Kris's POV

It had been a few days since we’d arrived and me and Adam still weren’t getting on. On the other hand, me and Elly were getting along really well. We’ve been having so much fun just hanging out and talking about life in general. It’s as though we’ve been mates forever.
Jess and Sam have buzzed off to go shopping for the day, Adam’s gone to lectures which has left me alone with Elly for the next few hours.
“Over the Hedge or Toy Story?” She asked, holding 2 dvd cases up. I laughed at the choices. “The only things I could find.” She complained.
“Over the hedge then...” I told her. She opened the box to put it in. “No! Toy Story.”
She huffed and placed the dvd back in the box. She then opened the Toy Story box and got the dvd out, ready to put that into the dvd player.
“You sure about this?” She laughed.
“Yes.” I through a cushion at her.
“Er, OW!” She said, a little over the top. I laughed at her and she just put the dvd on. As soon as it was playing she sat down next to me and curled up in a ball her hair covering her like a blanket.

After the film had been on for half an hour, we gave up on watching it and ended up just talking. Not about anything interesting, just about anything that popped up into our head.
“You see, if that was real, they wouldn’t be able to stand up.” She told me, pointing at the random Barbie doll walking around.
“Well, it’s a cartoon, isn’t it.”
“I was just saying...” She rolled her eyes and smiled.
We both just sat there, talking about our childhood, what we want to do later in life, the kind of people we’re into.
“Obviously Jess is my kind of person.” I laughed, taking another swig of my beer. I was on my 5th by now, and starting to feel slightly drunk.
“Hmm, I want a mature, muscular man who has a great personality.” She told me, sipping on her coke.
“Yeah, well... You would.” I laughed.
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Nothing...” I said, laughing. She wacked me with a cushion. “Oi!”
I picked up the pillow lying next to me and hit her too. We ended up having a massive pillow fight, knocking lots of things over, and almost smashing a very expensive looking vase. Eventually we both collapsed on the sofa.
“I think we should stop now.” I laughed.
“Me too.” Elly agreed. She rolled over to face me and I rolled over to face her. I looked into her bright green eyes for a moment and we both found ourselves leaning in. What am I thinking? I love Jess and I’m leaning in to kiss her 16 year old sister?! But I couldn’t bring myself to pull away from her. It was as though I want to kiss her. But I don’t. I love Jess. I can’t resist Elly though. I find myself drawing closer and closer to her, until our lips meet.

Kris's POV

I pulled away instantly. She turned away from me and held onto her lips and I just stared at her. She’s 16 years old and I’m attracted to her?! What is going on?
“That shouldn’t have happened.” I finally said.
“Well, it did, didn’t it!” Elly said, in a panicky voice, still looking away from me. We both went silent again. Neither of us daring to talk encase something else happened. She went to stand up but I pulled her down.
“Why did that happen? You hated me...” I said, angrily.
“It wasn’t a big deal Kris. It was just a small kiss.” She finally looked at me. Instantly I saw the beauty in her that Jess never had. But it’s the kind of beauty I hate. The evil beauty. What am I even thinking? I don’t like Elly... But I do.
“Sorry.” I muttered.
“Why are you apologising?” She laughed.
“Yeah, why am I apologising? It should be you!” I replied.
“Me?”
“Yes You.” I said, standing up and walking over to the window.
“It wasn’t me who leaned in you know!”
“It was you who let me kiss you.”
“What else was I supposed to do, leave you embarrassed?” She asked, I turned around and glared at her.
“What are we doing to Jess?” I asked.
“Nothing...?”
“No! This is something. She’s been complaining about how horrible and ugly she feels, and then if she finds out I’ve kissed you she might-”
“Might?”
“She might try and kill herself again with depression.” I said. Elly laughed.
“Ha! Kris, you can’t expect that to every single bit of bad news, that’s what she’s going to do.”
“I guess you’re right.” I admitted, not looking at her because I know that if I do, I’ll get that urge to just grab her and...
But I can’t.
I won’t.
“Kris, I am sorry.” Elly muttered, blushing slightly. Her hair was wrapped around her arms like a shawl and she started playing with the end to try and hide how nervous she felt.
“It’s okay.” I said, walking over to her and giving her a big hug. The moment we pulled away, I could tell it would be hard to resist her. She glanced into my eyes for a moment and then immediately looked away.
“This is going to be awkward now, isn’t it?” She said.
“Yeah it is.”
“I don’t want it to be.”
“Well we can’t exactly stop it, can we?” I laughed.
“I can see why Jess really likes you.” She told me, holding my hand. I smiled at her and didn’t let go of her hand. Not for anything. It’s pathetic. I love Jess, yet I’m here, falling in love with her 16 year old sister. Sure, it was only 3 years, but 16 seemed so young. But when I think about how old she looks, well I wouldn’t ever have guessed younger than 18. We looked into each others eyes again and we both felt ourselves getting closer and closer together. I don’t even want this, but it’s coming and I know it. I don’t want to hurt Jess, I especially don’t want to hurt her with her younger sister, but it’s just so difficult. Our lips met again and a passionate spark ran through both our bodies as the kiss developed into something deep and fiery.
Suddenly the loud bang of the front door caught our attention and we sprung apart, quickly running to opposite ends of the room and finding something to have been doing. I started looking at all the cd’s on the rack whilst Elly messed with her hair in the mirror. It was a good job we heard the door too as it was Jess arriving back with bags full of shopping.
“Hey.” She smiled, walking into the room. “Kris, could you give me a hand?”
I nodded and began walking out of the room. I could see Elly glance at me, so I looked back at her and gave her an awkward smile, which she returned. I don’t believe what I’ve just done, but surprisingly I don’t regret it.

Kris's POV

The next day or so was so awkward between me and Elly. It was like we were both drawn to each other, but we couldn’t do anything. Someone always seemed to be around and when we were finally in a room alone together, someone would always call one of us or walk into the room. I hate this. I just can’t wait until we go home so I can get away from Elly. But Jess is enjoying it so much, she wants to stay another week. I’m not going to tell her she can’t. She’s finally seeing her family after years... But I can’t stay here any longer. I know the whole point of me coming was so that I could see my family, but I can’t go through with it. Malachy knows I’m here, so if he wants to see me, he can. It’s stupid. I haven’t wanted to talk to Malachy since he got Jess pregnant and that stupid baby nearly killed her; but Jess had made me.
“Kris, are you ever going to see your parents?” She asked me, stressing about her hair and her small bump.
“No.” I replied, flicking through the channels on the TV.
“But that was the whole reason for you being here!” She said, sounding annoyed.
“Yeah, but you don’t know what my family are like Jess.”
“I don’t need to know.”
“You do..”
“Well, I don’t see much point in you being here then. You’re obviously not enjoying it.” She said, putting the brush down and wrapping her arms around my shoulders.
“I don’t mind. And Malachy knows I’m here if he wants to see me.” I told her.
“Do you want to go home?”
“What? No!” I lied, knowing that she wants to stay.
“Come on, let’s go home.”
“No. Jess, come on, you want to stay with your family, so stay.” I told her.
“But you’re not enjoying it.”
“So what?” I laughed. “I’ll just go out or something. I’m fine. As long as you’re enjoying it, I’m fine.”
She smiled at me and kissed me softly on the lips.
“Thank you Kris. I love you.” She told me.
“I love you too, Princess.”

Later on in the day, everyone had left me and Elly alone again. I didn’t emerge from my room at first, knowing that as soon as I did, she’d be there. I don’t want to hurt Jess, but I do want to see Elly. I really like Elly... But it’s wrong. Badly wrong. It’s horrible I’m even thinking about doing this to Jess, but with her sister? It’s just unthinkable. But I’m still thinking about it... Why am I still thinking about it?! She hated me a week ago. She judged me before she even knew my personality. And now she was acting all in love with me? It’s wrong. She’s bad news and I know that. She’s the pathetic popular people that you get in high school who think they’re the best, but really no one likes them.
I finally pull my door open and walk out, preparing to see Elly. I slowly descend the stairs and walk into the front room, where Elly was sat watching TV.
