did I lie about now?' the guy behind the counter asked, clearly outraged.
'You sent this to Zoe,' the Irish guy in the skirt showed him a picture on his mobile phone.
'Oh my god! No way! What is that?'
'Excuse me,' Eilidh said. 'Am I gonna get served or not?'
'Sorry, darlin', was I in your way?' the Irish man in a skirt asked her, moving out of her way.
'Nah, not really,' she replied. Now that she got a better look at him, he was pretty cute. 'Thanks,' she smiled, placing her armful on the counter top.
'That's a lot of stuff you got there,' the guy said. 'Going somewhere?'
'Ha, more like moving in,' Eilidh replied.
'Ah, that explains why I've not seen you before,' he said. 'I'm Rhys, by the way,' he held out his hand for her to shake.
'Eilidh,' she told him, shaking his hand.
'Oh please, why would a girl like that be interested in a guy like you?' the Irish man in the skirt said sarcastically.
'Uh, because I'm gorgeous,' Rhys said matter-of-factly.
Elidh worked hard to supress a laugh.
'Why are you even interested in her?' Rhys asked the Irish man in the skirt. 'She's obviously not your type either.'
He ignored Rhys and turned to Eilidh saying, 'I'm Kris. Welcome to Hollyoaks.'
'Thanks,' she smiled shyly.
'Um, that'll be £17.89 please,' Rhys said.
'Oh, so you've got that far now?' Eilidh joked, handing him the money.
'Change,' Rhys offered her the change, his tone now very cold.
Eilidh smiled and picked up the bags to leave. Kris followed her out of the shop.
'Those bags look heavy,' he said, passing by. 'Want a hand?'
'Go for it,' she offered him a bag.
'Where do you stay anyway?' he asked.
'A hotel just down here,' she explained. 'Hopefully not for long though. Can't wait till I get out of the madhouse and get myself a place in Halls.'
'You're going to HCC?' Kris asked.
'Aye, it would appear so.'
'I'll see you around then.'
'Just here,' Eilidh said, stopping at a door.
'Jeez, that was fast!' Kris exclaimed.
'Time flies,' Eilidh replied. 'Listen, thanks for helping out with this. And back in that shop. That guy Rhys obviously loves himself. I hate people like that.'
'No worries,' Kris laughed. 'Nice to meet you anyway,' he offered her his hand. 'Nah, joking,' he said, seeing the look on her face. 'Come here and gi'us a hug.'
So Eilidh fell into the friendliest welcome she'd had since arriving in this village. She opened the door to her hotel room to put her bags down and then turned back to Kris. 'Can you find your way back alright?'
'Yeah, should do,' he said. 'Look kid, do you want something? Only you're looking at me awful hard.'
'To be honest, I've no idea,' Eilidh smiled. 'I've known you 5 minutes so it's not really right.'
'Well, as long as you won't regret it,' he said and turned away.
After a moment's pause she stepped forward and said his name.
'Yes?' he asked her.
'What the hell,' she whispered. 'We both want to, right?' She stepped up to him, sliding her arms around his neck and leaning in close. He tilted his head towards her, and pressed his lips onto hers. He held her there for a full minute and then released her.
'I'll see you around, Eilidh.'
'See you around, Kris,' Eilidh whispered. Her cheeks burned red as she slid the door closed, watching him walk away.

I'll need to get onto a mod or admin about fixing that post... Does anyone know anything about where I can find a list of the trigger words as well? I've had some trouble getting this bit posted up due to trigger words =S
Eilidh slid into the kitchen to make Diane a mug of strong coffee.
'Took your time,' Jack commented absently when she appeared with the coffee. She ignored him as she gave her mum the mug. 'Eilidh,' Jack said again. She just walked up him into her room. She took out some paper and a pen. She had kept a diary since her brother had nearly been killed. She began to write it again now.
At Max and Steph's Mum got hysterical again, so we had to leave early. I ended up going into the local shop to get some stuff & 2 guys were fighting over something over the counter. Then they fought over me. It was kinda cute. One was totally in love with himself. Well, he was too but in a not-so arrogant way. And he had a skirt on! He walked me home. God...he was cute. And in a moment of madness, I kissed him
'You kissed a guy you just met?' Jack asked, snatching the diary from her.
'Hey!' Eilidh shouted at him. 'Jack, give it here.' She grabbed it away from him, holding it to her chest.
'What did he look like?' Jack asked. 'You never said.'
'You may meet him later,' Eilidh told him. 'Leave me alone.' She pushed him away.
He laughed and walked across the room to his bed. It was only a small hotel room, and Eilidh and Jack had to share. Jack crawled into the bed and curled up, almost immediately asleep.
He dreamed of emptiness. Then he was falling through nothing...right into his old kitchen. He saw himself standing, a 14 year old boy nervous but happy. He was making toast. He stood over the worktop, spreading butter thickly onto the slices when a pair of hands worked their way around his body. He smiled and turned around to face his first boyfriend. He wrapped his arms around him and leant in to kiss im when the door burst open.
'You little rat,' the drunken man growled. 'Turning my wee boy into a poof. I'll have you for this...'
Jack screamed, throwing himself into the land of the awake. He sat up in the bed, shivering violently.
'Jack,' Eilidh ran through, concerned. 'You ok? It's not those dreams again, is it?'
'Yeah, it is,' he said. 'What am I meant to do, Eilidh?'
'I don't know,' she said, sitting beside him. 'I'm sure you'll be fine though.' She hugged him quickly and then ran out of the room. 'Bye Mum!' She shouted quickly.
'Bye, love,' Dian shouted back. 'Jack,' she called on her son, 'What are you going to do today?'
'Explore?' he asked. 'Ok, I get it, you want me out the house. I'm going.' He dragged on a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, his shoes and his jacket and left.
He wandered around for a bit and saw a pub.
'Ah, booze,’ he smiled to himself. He walked into the pub and up to the bar. It was fairly busy, but then again, it was round about lunch time so people were probably out for lunch. He sat up at the bar and a guy with blonde hair and lots of eye make up walked over.
'So what can I get you?' he asked in a strong Irish accent.
'A beer's good,' Jack said.
'Coming right up,' the guy said. 'So, I've not seen you around before?' He said conversationally
'Nah, moved down with my family,' Jack told him. 'I'm Jack, by the way.' Jack offered his hand to the guy after receiving his glass of beer.
'I'm Kris,' Kris said shaking his hand.
'Uh, please, don't make me sick,' a pretty woman said nearby.
'And your supposed to be working, Mercedes McQueen,' Kris said, 'Not sitting about chatting to your mother.'
'Oi, shut it,' Mercedes looked down her nose at Kris. 'Don't know why you're looking at him so hard anyway. I bet he's not even gay.'
'I'm sorry, Jack,' Kris said. 'Do you mind if I'm blunt and ask you your preference?'
'Probably find out soon enough anyway,' he said. He leant forward to Kris and whispered, 'Kiss me.' Kris smiled and kissed Jack.
'You're disgusting,' Mercedes said and turned back to talk to her mum.
Just then, Jack's mobile phone alerted him to a message. His mum had found a lovely little restaurant in Hollyoaks called Il Nosh and she wanted to meet her two children there for lunch.
'Uh, Kris,' Jack said. 'Got time for a break to show me where Il Nosh is?'
'Sure thing,' he said. 'Mercedes, gonna tell Warren I'm on my break now? Cheers.'
'Tell him yourself,' Mercedes told him.
'What's going on?' yet another voice said.
'Ah, Warren,' Kris said. 'Nice to see you. I'm going to take 5 minutes to show this new arrival where Il Nosh is. Is that ok?'
'I suppose so,' Warren said, looking very menacing as he tried to smile in a friendly way.
'Come on,' Kris led Jack out of the pub and through the village to the little restaurant.
'Whoa, you wear dresses?' Jack asked Kris in amazement now that they were outside the dim lighting of the local village pub.
'Have you got a problem with that?'
'No, not at all,' Jack said, boldly taking Kris' hand as they walked.
'Right, I'm stopping here,' Kris said. 'The restaurant's just there. You can get a few hundred metres alone, can't you?'
'Yeah,' Jack smiled. 'Thanks.' He tilted his head slightly, asking for another kiss. Thankfully Kris took the hint and stepped into him and pressed his lips gently onto Jack's.
'I've got to get back,' Kris said, pulling away after a few moments. 'But maybe we could meet up for a drink sometime?'
'Sure,' Jack said. 'Thanks.'
'Don't mention it,' Kris smiled and began to walk back to the pub.
Jack watched him walk for a moment and smiled pleasantly, wandering in the direction of the pub. He recognised it from the night before. His mum and twin sister were already inside, waiting on him. He walked inside nervously and sat with them.
'So how come you're so happy?' Eilidh asked. 'You were in a bit of a mood this morning.'
'I kinda met someone,' Jack smiled.
'Already?' Diane asked. 'Well done, love.'
'Aye, Eilidh has too,' Jack said.
'Shut up, Jack,' she hissed.
'Tell us about your charming young man then?'
'Uh, he was in the shop last night and we said hey, that's all,' she said.
'And the rest,' Jack pressed.
'Jack!'
'Eilidh!'
'Hush you two,' Diane said. 'You'll make a scene.'
'Does this young man have a name, Eilidh?'
'He's called Kris,' she said.
Jack looked at her. No way...surely it can't be...well, he was wearing a skirt.
'Something wrong, Jack?' Eilidh asked him.
'What, no,' Jack smiled.

meh ok. Bit of a mess there. Perhaps now it's all back on track...

They returned to the hotel with full stomachs and feeling rather sleepy. Eilidh laughed at them.
‘Here we are,’ she cried. ‘Three in the afternoon and about ready for a good sleep! Haha, well not me. I’m going to go down to the college and see if I can get into Halls and see if my transfer went through alright.’
She wandered down to the college, HCC. She saw some people, students, standing in front of a poster.
‘God, not again,’ one of the girls said. ‘And Elliot’s not even here this time. Can you remember when he gets back?’
‘No, Sarah,’ her friend said. ‘He didn’t tell us.’
‘Typical,’ the girl called Sarah said.
Eilidh walked over nervously and called to them.
‘Hey, um, sorry,’ she smiled. ‘I’m new here, just arrived the other day.’
‘Hey,’ Sarah looked at her and smiled uneasily.
‘I hope I’m not intruding,’ Eilidh continued. ‘I don’t really know anyone so I was kind of hoping someone could show me about? I’m trying to get a transfer to here from Reid Kerr…my old college at home.’
‘Ok,’ one of the people said.
‘Sorry, you’re not interested,’ Eilidh said, deflated. ‘I won’t bother you any more.’ She smiled sadly and turned to walk away. She cursed silently to herself, annoyed that she’d thought she could have friends in a place like this.
‘Hey, sorry,’ one of the girls called at her. ‘We’re going through a bit of a tough time at the moment and well, we’re not sure about letting anyone else into our group. But we’re just being selfish. You need some support too, if you’re new here.’
‘It’s ok,’ Eilidh promised. ‘If it’s not a good time I can wait.’
‘No, really,’ the girl promised. ‘I’m Hannah.’ She smiled and offered her hand.
Eilidh looked at it nervously, then smiled widely, ‘I’m Eilidh.’
‘This is the rest of my friends,’ Hannah said, leading her to everyone else. ‘This is Sarah, Nancy, Elliot, Zoe and Zack.’
They all said hey to Eilidh, and she said hey back. Nancy looked desperately depressed and as much as she wanted to help, Eilidh didn’t want to intrude.
‘Hey, we should phone Kris,’ Zoe said. ‘He always loves to welcome new people to Hollyoaks.’
‘Um, ok?’ Eilidh said.
‘Zack, have you got your phone handy?’ Zoe asked.
‘Why me?’ Zack groaned. ‘Why can’t you phone ‘im?’
‘Zack, please?’ Zoe said. ‘I have no credit left.’
‘Awrite man,’ Zack said. ‘I’ll get onto it. No way Zo, I ‘aven’t got ‘is number.’
‘Oh my god,’ Zoe complained.
‘I could go get him for you?’ Elliot offered.
‘Oh, cheers,’ Zoe smiled and let Elliot go.
‘Here, what’s wrong with them?’ Eilidh asked Zack and Zoe. ‘Hannah, Sarah and Nancy.’
‘Nancy’s nephew is really ill in hospital,’ Zoe whispered.
‘Oh, no,’ Eilidh apologised. ‘I’m so sorry…’
‘Don’t worry,’ Zoe said. ‘We can’t really do much.’
‘What have I missed, girls?’ an Irish voice burst through their thoughts as the door behind them flew open.
‘New arrival,’ Zoe explained. She pulled Eilidh forward, ‘Kris, this is Eilidh. Eilidh, this is Kris.’
‘Small world,’ Eilidh smiled.
‘Small world indeed,’ Kris replied. ‘What are you doing here?’
‘Sorting out a transfer,’ Eilidh said. ‘What about you?’
‘Me? I’m already on a course here.’
‘You two already met?’ Zack asked, looking shocked.
‘Yes, we met last night,’ Kris said.
‘You could say we’re already well acquainted,’ Eilidh joked.
‘Acquaint…what?’ Zoe looked from one to the other.
‘Shall you tell them or shall I?’ Eilidh said sweetly.
‘Tell us what?’ Zack asked. ‘Hey guys, I think you’re gonna want to hear this one.’
Hannah and Sarah looked over, uninterested, and Nancy looked up briefly from her bubble of grief.
‘Yeah, we met last night, so what?’ Kris said. ‘Eilidh, you’ll be sorry for this! We kissed outside her hotel room. What’s the big deal in that?’

'Good,' Kris glared at them. 'How about we head down to the SU Bar for some drinks and a proper welcome for Eilidh?'
'Sounds good,' Zoe replies.
'Yeah, let's go man,' Zak jumped to the ready.
Eilidh nodded shyly.
She walked in silence with Zak as they headed to the bar, and Zoe was up ahead with Kris.
'So, you gonna tell me what's going on with you and Kris then?' Zak asked her.
'What?' Eilidh looked alarmed. 'Nothing! We kissed, that was it.'
'Yeah right,' Zak was sceptical. 'I've not seen him this happy since he was with Jess.'
'Right, Eilidh, this is the wonderful SU Bar,' Kris called back. 'What would you all like to drink?'
'Wow, Kris getting a round in,' Zoe said nudging Zak. 'Eilidh, you ought to take full advantage. Come on,' she took Eilidh's arm to take her swiftly through the pub's doors.
Zoe and Eilidh sat around a table, waiting for Kris and Zak to appear with their drinks.
'Do you like Kris?' Zoe asked, breaking the awkward silence.
'Huh? Why do you think that?' Eilidh felt her cheeks burning red with embarrassment.
'The way you keep looking over at him,' Zoe smiled as Eilidh snapped her head back around to face Zoe. 'And you turned red when we mentioned him back at HCC and just there when I asked. Kinda gives it away, you know.'
'I guess,' Eilidh said. 'What can I do though? Why would he like me anyway?' She indicated her dress of choice: long, blue/black with various chains and random strips of material hanging off it (youtube D'espairsRay - Garnet for a better idea on her dress. Bear in mind, the band is all male.)
'He's not closed-minded,' Zoe explained. 'He can't afford to be.'
'Right, a vodka and coke for Eilidh and a pint for Zak,' Zak smiled as he handed Eilidh her drink and sat down with his.
'Thanks,' Eilidh said, taking the drink. Kris appeared a few seconds later with a pint for himself and a glass of wine for Zoe. He looked annoyed and was glaring at Zak.
'Thanks Zak,' he said in his usual sarcastic tones.
'You're welcome, mate,' Zak said, slapping him on the back and resuming his seat beside Eilidh. Kris looked less than pleased to be taking a seat next to Zoe. Zak engaged Eilidh in conversation, not noticing that she kept glancing at Kris, who looked constantly irritated. When they were all nearly finished their drinks, Eilidh leapt up quickly.
'Same again?' she asked them all.
'I'll help you,' Kris jumped up just as quickly. Zoe looked at them both with mild amusement, and winked at Eilidh for encourage, encouragement. Eilidh walked up to the bar, hardly waiting on Kris. He tripped over a chair in his haste to catch up with her. He slipped his arm around her waist and smiled as she let him pull her close.
'He must really like her,' Zoe nudged Zak across the table. 'He never loses his cool like that.'
'He's so full of himself,' Zak replied. 'She's well fit but Kris can't hold himself back.'
'Oh Zak,' Zoe said, becoming the shoulder to cry on for him. 'He's nto been right since he and Jess fell out. And when she left it broke him. Let him be happy.' She turned to watch for Kris and Eilidh. She saw them together: Kris was still holding his arm around Eilidh and she was pressing into him. They looked happy.
'But I like her,' Zak complained.
'You've just met her,' Zoe scolded him.
'But she's well fit,' Zak looked pathetic. 'And that didn't exactly stop Kris did it? God, Zo, you have to help me get her.'
'I'm not doing that to Kris!'
'What about me?' Zak looked from Zoe to Eilidh, who reached up and kissed Kris on the cheek before placing her arm around his waist and cuddling into him.

'Oh, you'll be ok,' Zoe smiled, rubbing his arm. 'That's my phone!' she cried as it vibrated in her jeans pocket. 'Zak, I've got to go. Look, things will be fine.' She pointed him in the direction of the bar, where a couple of girls has just come in. She waved goodbye to Eilidh and wished her good luck across the room.
'Screw this,' Kris said. He turned to face Eilidh. 'Do you want to come back to ours?' He wrapped his arms around her and leant in for a kiss. She allowed him a peck on the lips and then pulled back.
'Back to yours?' she asked, trailing her hands down his back. He smiled, stepping back and offering her his hand. She took it gladly and let him lead her back to his room in Halls.
The stumbled down the hall, lip-locked in a frenzied passion, almost as if a good pull was going out of fashion. Kris paused for a moment to open the door to his room and slid inside after Eilidh.
* Eilidh lay across Kris's chest, resting peacefully and he held her while she relaxed. As she shifted her position to a more comfortable one, the bed covers slipped slightly. Kris moved his hand with the intention of touching her shoulder, bare and pale, but instead he pulled the covers over her tightly to keep her warm. Then he felt her lips tickling his bare skin, and he froze.
'Sorry,' she whispered and pushed herself up. She smiled at his, gazing into his eyes and tenderly stroking his hair.
And then her phone rang, blasting out the drum beats of the chorus section of Worlds Collide (on Worlds Collide by Apocalyptica).
Eilidh cursed under her breath as she leant over Kris to find her bag with the phone inside it somewhere.
'No, leave it,' Kris complained.
'It might be important!' she told him. She found her phone, but it had stopped ringing. Kris slowly pulled it out of her hand before she could check who the caller was.
'If it's important, they'll call back,' he smiled.
'I guess,' she said. She was about to relax and lie down when her phone rang again. She made sure she answered it this time.
'What's up?' she asked down the line. 'God's sake. Not again. Make her a good strong coffee, right. I'll be there as soon as I can. Actually, make us one as well will you Jack?' she groaned, feeling her body complain against the alcohol content in her system. 'Why do you think I want a coffee? I've been drinking all afternoon. No, Jack, I have friends. I might have been with him. Get over it. I'll see you soon.'

no one has anything to say on all my hard work =O Cheers. I should have the next bit up tomorrow...I had it written down but I seem to have lost the next bit of paper ><

Eilidh hunted for her clothes on the floor, detangling them from Kris's.
'Where are going in such a hurry?' Kris asked, trying to grab a hold of her. 'Was I really that bad?'
'Nah, I have to get back to the hotel,' she said, pushing him away. 'That was my brother. He said Mum's had a breakdown again.'
'What do you mean 'a breakdown'?'
'I'll tell you later,' Eilidh stopped for a moment. She turned to Kris, who was now sitting up and looking bemused. 'Thanks for this afternoon. I'll call you, yeah?' She kissed him on the cheek and ran out of the room.
* 'Mum, Jack,' Eilidh called on them when she got to the hotel.
'In here,' Jack replied. Eilidh walked into the living/dining area, where her mum was slumped into a chair and Jack was holding his arm around here. Various sheets of paper were lying innocently on the table. Eilidh looked from her brother, to the papers and settled on her mother.
'They found us,' she whispered.
'What?'
'They found us, Eilidh,' Jack said and he indicated hte white papers on the table. Eilidh looked through them, picking one up:
To my loving family, it's been a while since you came to visit me. In fact, I think my whole four years in prison have been lacking in your appearance. I trust my girls are well and I look forward to seeing you soon, with a steaming fresh haggis and chips from the chippy, all covered in batter and vinegear, just the way I like it. And remember, my love, my world, if you have moved it will not be difficult for me to find you. And you will pay most dearly if you have moved. Diane, I heard you were promoted from assisting consultant to consultant in the hospital. I congragulate you. A most wonderful achievement. And Eilidh, my darling, I heard that you gained your Highers at the highest level. You shall be rewarded most graciously when I return to your loving care. All my love to my girls, Robert x
Eilidh dropped the letter back to the table.
'They know we're here...' she gasped. What can we do?'
'Nothing,' Jack informed her. 'Absolutely nothing! Eilidh, you can look after her. I'm going out.'
'Out where? Jack, Mum needs us both just now!' The door slammed shut in reply. 'Jack!' Eilidh called on him, running to the door. She saw another bit of paper on the ground, addressed to Jack. She picked it up, half afraid of what it ight say.
Next time, I won't fail.
'Oh my god,' she whispered. She put the threat into her pocket and went back through to see her mum.
'Don't worry dear, we'll be ok,' Diane said.
'I don't want to move again, Mum,' she said. 'We've only just got here and I have friends.'
'I know, and I'm sorry,' she told her daughter. 'As long as he is alive, we can't afford to stay in one place too long. I don't want to lose you or Jack.'
'I know, Mum,' Eilidh said. 'Keep moving us around and we will lose interest. Please, let's just give this place some time. It might be ok.' She smiled and hugged her mum. 'Let's get you to bed now, eh? You'll be knackered.' She got Diane to her room, and then sneaked back to her own and opened her diary.
I wish that man who called himself my father would just die. After all that's happened, all we've suffered, he still comes back to give us more grief. I don't want to move again, but we might have to. Because of this: She use paper clips to clip in the letter and the threat and then continued writing. I've just settled in here. Lots of friends already and I'm my old self again. Literally. I wasted no time in jumping into bed with Kris today either. Although...we were rather drunk. Still...he is so amazing. I'm afraid that if Mum decides she's moving, I'll stay behind ust because I loved this place too much. And I've only been here like 2 days. Is it wrong to feel happy again? Please let me know. I don't want to feel the temptation that he put in me so long ago. Now that I have once again learnt how to breathe, let me enjoy this air no longer tainted by my own fear and hate.

'Hi, Kris,' Jack said to his phone. 'Fancy meeting for a drink soon?'
'I can't,' Kris said, appearing behind him. 'I'm already nursing a hangover from hell. I could try a latte though. Il Gnosh?'
'Sure thing,' Jack smiled.
They sat in the restaurant, drinking coffee and Kris subtley avoiding any type of food for fear of losing it soon after. Jack ate little nibbles, hungry but not wanting to feel like he was pressurising Kris into anything.
'You took your time to call me,' Kris said suddenly.
'Yeah, sorry,' Jack apologised. 'There's been things on at home.'
'Is this something you want to talk about,' Kris asked. 'Or is it a private matter?'
'It's meant to be private. But I mean like, I have my mother and sister but I feel so alone. Like I can't talk to them. You ok to listen to melodramatic ramblings?'
'Go for it kiddo,' Kris smiled, and slid his hand across the table to touch Jack's.
'It was going on for years. My dad was old fashioned, beat my mum, and did who knows what to my sister. But he treated me great. That was, until I took my first boyfriend home. My dad got drunk a lot which was the source of a lot of his problems. And he was a homophobe. When he caught me with...Sam he decided to take a brush or something and hit Sam over the head. Killed him outright. Tried to get me too. He failed. The court case was dreadful and things with my sister came out too. She's so fragile because of it all. Well...that's the short version of it.'
'Gosh, I'm sorry,' Kris said, feeling really bad for Jack and his family.
'We get by,' Jack smiled shyly, trying to suggest that they kiss. Kris took the hint and offered to pay the bill and lead Jack to the fountain and let instinct take over.
'Not in public, please,' an angry teenage voice said. 'We got kids round here you know. Don't want them to be mentally scarred, like.'
'Well Ste,' said Kris turning round to face him and Amy who was holding Leah. 'If you don't want that child to be as messed up as you, you ought to get a million miles away as quickly as possible.'
'Is there a problem?' Ste growled. 'You sound like you need your head doing in.'
'Ste!' Amy scolded him. 'Come on, let's go back to the flat.'
'Yeah that's right,' Kris shouted after them. 'Run away home just when things get tough for yous.'
'Kris,' Jack said. 'Are a couple of kids really worth it?'
'Sorry,' Kris smiled. 'They had this horrid lie about their daughter. I don't know why they've still got her. Poor creature.'
'Some people shouldn't be parents,' Jack said sadly.
'I agree,' Kris said. 'But I'm glad yours got together, however nasty your old man was. You're amazing.'
'Cheers,' Jack smiled. 'Got anywhere more...private?'
'Sure thing,' Kris glanced seductively at Jack and then they burst out laughing. They walked together hand in hand to a more private place.
