Scene 1: Kris is sat with his feet up on the table reading the HCC magazine. Jess comes in

Jess: (in astonishment) what are you doing here?

Kris: great to see you too

Kris places the magazine on the table and stands up and goes over to her

Kris: so don’t I get a hug?

Kris puts his arms out but Jess shoves him out of the way and goes into her room. Kris watched her looking confused.

Kris: (mutters) stroppy cow

Kris goes into her room and stands in the doorway with his arms folded

Kris: what is wrong with you now?

Jess gives him a dirty look and carries on brushing her hair and applying make – up.

Kris: this isn’t like you Jess. You’ve usually got a lot to throw back at me

Jess: well maybe I’ve come to my senses and realised you’re not worth the bother

Kris: Is this because I left without any word

Jess claps

Jess: (sarcastically) well done

Kris: oh come on you can’t begrudge me a bit of space

Jess: go Kris I am NOT in the mood

Kris: fine. Let me know when you’ve stopped being a cow

Jess looks angrily as Kris leaves and goes to his room

Scene 2: The students are sat in the SU Bar on the purple sofas. Zak and Zoe are sat together giggling whilst Kris is sat with his arms folded looking fed up staring down at his converses.

Zoe: you two are doing my head in

Jess: we haven’t even said anything

Zoe: exactly. I think I preferred you two arguing that not talking at all

Jess: well if you’re looking for someone to blame then try that stupid Irish tranny

Zak and Zoe sigh and laugh

Kris: it’s you that has got the problem not me

Jess roles her eyes and takes another sip of her wine

Zoe: well you’d better sort it out soon because I’ve told you what we’ll do

Zak: yep we’ll throw you out

Kris: you and whose army

Enter Elliot and Steph

Elliot: can I get any of you a drink?

Kris: I wouldn’t mind another one

Elliot: Kris what are you doing here?

Kris: well I missed you all (looks at Jess) well most of you

Elliot: well I suppose I’ll get you a drink. Steph?

Steph: white wine please

Elliot: ok I’ll go and get them

Steph sits down next to Jess

Steph: (to Jess and Kris) you two are very quiet

Kris: Jess is in a moody with me

Steph: oh right

Jess: arrgh I’m going

Steph: oh don’t go I need some advice

Jess: ask me later

Jess gets up and exits the SU Bar

Zoe: Kris go after her

Kris: why me?

Zoe: because you’re the reason she is upset

Kris: fine. What has a guy to do to get some peace round here?

Kris gets up and exits the SU Bar

Don't worry Lianne I will continue with my others but last night the computer was being relly slow and I was trying to look for where I had got to on other fanfics to write more so I started yet another on because as you can probably tell I love writing these stories lol

Scene 3: Kris enters the flat

Kris: (calls out) Jess, Jess

Kris has a quick glance at the rooms and sees she isn’t there. He sits on the sofa and puts his feet on the table and texts her

‘where are you?’

Kris then turns on the TV and flicks through the channels. He keeps on glancing at the clock and then at his phone to see if she has replied.

Scene 4: Zak and Zoe are playing pool while Steph and Elliot are sitting chatting together on the sofa

Zak; do you think those two will last

Zoe: yeah don’t you?

Zak: nah I mean they are so different

Zoe: so are Kris and Jess but they are meant to be

Zak: try telling them that

Zoe: I have but they won’t listen. They are both stubborn

Zak: they’ll come to realise one day

Zoe: I sure hope so because I cannot stand their constant bickering. I’m beginning to think they enjoy upsetting each other

Zak: they do Kris especially. Sometimes I really think he goes overboard

Scene 5: Jess is walking through Hollyoaks. Jess sits on a bench and looks at the message from Kris, which she then deletes. Jess sits watching a couple of drunks walk by staring at her weirdly. She stands up and heads back to HCC.

Scene 6: Jess walks in shivering from the cold. Kris stands up and turns around

Kris: where have you been?

Jess: you’re hardly in any position to be questioning me

Kris: well sorry for caring

Jess: pity you didn’t care enough to tell me where you were or for how long you’d be gone

Kris: if I recall Jess when we left we were hardly on the best of terms

Jess; well whatever

Jess starts walking towards her room. Kris walks towards her and grabs her arm

Kris: no you don’t. I’ve not finished with you yet

Jess: Kris don’t I need to get to bed

Jess pulls away

Kris: fine have it your way

Kris storms towards the door

Jess: fine of you do… again

Kris; I just can’t win can I? You’re mad at me when I’m here and then when I go you’re still mad with me

Jess: I don’t expect you to understand

Kris; and what exactly is there for me to understand?

Jess: do you know what why don’t you do everyone a favour and just go back to wherever you disappeared to

Kris storms out slamming the door shut. Jess sits on her bed and tears run down her cheeks. After a while Jess goes to sleep

Scene 7: It is the next morning. Jess is sat eating some cereal. Kris comes through from his bedroom. Jess looks at him shocked. Kris is covered in cuts and bruises and is clutching his stomach as he walks. Kris also has a black eye; a cut lip and can barely walk. Kris sits down opposite Jess.

Jess: what happened?

Kris: so you suddenly care

Jess: Kris of course I care

Kris: If you must no I was texting you when I got mugged

Jess looks at him concerned. She stands up and stands directly beside him

Jess: have you been to the police?

Kris shook his head

Jess: why not?

Kris: I’ll probably do that this morning

Jess: I’ll come with you

Kris: no thanks I don’t think so

Jess: why not?

Kris: you made your feelings towards me perfectly clear last night

Jess: Kris I’m sorry I didn’t mean what I said honestly I was just annoyed with you

Kris: no I’m thankful to you because you have made me realised something

Jess: what’s that

Kris: that you actually are a spiteful cow now get out of my face

Kris walked to his room. Kris was in a great deal of pain and clutched his stomach and limped. Jess cried as she watched him.

Scene 8: Later on that day Zoe knocked on Kris’s door

Kris: Jess if that’s you…

Zoe walked in

Kris: oh I was getting myself prepared for another screaming match

Zoe sits down

Zoe: don’t you think you’re being a bit hard on her?

Kris: no… yes I know but Zo she really hurt me

Zoe: I know she did but I don’t think she meant to. She has been crying all morning and she is blaming you being mugged on herself. She’s a wreck Kris

Kris: well I’m hardly fit and healthy right now

Zoe: Kris she hates to see you like this and you being like this is tearing her apart. It’s down to you but I think you should talk to her

Zoe exits. Kris lies there for a few minutes and then gets up cringing in pain. He knocks on Jess’s door

Jess: Zo please leave me alone

Kris: Jess it’s me

Kris walked in

Jess: If you’ve come to shout at me again then go ahead we both know you enjoy upsetting me

Kris: how can you think that

Jess: maybe it has something to do with the fact that you are constantly putting me down and sometimes it goes beyond a joke

Kris sighs and sits down next to her. She watched as he cringes in pain sitting down

Kris: Jess I don’t mean to it’s just who I am it’s what I do I thought you know that

Jess: I do it’s just sometimes it all gets a bit to much and then you just up sticks and leave

Kris: I know I don’t make like easy for you Jess. I am sorry Jess

Jess: no it’s me that should be sorry. If it weren’t for me you wouldn’t have been mugged and beaten to a pulp

Kris: nah Jess that’s not your fault I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. It could have been anyone

Jess is still crying. Kris gently pulls her down so her head is on his lap

Kris; times like these I need a hug but that would hurt way to much

Kris runs his fingers through her hair and kisses her on the forehead.

Jess: I can’t believe someone has done this to you

Kris: I know

Jess: Kris I really am sorry for the way I spoke to you

Kris: I deserved it

Jess: no you defiantly didn’t

Kris: listen to you being all nice

Jess: I wish I was a bit nicer last night then none of this would have happened

Kris: I’ve told you…

Jess: I know

Kris: hey aren't you suppose to be at a lecture?

Jess: I don’t feel like going in today

Kris: well it looks like it’s just me and you for the rest of the day. Come on you look knackered and I could do with a lie down. Why don’t we just lie here and watch some daytime TV

Jess: ok

Jess turns the TV on and hands Kris the remote

Kris: ooh I’m honoured. Jessica Harris letting me be in charge of the remote control

Jess: I know not something that happens very often

Kris: you can say that again

They lie down. Kris wraps his arms around Jess and she cuddled up to him still upset. Kris kisses her on the forehead

Kris: I’m glad we’ve sorted things out

Jess: so am I

Kris: you have more channels that me

Jess: (smiles) you mean to say that you only came in here because I have a freeview box

Kris: no that and because I was getting bored of being mad with you princess

They both smile
