with all of my, i always think of the outline first, then a name usually comes to mind lol.

I'll keep thinking, though i'm sure you'll come up with a fantastic one anyway lol !!

Chapter twenty eight

After failing to get a reply from Jess, Kris decided to search for her. He didn’t want Kyle speaking to her first through fear that she would forgive him. Kris quickly text Gilly to tell him to make his way back to halls, in case Jess turned up, and set off in pursuit of her. He followed the path that she had taken upon walking away from him and hoped that she hadn’t got very far. Kris passed numerous houses and apartment blocks before spotting a dark haired girl sat on a bench across the road. Willing it to be Jess, he crossed over and quietly walked up behind her.
“Jess?” Kris knew that he would look stupid if it wasn’t her but decided to call out anyway.
“Go away,” a venomous voice answered back. It was definitely her.
“You need to hear me out.”
“What I need is for you to stay away from me.” Kris walked to the front of the bench so that she was forced to face him.
“Jess, please. I’m begging you to hear me out. And I never usually beg so that must show you how important this is.”
“Am I supposed to be grateful that you’re letting yourself beg just this once?” her voice was getting louder with every comment.
“Listen, you stupid cow, I am trying to look out for you. I didn’t ask to fall in love with you, but I did. This fact means that, no matter what you do, I am going to be there to pick up the pieces. I want to be there to pick up the pieces. The least you can do is let me.” The shocked look on Jess’s face made him realise what he had just said. It was too late to take it back or deny it now.
“You’re in love with me?” All her anger seemed to have disappeared.
“Yes. I’m sorry but I am.” Kris watched her look away from him. “Will you please let me explain?”
“How do I know you mean it?” Jess asked him quietly.
“What?!”
“How do I know that you didn’t just say that to stop me from yelling at you? How do I know that those words weren’t used for the sympathy vote?”
“You have got to be kidding Jess.”
“Leave me alone,” she snapped. “I don’t trust you anymore. And don’t you dare stand there and say stuff that you don’t mean.”
“I do mean it you stubborn snob. I’m not going to waste my time on convincing you or on telling you the truth about Kyle. You want me to leave you alone, then consider it done Princess. You might want to talk to Kyle’s neighbour though. She might still be bothered about helping you.” Without looking back at the woman of his dreams, Kris made his way back to halls. He needed to put as much distance between them as possible.
“It didn’t take you long to stop picking up the pieces,” an emotional Jess muttered after him.

Chapter twenty nine

“Excuse me. You don’t actually know me but you’ve probably seen me around with Kyle.”
“Yes, dear.”
“Good. I’m sorry to disturb you but I understand that you’ve spoken to my friends.” Jess watched the woman in front of her nod and beckon her into the flat.
“Please make yourself comfortable. I won’t be a minute,” the woman instructed. Jess settled herself onto the settee and waited. She had decided to take Kris’s advice and get some answers from Kyle’s neighbour. She was still livid at him but had begun to realise that Kris wouldn’t have come here out of malice.
“Now, you might need this.” The woman reappeared in the living room and handed Jess a glass of wine. “It’s all I’ve got I’m afraid.”
“It’s just what I need actually,” Jess thanked her.
“I guess you want to know what I told your friends.”
“If that’s not too much trouble.” Jess held onto the glass in her hand tightly and listened intently to the woman.
“You’re definitely not the first person that has fallen for him, so don’t feel stupid in any way. He is a disturbed person and I can definitely see why the courts stopped access to his daughter at this present time.” The woman was interrupted by a choking noise coming from Jess’s direction.
“Daughter?”
“She’s five. I guess he never got to the stage where he told you about her.”
“No, he didn’t. That must be the girl in the pictures that he displays around the flat,” Jess muttered. She had never got around to asking him about them.
“I think you’re probably right. Are you fine with me continuing?” the woman asked delicately. She was greeted with a nod from Jess. A few minutes later, every detail that Kris and Gilly had learnt upon their visit, had been retold and Jess sat in a stunned silence.
“Like I said earlier, you’re not the first person that he has sucked in. Leave him where he is, dear, and sort your life out. You have friends that genuinely care about you. They are more important than some guy that you might have been in love with.”
After thanking the woman repeatedly, Jess quickly scribbled down a note for her to give to Kyle, and headed back to halls. She now understood that Kris was only trying to help her and that he may actually love her. In her moment of clarity, Jess realised that she loved him too. She had all along and Kyle had just been a distraction because she was certain that Kris didn’t feel the same. Jess wasn’t sure if she was ready for a relationship yet but hoped that she hadn’t blown any chance of her and Kris eventually having one. All she had to do was convince him that they needed to be together once her heart and head had healed.

“Kris, you’re in love her. It’s not going to be that easy to cut her from your life.”
“Look what good telling her that did me.” Kris felt uncomfortable revealing the reason behind his rash decision to Zak and proceeded to make them both a coffee with his back turned. “She didn’t believe me.”
“You’re going to ignore her because she didn’t believe you? You should be fighting for her.” Kris just shook his head.
“It’s over Zak. Whatever we did have is over.” He handed Zak his coffee.
“I really think that you’re making a mistake.”
“Leave it,” Kris yelled. This decision was the hardest that he’d ever had to make and he didn’t need it criticised. Walking away from a shocked Zak, he stormed into his room and slammed the door shut loudly.
