She peeled the photo off the wall and held it gingerly, stroking the people’s faces slowly, a tear forming in her eye. She turned it over and saw the date. It seemed years ago now. She peeled all the blue tac off of the corners and sat down on her bed, rolling the bluetac into a ball, between her fore finger and her thumb. She turned the photo around and saw herself staring back. She realised how much she had changed since then. She had grown up now and everyone else seemed to have noticed, except the one person she needed to notice.
She got off the bed and went down stairs. The house was empty - just how she liked it. She turned on the radio and began to tidy up. She didn’t know why it was down to her again, but it was so she began to tidy. The things she found half the time - it shocked her to think the others even bought things like that. She began to feel hungry but was watching her waistline and was determined to not snack in between meals. Once she had finished down stairs, she slouched out on the sofa and closed her eyes, stretching her arms out at the same time.
As she rested, she felt her phone buzz in her back pocket. She always kept her phone on silent; she didn’t want too many questions asked. This time however, it wouldn’t have mattered seeing as she was alone. She reached for her phone out her pocket and looked at the caller. Suddenly her face looked disgusted and she pressed `ignore`. She wasn’t ready to talk to him yet - not after what had happened earlier.
