Amy looked around. Where was the person speaking? She sounded muffled.

Sarah: Oh... Nance.

Amy felt her heart lift. It was only Nancy.

Nancy: Amy? Why are you here?

Her voice was gone. She must have a cold or something. Amy looked at her then Sarah.

Amy: I'll just go-

Sarah: No way Amy. Sorry Nance. Come on Amz, we'll continue this in my room.

Amy picked Leah up and followed Sarah through to her room. The room was pitch black and Amy didn't walk through until Sarah had turned the lights on. She walked through and sat on the bed, placing Leah carefully on the pillows.

Sarah: Where were you?

Amy: I was going to see Calvin.

Sarah nodded whilst Amy took a breath, thought for a moment then continued...

Flashback

Amy stopped. What would she do? Calvin was going to see her any second. She tried to rush off but too late, Calvin saw her.
She looked at him.

Amy: Hiya Calvin.

She smiled sweetly.

Amy: You dont mind if I... Pop round later? Do you?

Calvin looked at her. She saw the fear in his eyes and felt a pang of guilt.

Amy:Well?

Calvin: Yeah sure. Come round.

He glanced around to see if anyone was watching. Amy did the same. When she noticed no one was there she gave a sly smile.

Amy: Make sure the house is empty.

She walked past him and brushed his body seductively. Calvin looked disgusted and as she walked away, she let the tears slip from her once beautiful eyes.

Present

Amy held Leah. Sarah didn't say a word, just looked shocked. Amy wiped away her tears and sobbed.

Amy: I understand if you hate me, but it does get worse.

Sarah: Hate you? I could never hate you! Amy, you were being blackmailed.

Amy: Do you want to hear more?

Sarah: Yes!

Amy blinked away the tears. She felt so stupid. How could she get herself in this mess? She was supposed to be a good girl! The worst thing was, when she was telling it again, it seemed a lot worse than it felt.

Sorry, Haven't updated for a few weeks. I'm going to start writing now, hopefully I'll do a few parts for tonight, just to make up for it

FLASHBACK

Amy quickly put the gun in her back pocket. She had to act normal. Ste was becoming more and more questionable by the day. He had no idea where Amy was disappearing to late at night; he felt alone. Leah stared up at her mother, confused.

Amy: I'm so sorry Leah. What have I put you through?

Leah didn't understand anything and just gurgled. Amy picked her up and gave her a kiss.

Amy: I love you Leah.

She put her in her pram and wheeled her into the lounge.

Ste: Your not going out again?

Amy: Yeah. Sorry. I'll be back soon though.

Ste: Amy, where are you going all the time?

Amy: Just... Out. Work.

Ste: What work?

Amy thought for a moment. What should she say? She didn't have anything planned.

Amy: Its just a job!

Ste: Your not drug dealing are you?

Amy gave him a look of disgust.

Amy: Steven, I am not a dirty smack 'ead that just deals drugs for money!

Ste: I didn't say you were!

Amy: Yes you did!

Ste: Arr, whatever Amy. I was just worrying about you.

Amy: Well theres no need! I'm a big girl you know!

Ste: Yeah, well, I know how easy it is to get talked into these sort of jobs.

Amy didnt want to listen to anymore. She picked up her coat and headed out of the door. She could hear Ste calling after her, but she just ignored him. She had to go now, before it was too late. She ran. Ran from the flat, down the road and into the village. As she approached the steps leading up to Calvin's house, she whirled round to check no one was watching. She sprinted up and bumped into someone as she turned the corner.

Amy: Sorry.

She looked up to see Max. Then she remembered. He lives here too. Her fake smile disappeared.

Max: Hey Amy.

She noticed that he seemed cheerful then saw Tom and Steph appearing.

Amy: Hi.. Max, Steph...Tom.

She smiled and carried on walking.

Steph: Where are you going?

Amy: To see Sasha.

Steph: I haven't seen her for a while... Have you babes?

Max looked shifty. He looked at Amy who had completely lost her confidence and lost her speach. Max looked at Steph again.

Max: Yeah. She was at the park the other day.

Amy: She's fine. I got to go. Bye.

Amy ran up to Calvins house and walked through the door; not caring who was inside.

PRESENT

Amy stopped. She knew she should continue but each time she thought about the last few months, it got hard. Now re-telling it, was worse. She took deep breaths, in and out. Sarah watched her for a moment, not knowing whether to speak or not. Amy knew she'd left a bit of a cliff hanger, so continued...

FLASHBACK

She stopped when she'd got in. She could see someone in the kitchen, A girl. She tip toed towards the stars and quickly ran up them. Then she ran into Calvins room, who was pacing up and down.

Amy: What do you not understand about an empty house?

Calvin jumped as he didn't know Amy had slipped into his room. He suddenly became tense and scared.

Calvin: I'm so sorry! It was Lauren, she didn't want to leave!

Amy: Well make her!

Calvin: I can't

Amy: Fine then. We can stay in here... All night if we have to...

She moved really close towards him and kissed his neck. Calvin didn't pull away. Amy felt horrible. She couldn't believe she was doing this. Calvin. Calvin Valentine. Worst of all, it would result to hurting her best friend. If Calvin killed Carmel, think how Michaela will be.

Calvin: Stop it. I'll get rid of her!

Calvin stormed out of the room as Amy sat on the bed. She felt like crying but knew she had to keep it together. A few minutes later Calvin came back in the room.

Calvin: She's gone.

Amy: Good.

Calvin: What do you want?

Amy: I want to know why...

Calvin stared at her confused. Amy hadn't planned what to say. She just knew what she was meant to be saying. She had to be evil... But evil wasn't her thing...

Amy: ..Why you killed Hannah Ashworth.

He looked away. He had been hoping this topic wouldn't pop up... But it had.

Calvin: I had to!

Amy: That's not an answer, Calvin!

Calvin thought for a moment.

Calvin: I regret it.. But she was controlling
Danny. Sh-she didn't deserve to live! She was killing herself anyway.

Amy felt so horrible. He killed Hannah for being controlling. He said she was killing herself. She felt tears come to her eyes as she thought about Josh and Sarah.

Amy: So you killed her!?

Calvin: I didn't mean to!

Amy: You disgust me.

Calvin: I had to! You don't understand...

Amy couldn't carry on. She didn't know what to say so she changed the topic

Amy: Right. Well I saw Carmel before.

Calvin turned and looked away. His eyes sparkled with tears. Amy felt so guilty, she was making him kill another inocent being.

Calvin: I c-can't.

Amy: Calvin! We've had this discussion! Kill
her or You go to prison and never see her again!

She stared at him. An evil look in her eyes.

Amy: You only have 24 hours Calvin. You better hurry up.

She gave him an evil smile.

Calvin: She'll be gone.

Amy: Good.

She moved even closer to him and pressed him up against the wall. She kissed him. She felt so mean, horrible, cruel. But she had to do it. She pulled away and saw the look of disgust in Calvins eyes, but soon fear took over. Amy hugged him.

Amy: (very very quietly) I'm so sorry.

Calvin thought he heard what she said, but then expected it to be his imagination. He looked away from her as she walked out of the door. Amy crept downstairs and back out of the house.


PRESENT

Sarah: How long ago was this?

Amy: Just over a month ago.

Sarah: Amy? Why didn't you tell me?

Amy: I couldn't. I shouldn't have now. But now that I've started I might as well continue.

Sarah hugged Amy. Amy had stopped crying by now, but the pain inside still hadn't gone away. She'd ruined her life, and what for? Money...

Sarah held Leah while Amy prepared to carry on. Leah was so tired, she kept rubbing her little eyes.
Amy: Is there no where we can let her sleep?

Sarah: No, Nancy gave Charlie’s cot to Frankie.

Amy: Just put her on the bed for now then.

Sarah place Leah onto the bed, surrounded by pillows to keep her still, and put a small blanket over her. Amy just watched.

Sarah: Come on Amz, what happened next?

FLASHBACK

Amy woke up the next morning. This was the day Carmel McQueen would die. She thought for a moment. Carmel had no idea this was going to happen. She was just going to start off the day like normal, and end it, before the daylight ends.
Amy got out of bed and showered. She couldn’t believe she had made such a risk. Her life, and her child’s, life in danger.
After her shower she walked into Leah’s room.

Amy: Hey sweetie. How are you today?

Leah gurgled at her. She was such a sweet baby, but she was put through so much trouble, to much trouble.

Ste: Amy? You working again tonight?

Amy: Yeah. Sorry. I’m going to take Leah round to my Dad’s for a bit. OK?

Ste: Well, Why?

Amy: Because he hasn’t seen her for a while! Why do you question what I say all the time?

Ste: Because, Amy, You seem so distracted since you got this job.

Amy: I’m fine.

Ste: And how do I know your not lying?

Amy: You can try trusting me!

She stormed out of the room and ran into the bathroom; the tears streaming down her face. Ste banged on the door, but Amy ignored him. He was so worried about her, but she didn’t care. She’d put herself in too much trouble to care about anything. All she cared about was the life of Carmel McQueen.

Ste: Amy, Leah’s ready to go if you want. I’ve changed her and packed nappies… Please Amy, let me in.

Amy stood up. He’d done all that just for her. She unlocked the door and practically collapsed into his arms; tears flooding out of her eyes. Ste didn’t have a clue what to do. He just hugged her. She pulled away and walked into her room.

Ste: Amy, are you alright?

Amy: I’m fine… Just work. Stress.

Ste: Where do you work?

Amy racked her brains. Where could she say she worked???

Amy: I’m someone’s personal assistant.

Ste: Really!? Is that why we’re getting decent money now?

Amy: Yeah…

Ste: Cool. Babe, listen, if you ever feel like stopping, you can. You know that?

Amy: Since when did you care?

Ste: Ya what?

Amy: Don’t act like you’ve always cared about me Ste, because you’d just be lying to yourself.

Amy went through and got Leah. She had to take her to her Dad’s. She had to get her away.

Once she’d dropped Leah off, she walked back through the village, heading for Max’s to ask how Sasha is and tell him about Calvin. It was almost time to check whether Carmel was… Gone.
She wandered up the steps to go to Max’s. As she got to the top step she looked behind her and saw Carmel walking along the road with Mercedes. She looked in pain but wasn’t dead. Amy sighed with relief but knew she had to make sure Calvin did it. She walked towards his front door. It was locked. She then looked under the mat and, luckily, found a key. She let herself inside, and peered out the curtains, waiting for Calvin to come home.
