When he walked out he caught Belle hurrying through into the kitchen, she obviously wasn’t quick enough not to get caught. Kris followed and sat down at the table, throwing his head back sighing heavily. He’d been all ready to give Jess the ring, to tell her that he wanted more than what they had now, he was prepared to chance everything for a greater commitment but now he wasn’t sure at all. It hadn’t taken him long to figure out that Jess was the one for him, even though he wasn’t really the relationship type before her, but now all he wanted was to show her how much she meant to him. Sighing once more he took the box out of his pocket and placed it on the table, knocking it back and forth with his hands.
“So you really were going to do it then?” Belle asked, dragging him from his thoughts and he nodded glumly. “Well what you sitting here for, get back in there you clown.”
“Leave it Belle.”
“Never mind that, move” she said shooing him with her hands but he didn’t move so she had to do something else. The chair he was sat in was facing away from her so she waked up behind it and tipped it over making him fall to the floor. “Now you’re off the chair and on your feet you may as well go back in there.” She beamed and he shot her a dirty look before sitting back down on a different chair, this time one where he could keep an eye on where she was and what she was doing. He picked up the box and took he ring out, and was ready to throw it. Since Belle had shown it to him it had messed him up so much and he hated it.
In the next room Jess was lying on the sofa, completely alone. The tears were welling up in her eyes. She couldn’t lie there after saying what she had, she didn’t care how much pain she was in she owed him an apology and she could hear muttering coming from the kitchen so knew that he was there with Belle. She stood in the hall for a couple of seconds trying to make out what they were on about but he voices were quite hushed. Quietly she pushed the door open and walked up behind Kris leaning down, draping her arms around his shoulders. He hadn’t heard or seen her come in, and still had the ring in his hand and tightened his grip on it but not quick enough, Jess seen something catch the light although she didn’t know what it was.
“I’m sorry” she whispered into his ear and kissed his cheek. “I just…the look on your face had me really worried. I don’t want to argue.” She told him and he relaxed in the chair and pulled her round so that she was on his knee. The ring still in clasped safely in his hand. “Am I forgiven then?”
“That all depends.” He grinned at her, while Belle stood with her back to them smiling away. She would’ve left the room but she couldn’t being herself to move from the spot she was on.
“On what?”
“Whether you still think you’re leaving here this evening or not.”
“Well you see all the B&Bs and hotels are fully booked so I’ve got nowhere to stay, I was hoping you’d let me share with you.” She laughed, and noticed that her head ache had left her, unfortunately the sick feeling in her stomach was still there though.
“I think we can come to some sort of arrangement.”
“Right well on that note I think I should leave now” Belle said interrupting Kris and Jess, who had totally forgotten about her being there.
“We seem to make her leave her own house quite a lot”
“She wouldn’t go if she didn’t want to, trust me.” He told her. “Listen Jess about before I…”
“Forget about it.”
“No I can’t, I have something for you. It’s not much really…” he started before telling her to hold out her hand in front of her, she was a bit reluctant at first but after a little bit of persuasion she did and he placed he ring in her hand.
“Oh My God, Kris it’s beautiful, is it what I think it is? She asked getting all excited, the tears threatening to fall as she threw her arms around him and hugged him tighter than ever.
"Yeah it's real gold with diamonds and sapphires, I'm not gonna give you a fake am I?" he joked.

Jess was unable to take her eyes from the ring that she held in her hands. She couldn’t believe that he had gave her anything like this it was beautiful, the only time she managed to stop looking at it was when Kris spoke to her again. Of course she was waiting to hear the words she thought were going to come with the ring but he never said them, well not straight away and she was beginning to wonder if he was going to, or if he was just giving her the ring as a gift, nothing else.
“I still have something to ask you” he smiled but before he could say anything else she kissed him and shouted “YES!” more than once. “I haven’t even asked you anything yet.”
“You don’t have to; of course I’ll marry you”
“Wow this is a bit embarrassing, I was only going to ask you’d get up a minute, my leg’s gone dead” he said trying to keep a straight face and Jess felt herself blush. She’d been sure that he was going to ask her and now she felt nothing short of foolish. She quickly got up from off his knee and went to walk away but he grabbed hold of her arm spinning her round to face him and he got down on one knee. Looking down at him she burst out in tears, she was so happy, the moment she’d been waiting for was here. “What you crying for, I’m only tying my lace” he joked before getting a bit more serious but Jess didn’t take any notice and brushed off what he was saying. “Oi come back here you.”
“So you can play me again, I don’t think so Kris” she told him and smiled before she walked off out of the kitchen, even though she was smiling she was desperate to get away from him so she could let her emotions out.
“Well now I look like a plum down on my knee talking to my imaginary girlfriend.” He said to himself, making Jess who was stood outside the room listening to him jabbering on about nothing go back in. Walking back in the room she seen that he was still down on the floor and shuffled forward so he was right in front of her. “No more jokes Jess, I promise.” He beamed taking hold of her hand and slipping the ring from her grasp and placed it on her finger. “Will you marry me?”
“On that you have to be kidding. Where was the big build up, telling me how much you love me and…but I guess that’s all I’m gonna get isn’t it?” she said in mock horror at how he’d just come out with it. He stayed on the floor in front of her for a little bit longer until she pulled him up to his feet hugging him tightly. “I think I answered a bit earlier though”
“Oh how romantic is that? I never even asked before you could at least grace it with an answer now I have.”
“Ask me again then.” She said pulling away from him and he shook his head. “Go on”
“You’re so lucky I’m in a good mood today.” He grinned and asked her again, this time adding a little bit more of a speech to accompany it. Before he managed to finish she’d done exactly what she did earlier and shouted “YES!” at the top of her voice and nearly knocked Kris over as she threw herself at him. “Steady on”
“Sorry but it’s not everyday I get engaged.” She laughed, because she knew if she didn’t then she’d end up crying.

Oh kay I just love you!

Belle was now stood outside of the kitchen door, waiting to go in, she didn’t want to just barge straight in, they’d need a little time alone to let it sink in but when she was least expecting it Jess opened the door to see Belle standing there and started to squeal and jump up and down excitedly. After a few excited squeals she threw her arms around Belle and hugged her tightly and stared at her ring over Belle’s shoulder.
“I’m getting married” she kept on saying, if only to try and get it to sink in. “I’m getting married to KRIS!”
“Congratulations” Belle said smiling away happily and winking at Kris who smiled back at her. “I’m so happy for the both of you.”
“Oh my god I have to go phone Zo, she’s going to be so excited.” Jess said rushing off into the hall only to come running back to the kitchen to flash off her engagement ring once more before running back off.
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone as excited about anything before” Belle told him as she carried on with what she had been doing earlier.
“What have I let myself in for?” he joked as he heard Jess on the phone telling Zoe all about what had happened and how she’d been sick and Kris had looked after her and then sprung this on her. “3…2…1” he counted down knowing for a fact that she was going to shout on him and no sooner had he finished his name was called. “Coming princess.” He called back and pulled himself up off the chair to go and see what she wanted.
“Zo wants to speak to you” she told him, passing the phone over. “And be nice” she warned him.
“I’m always nice” he replied before holding the phone up to his ear and saying hello to his friend who he couldn’t get to shut up once she’d heard him. She ranged from “congratulations on the engagement” to “and why the hell haven’t you phoned?” which amused him greatly. He lost count of the number of times he went to open his mouth and had to close it again because his lecture wasn’t over. As she carried on going at him he began to roll his eyes and make faces at Jess who was soon laughing.
“And you’d better be listening to me Fisher” Zoe warned him bringing his attention back to what seemed to be a one way conversation up until that point.
“Of course I’m listening to you Zo, how could I not? You’ve only bent my ear for what almost twenty minutes now”
“If you weren’t a friend I’d be offended you know that?” she shot back at him before telling him that she was really happy for them not to mention excited. “Oh yeah and you’re in serious trouble when you get back, next time you go away you will phone like every day. See you tomorrow”
“More trouble, I think I’ve learnt my lesson. In fact I definitely have.”
“Yeah well serves you right, and make sure you look after Jess between now and when I see you otherwise there’ll be trouble.” She told him and he laughed a little before saying goodbye and handing the phone back to Jess who squealed a bit more down the phone, apparently she was unable to actually believe that she was getting married, and to Kris of all people.

Kris went back through to see Belle who was sat at the table having made the coffee, with her magazine in hand. As he sat down she looked at him over the top of the page, when he looked over at her she quickly looked back down at the it until he looked away again.
“What you doing?”
“Just making sure I was looking at the right person.” She said to receive a puzzled look from Kris. “Well I know I went on at you but I’m actually quite shocked that you went through with it.”
“Is that a good thing?”
“Of course it is” she said and went to say something else when she and Kris heard a loud bang coming from the hall. Kris shouted on Jess to ask what it was but there was no answer. Jumping from his seat he rushed out to see her passed out on the floor, the receiver dangling from the base of the phone, with Zoe’s voice calling out Jess’ name. Kris really had no idea what to do, he was panicking the sight of her passed out on the floor terrified him the previous night and it was no easier now. Belle moved him out of the way and told him to deal with the phone. Again not knowing what to do he picked it up and started to tremble with fear, he couldn’t even talk, he just listened to Zoe before shoving the handset back so that the voice stopped.
By this time Belle had lay Jess flat on her back and was trying to get her to open her eyes, while telling Kris to pull himself together and phone for an ambulance. Before he’d even reached out for it though Jess was slowly coming round. Her eyes flickered open slowly and she rubbed her head and wore a confused expression, she hadn’t a clue what had just happened.
“What…what am I doing down here?”
“You had a fall love. You’ll be alright, we’re going to take you to the hospital get you checked over.” Belle told her while Kris just knelt down beside her holding onto her hand.
“No, I just need something to eat.” She said weakly, the last thing she wanted was to go to hospital.
“Jess honey you need a doctor to tell you what’s wrong. You can’t just keep on going like this.” Belle replied but Jess insisted that she was fine all she needed was something to eat. She already knew what was wrong with her, she’d known for quite a while but didn’t want people to know, not even Kris. She didn’t want people to treat her differently and that’s exactly what they would do if they knew the truth.

Kay I have a feeling it isn't anything too bad for some reason. I think I might know what it is, I'm probably wrong though.

I don't think she needs to go to the hospital either, maybe I'm just in a good mood and I am failing to see the bad point of view though.

For the rest of the day Jess was summoned to the sofa for complete rest just like she had been the previous day. Kris and Belle made sure she had everything that she needed to be comfortable, and even though she knew she needed something to eat to stop her fainting again she couldn’t face her food.
“Some fun this is, we should be out celebrating” Jess sulked knowing she was right. She’d just been proposed to and here she was lying half dead on the sofa, but she’d been told that she wasn’t moving unless she really needed to. “If I eat can I get up?” she asked after a few minutes, she had to do something, there was nothing really wrong with her well not in her mind, she pushed it as far back as she could and pretended it wasn’t even there. The others were just being over protective, it was for nothing.
“No you can’t but the sooner you eat the sooner you’ll feel better.” Kris told her as he sat stroking her hair and twirling it around his fingers. “And as soon as we get back tomorrow you’re going to the doctors and I won’t take no for an answer.” He said but she was already arguing back.
“Kris honey if Jessica doesn’t want to go…” Belle told him and Kris nodded his head to tell her that he knew but he didn’t care. She had to go whether she liked it or not, it was for her own good.
“I need some air” Jess announced and went to get up but was held down by Kris. “This is just annoying me now Kris. I know you think that lying here is good for me but it isn’t.”
“How would you know when we don’t even know what’s up? I’m trying to take care of you, you know like I should when you’re ill.”
“Yes and I’m grateful, really I am. I love it when we’re together like this but not because I’m “sick”.” She said and Kris just looked at her, while Belle sat completely silent. She’d already said her part and she didn’t want to cause trouble with either of them. “Don’t look at me like that.”
“Like what?”
“Like you’re annoyed with me.”
“I’m not annoyed, just worried. One minute you’re chatting away on the phone the next you’re out cold on the floor. Something’s really not right Jess, and the longer you leave it the worse it’ll get.”
“I’m dealing with it my own way. There’s nothing I can do, I just have to deal with it, I’m going to get worse before I get better.” she said immediately regretting it, because now Kris was going to want answers but before he could say anything she had escaped him, and securely locked in the bathroom on her own where she had time to think without people having a go. She sat in complete silence. She couldn’t believe she’d been so stupid by almost letting it slip but then again he’d have to be told sooner or later.
