I like Rhydian but he shouldn't be on the X Factor.

He deserves to be in a broadway show, he isn't the kind of guy that you would buy an album of.

Jess rolled her eyes.

“Why would I be avoiding you?”
“I don’t know, you tell me. You’re burying your head in your work, with the kids, the baby, Cady, everything else, and you’re forgetting about yourself”
“Kris, it’s my job, you know the thing you do to get money, the thing you do because you want to, you have a passion for, okay? I’m not burying my head in it, I’m just doing my work. And Kris why would I want to remember about myself, when every time I close my eyes, all I see is Steve, and I’m reminded of what we had, and what we’ll never had”

Jess paused, sighing deeply

“Not that it’s got anything to do with you”, she finished. “Look Kris, if it wasn’t for Malachy and Erin, you wouldn’t even be here, you wouldn’t know anything about me, so why don’t you just get Malahcy to do his own work and then you two can both get back out my life, and stay out”

Jess said her entire speech looking at the floor. When she finished she dared a quick glance at Kris and then back at the floor. Kris was not despondent by what he had just heard

“Is that what you really want Jess?”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”

Kris just shrugged and walked out the office, leaving Jess angry, confused and frustrated. She got up and followed Kris as he walked out the front of the door.

“Stop playing these pathetic games and leave me alone Kris!”, Jess shouted out the door, but Kris didn’t respond and left Jess to close the door on him, more confused than ever.

Jess forget about flipping Steve will you? If he cared about you he'd be back by now so just leave it, Kris is here for you and you love him (you've just forgotten that you do) so act on it!

In an ideal world for Jess in this fic, Steve and Jess would be married with five kids of their own, living it up in Hollywood, and everything would be hunky dory . . .only it isn't lol!

So like i said, we will wait and see what happens, whether Jess gets what she wants, and whether in fact it is a Hollywood lifestyle that she wants . . .

Jess stormed back into the office and sat down at her desk, frustrated, wanting to vent her anger at someone. But after a few deep cleansing breaths, Jess calmed herself down, and began on the rota she had so nicely promised to the kids. She carried this on for roughly 20 minutes until she was disturbed by the sound of a baby crying.

Not wanting Holly to think that Jess was taking over, she waited a few minutes and then casually entered the living area carrying the big piece of card with the rota on it in one hand

“You alright?”, Jess asked, speaking again quickly before Holly had time to answer, “You don’t mind me just putting this up in here do you?”

Holly shook her head, so Jess began blue-taccing it to the wall, taking a quick glance out into the garden where the majority of the kids were playing. She smiled to herself, seeing the grins on their faces. Kris didn’t know what he was talking about - how was she throwing herself into her work. She was doing something she loved and she was getting the biggest reward of all. What more could she want?

Jess turned round and saw a happy Holly gently rocking Millie to sleep.

“You okay then?”, Jess whispered to Holly.

Holly nodded and smiled back, yawning as she did so.

“I’ll be back in about half an hour okay? Just got to do some work upstairs”, Jess told Holly and made her way upstairs.

Jess firstly went into Erin’s room, not sure if she was outside or in her room. As she opened the door, she discovered the little girl lying on her back on her bed, staring up at the ceiling. Jess came and sat next to her on the bed, and then lay back, seeing what Erin would do. Expecting her to move away, Jess was shocked when Erin moved closer to Jess, twisted herself round so that she was now lying with her feet dropping off the side of the bed, whereas Jess lay with her head still on the pillow. Erin rested her head on Jess’ stomach, and began to speak

“Can I stay here forever?”, Erin asked quietly

Jess wasn’t sure what to say in return, so waited for Erin to continue, if she was going to

“I like it here”, Erin said, as she adjusted herself to get more comfortable on the bed, and on Jess.
