She took a deep breath and answered.
"Jess?" Kris said
"Yeah?" she struggled to say, as she was trying to hold back her tears. He shouldn't know that she was crying. He shouldn't hear her self-ptiy herself again.
"I think we need to talk. There's a lot to say." he said slowly and warmly
"You made your point very clear before. Please, leave it at that. I don't want to..." she said
"Before? When? What are you on?" he asked in confusion.
"Oh, don't act like you don't know. It's fine. I get it. I'm out of your life forever. Okay? Happy now? I'll go home..." she tried to sound fierce, but it didn't really work. Her sobs kept getting the better of her
"For ****sake Jess, listen! I don't know what the f*** you're talking about!" he shouted. He was starting to lose his temper.
"Bye Kris..." she whispered and hang up...
