The next day, Nancy and her daughter arrived back at the flat where Jake, Sarah and John Paul were waiting for them with a party. She sat on the sofa, holding her sleeping daughter as Becca sat next to her; she looked at her as she smiled warmly.

"Did you invite him?" Nancy asked.

"Yeah but he's working; he's gonna pop over when it's not busy..."

"Fine...i need to go to the bathroom..."

She handed her daughter to her mom before going into the bathroom; when she came out, she hugged Sarah and John Paul before taking her daughter back off her mom as Jake and Becca stood at the side of her.

"She's just like her mom..." Jake said.

"Thanks..."

"I'd better get back to work; i'll come back later...if that's okay with you two...?"

"Okay..." they both replied.

Jake kissed Becca and Nancy's forehead before leaving them to it.

Later that night, Sarah and John Paul had left, Margaret and Charles had been and gone and Jake had phoned to say he couldnt make it as he had to work. Nancy had put her daughter down in the cot and covered her up after giving her a feed before she picked up the baby monitor and went into the living area where she sat with Becca on the sofa, snuggled upto each other.

"I'm sorry Nance..."

"What for?"

"I know you were expecting him to come"

"He can do what he wants, i dont care anymore...we're over"

"He really didnt want to hurt you..."

"Well he did..." she snapped back before going into the bedroom and dozing off until her daughter awake a while later; she gently lifted her up and carried her into the kitchen where Becca was doing her a bottle. She handed it to her before they sat on the sofa and looked at each other while her daughter drank happily from the bottle.

"I'm sorry for snapping..."

"It's okay..."

"It's not; just cos me and Jay have split up, doesnt mean i can take it out on you..."

"He was trying to do what was best for you...would you rather he lied to you and then you hate him because of it?"

"But now i'm left going through this on my own..."

"You are never alone; me and Jake and mom and dad are here to help you...and Sarah and John Paul too..."

"Who's gonna wanna go out with me now?"

"You will find someone who is gonna love you for you and your daughter, no matter what"

"I hope so..."

"They will...how about we talk about this in the morning?"

"How are things between you and Jake?"

"They're okay; we're not getting into anything too serious yet..."

"Because of me?"

"You are my number one priority..."

"I like him; he's great with giving me advice and he loves you..."

"You reckon?"

"I do; why dont you ask him to move in?"

"That's a bit serious isnt it?!"

"Course i do, i havent stopped..."

"So why dont you ask him? YOu've got nothing to lose..."

"I guess; i think we should get to bed..."

Becca kissed her daughter and granddaughter before they went into their own rooms and settled down before the sound of crying awoken them hours later.

The next morning, Nancy dragged herself out of bed when her daughter cried for the hundreth time; in the kitchen area, Becca had got a bottle ready and was sorting out breakfast. Nancy sat and fed her daughter while Becca served the breakfast and put it on the table; Nancy gently placed her daughter in the carry seat in front of her on the table before eating her breakfast as she looked at Becca.

"Thanks for this..."

"I figured you could do with a proper breakfast; have you thought of a name yet?"

"No; I tried thinking of one but everything i think of doesnt go with Hayton. You got any ideas?"

"Charlie?"

"Charlie Hayton...i dunno"

"Nikki?"

"Nikki Hayton...it sounds...kinda alright..."

"I think it's perfect..."

"Thanks mom"

"That's okay; why dont we clear this up, get ourselves ready, bath and get Nikki ready adn go for a walk?"

"I'd like that..."

After they had finished their breakfast, they cleared up and got themselves ready before Becca helped Nancy get her daughter bathed and changed before getting a bag ready while Nancy put her daughter in the pram and covered her up. They left the flat and walked towards The Dog where Jake was waiting for them outside; he kissed Becca before putting his arm around her as he looked at Nikki in the pram.

"How you feeling Nance?" he asked her as they walked back through the village.

"Tired but i'll be fine..."

"You decided on a name for her?"

"Yeah we did; mom chose it...Nikki..."

"Nikki Hayton; it sounds perfect..."

"Yeah it does; i'm gonna go and see Sarah in Washed Up, talk to him mom, i'm fine with it"

"I will; we'll be in Il Gnosh..."

"Okay..."

As Jake and Becca went into Il Gnosh, Nancy went into Washed Up where Sarah was astanding behind the counter; she walked round and looked at her friends daughter in the pram before looking up at Nancy as she held her daughter in her arms as they sat down.

"We called her Nikki..."

"It's perfect; how are you feeling?"

"Exhausted; she was awake all night..."

"I've got some presents in the back for you and Nikki..."

"Thanks...how are things back in college?"

"The same; it's quiet without you. Jacqui keeps asking after you..."

"I know, i am gonna go and see her when i can but it's not at the top of the list at the minute..."

"I know; how you coping with Justin?"

"I dunno; i'm hurt and angry but i guess i cant really blame him, can i?!"

"You could at least talk to him; he came in earlier asking after you"

"What did he say?"

"He was asking if you and the baby were okay?"

"I havent spoke to him since he left me at the hospital..."

"He is sorry; he thought that he could handle with been a parent and he knows that he could but he's scared that he'll get close to her and lose her or you...he's scared of the commitment..."

"I'll talk to him...mom and Jake are in Il Gnosh anyway..."

"Fancy some company?"

"You're working"

"I'll be fine for an hour..."

"Thanks..."

"Do you wanna leave the pram in here?"

"Thanks, can you grab the bag?"

As Sarah picked up the bag from the handle and locked up, Nancy carried her daughter into Il Gnosh where Justin looked up at her as they walked to each other at the side of the counter.

"Hi..." he said, quietly and hesitantly.

"Hi..."

"I'm sorry for been an idiot..."

"Why didnt you tell me?"

"You had enough to deal with..."

"I was scared of the committment too but i thought that if we stuck together, we'd be fine; me, you and Nikki"

"You called her Nikki?"

"Yeah, mom chose it this morning;i miss you Jay and i just want us to get back together. It doesnt have to be anything heavy but we could give it another try"

"So do i"

"Really?"

"Yeah, i was a fool to think i could just run away; i made a promise and you and Nikki need me"

"So can we try again? For Nikki's sake as much as anything; she needs a dad"

"Yeah; can i hold her?"

Nancy gently placed Nikki in his arms as they walked back over to Becca, Jake and Sarah.

"We're gonna try again, for Nikki this time..."

"That's good" Becca said.

"And he's gonna move back in with us..."

"Okay; actually, Jake's gonna too..."

"He said yes?!"

"Yeah he did; if you are still okay with it?"

"Course i am mom..." she hugged her mom before hugging Jake and snuggling upto Justin again.

"Mom, will just get the pram off Sarah while we go and get Jay's stuff and show his mom Nikki?"

"Course, i'll see you back at the flat..."

"Thanks, bye Jake..."

"I'll be Washed Up" Sarah said to Becca before leaving with her friend.

"You sure about me moving in if you've got Justin as well?" Jake asked as he took Becca's hand.

"I want you there more than anything; Nancy really likes you and you've really helped her the last few months..."

"Okay well maybe we should hold off until after Christmas? Then we can sort everything out..."

"Okay...as long as i get to see you everyday..."

"You will; sometimes more than once..."

"Good; i never loved anyone else after you...i used to walk around the village hoping i would bump into you so i could tell you the truth..."

"I'm glad i came back and decided to stay; i had a couple of girlfriends after you but nothing ever compared to us..."

"I know; we just have to make the most of our relationship this time round, dont we?"

"Yeah; if we stick together, we can survive anything..."

"I love you..."

"You too..."

He leant in and kissed her lovingly before they got the pram of Sarah adn headed back to the flat.

The days went by and it was now Christmas Eve night, Nancy and Becca were sat on the sofa talking while Justin seen to Nikki; Becca put her arm around her daughter as they looked at each other.

"How you coping?"

"Okay; i'm glad i made things up with Justin though..."

"He's a great dad; he's just scared...like the rest of us..."

"I know; i guess when i asked him if he was gonna be there for both of us, i didnt realise how much he would be taking on..."

"Well he seems to be okay now; are you okay with mom coming tomorrow?"

"I have to be; if only for Nikki and dad's sakes...they dont deserve it..."

"Nikki's too young to realise anything and dad understands if we just want it to be the three of us...me, you and Nikki?"

"Really?"

"Yeah; i know alot has changed in the last 9 months but things can only get better now and if you want tomorrow to be about me and you then it can be..."

"What about Jake?"

"He's coming round tomorrow night so we can have some time together while you and Justin do to..."

"I'd like it...if it was just the two of us..."

"That's fine; we can have the turkey tomorrow night when Justin and Jake are here too..."

"Thanks...i'm gonna see if Jay needs a hand..."

Becca smiled as Nancy got up adn went into the bedroom where Justin had just finished changing Nikki and was sitting on the bed, holding her in his arms; he looked up at Nancy and smiled as she sat next to him and held their daughter.

"You're a natural with her..." she told him.

"Not really; i've just had a lot of experience. Are you okay with me spending tomorrow with my mom?"

"Yeah; i'm gonna spend it with mine; just the three of us and then we're gonna make a big dinner when you and Jake get here..."

"Cant wait; how about we get your mom to look after Nikki and we go for a walk?"

"Actually i was gonna grab an early night; Nikki's completely tired me out...do you mind?"

"Course not; you go to sleep and i'll sort Nikki out and feed her and put her back to bed..."

"Thanks Jay...i love you..."

"You too...more than ever..."

He kissed her lightly before lifting Nikki out of her arms and carrying her out of the room as Nancy got changed and slowly fell asleep with the duvet over her.

Christmas in the Hayton flat wasnt much different except for the extra presents and a screaming baby; Nikki had woke everyone early but the minute they all got up, she fell back to sleep! Nancy looked over at Justin as he kissed her and handed her a small gift; thye sat up as she took it off him.

"I thought we were doing presents tonight?"

"We are; this is just a little something..."

She smiled at him as she opened the present to find a framed photo of him and Nikki together; she looked up and kissed him passionately before she looked over at Nikki sleeping and turned back to him.

"It's beautiful, thank you..."

"Glad you like it; i'd better get ready and get over to mine. My sister will be up already, waiting for me to get there so she can open all her presents..."

"Okay..."

He kissed her again before he got ready and kissed Nikki before leaving; she got up and left the room where Becca was sat on the sofa with a drink. She went to the bathroom before getting herself a drink and sitting next to her mom; she looked up at her as they drank their drinks.

"How did you sleep?"

"Better; Nikki was a bit restless..."

"You'll get her into a routine eventually..."

"I know; what did dad say?"

"He's okay with it; he said we can spend the day with him tomorrow...if you want?"

"I'd like that but what about nan?"

"She's not gonna be there; we can still go and see her if you want?"

"I dunno if i'm ready to play happy families with her yet..."

"Give it time; i take it Jay's gone to his moms?"

"Yeah; his sister's waiting for him to get there so she can open her presents"

"Awww"

They were interrupted y Nikkie crying again; Nancy put her cup down before going into the bedroom and picking her daughter. She carried her into the living area and got a bottle ready before sitting on the sofa and feeding her as she looked up at Becca.

"She looks just like you Nance..."

"Thanks..."

"How are things between you and Jay?"

"Better than before; now we've told each other how we were really feeling. I know i can trust him with Nikki when i'm ready to leave her for a few hours..."

"Yeah and i'll babysit anytime..."

"I know; are you going back to work at the start of term?"

"I have to; i wish i didnt but i do. You'll be okay with Nikki, wont you?"

"Hopefully; i'll have to be. She's only a week old so i'm not gonna be ready to leave her yet; how's Jake?"

"He's okay; we're better than ever..."

"Good, do you love him?"

"Yeah...i do; been back with him...i cant imagine my life without him again..."

"True love?"

"Yeah..."

"I'm happy for you mom; i'm gonna change Nikki..."

"Okay"

As Nancy put the bottle on the table and went into the bedroom, Becca picked up her phone which was vibrating, indicating she had a message:

'WISH I WZ THERE WIV U. LUV U. CNT WAIT 2 C U 2NITE. HUGS & XXX, J...'

She smiled as she replied:

'ME 2 LUV U LOADZ. HUG & XXX, B...'

She put he rphone back on the table as Nancy came back out and sat back next to her after putting her daughter in the carry seat.

"Do you want your presents?"

"Not right now; doesnt feel right without Jay...i'm gonna wait until he gets back this afternoon..."

"Okay; i'll keep an eye on Nikki if you wanna go back to bed for a bit?"

"You sure?"

"Course, besides i wanna spend time with my granddaughter and open her present off me..."

"Okay, thanks..."

She hugged her mom before kissing her daughter and going back into the bedroom, shutting the door before she lay back down.

That afternoon, Justin adn Jake arrived back at the flat and they sat and ate before they sat on the sofa whle Nikki was sleeping.

"I missed you today" Jake said to Becca as he wrapped his arm around her her.

"Me too" She replied.

"Nance, i wanna give you something in private..." Justin said. They got up and went into the bedroom where tehy sat on the bed.

"What is it?"

"I love you and i wish i hadnt have ran off like i did last week cos i know i hurt you"

"It's forgotten about"

"I wanna spend the rest of my life with you adn Nikki; will you marry me?"

He pulled out a box and opened it as she looked at the ring in his hand in shock. In the living area, Becca also sat in shock.

"What did you just say?"

"Marry me?"

Both mother and daughter looked at their partners as they held a ring in their hands; Becca looked up as Nancy opened the bedroom door and saw Jake also holding an engagement ring.

"Well...?" Justin and Jake said as their partners looked back at them.

"I dont know what to say..." Becca started.

"It's too soon isnt it?" Jake ended.

"I'm just in shock...that's all..."

"Do you want time to think about it?"

"Do you mind?"

"Course not..."

"Nance..." Justin asked.

"We've only just got back together...isnt it too soon?"

"I dont think so; will you at least think about it?"

"Okay..."

"You wanna go for a walk Nance?" Becca asked as Nancy turned back to her.

"What about Nikki...?"

"We'll look after her" Justin said as he and Jake both put the rings in their partners hands before watching as they picked up their keys and jackets and leaving; they put them on before putting the rings in their pockets with their keys as they walked.

"That was a bit awkward..." Becca said.

"Just a little..."

"I didnt know what to say to him..."

"Do you love him?"

"Yeah i do..."

"Wanna spend the rest of your life with him?"

"I guess..."

"Want a proper stable family life for me?"

"Course i do..."

"Then say yes..."

"You sure? It just seems too soon?"

"It's not; you've known each other for longer than 17 years...and he came back for you and understood everything even though you dumped him...I think he deserves a yes..."

"So do i; what are you gonna say to Justin?"

"I'm too young to get married mom; i've just given birth and i'm only 16...i dont know if i'm ready to be a wife as well..."

"He wants to go the right thing by you, that's all..."

"I dont wanna hurt him but i just dont feel ready for all that yet; i have to ceoncentrate on my daughter and college and getting my life in order..."

"So tell him that and ask him to wait a couple of months; if he really loves you, he'll understand"

"I know..." she replied quietly as they walked back towards the flat.

As they entered the flat, Jake was in the kitchen washing up while Justin was in the bedroom putting Nikki down; Nancy walked over to him and sat on the bed with him as they looked at each other.

"I've thought about it..."

"And?"

"My answers no...i'm sorry..."

"Oh"

"It's just...i'm only 17 Jay and i have a one week old daughter and my college course is stuffed up and so's my life...i need to concentrate on getting that back together for Nikki..."

"Right"

"And we've just got back together after you left me; do you have any idea how much that hurt?"

"Yeah i do; i'm sorry..."

"I love you Jay but i cant marry you...not just yet"

She took the ring box out of her pocket and gave it back to him before leaving the room and going to the bathroom. Justin got up and grabbed his jacket before leaving the flat and heading home for the night, hurt and embarrassed; when Nancy realised he had left, she stayed in her room and kept an eye on her daughter.

In the kitchen, Becca stood and dried the plates and stuff up as Jake turned to look at her.

"Do you really love me?" she asked.

"Never stopped; i wanna do what's right by you and Nancy but if you think it's too soon, i'll wait"

"I dont..."

"Dont what?"

"Think it's too soon"

"You mean?"

"Yeah...i wanna do it; i want us to get married"

He smiled as she gave him the ring box before he dried his hands and slipped the ring on her finger before they kissed lovingly; she pulled away and smiled as she wrapped her arms around his waist.

"I'd better go and check on Nancy?"

"Okay..."

He kissed her again before she went into Nancy's room where she was lying on the bed, crying silently; she wiped away her tears as she sat up and hugged Beca tightly.

"It'll be okay; just give him some time..."

"I hurt him mom; i dont think he understands why i said no..."

"He will; get some sleep and we'll talk about it in the morning"

She kissed her daughter before leaving the room as Nancy slowly dozed off; in the living area, Becca was sat snuggled upto Jake when Justin came back.

"Justin...can i have a word?" Becca asked as Jake went into the bathroom; he sat next to her as she sat up. "Nancy's sorry but she just doesnt think the timing's right"

"I just wanna do the right thing by her and Nikkie..."

"I know you do and so does she but her life is all over the place at the moment and having Nikki to care for, she's scared she cant do a good job of it. She's not saying no to hurt you; she's trying to stop herself from getting hurt and she's scared that you dont understand"

"I do; i just have to wait and prove to her i'm serious and i'm not gonna hurt her again"

"That'll help; she's asleep so be quiet when you go in"

Justin nodded before going in the room and covering Nancy with the duvet before getting changed and lying next to her, putting his arm around her.

When Nancy awoke a while later to see to a crying Nikki, she found Justin at the end of the bed, already beating her to it; she got a bottle from the kitchen before giving it to him as she sat back next to him on the bed as he fed their daughter and looked up at Nancy.

"When did you get back?"

"About 15 minutes after i left; i did talk to your mom though..."

"Yeah, she made me see things from your point of view..."

"And?"

"I understand what you're saying; i just wish things were different, that's all"

"So do i but when it was just us, it didnt matter but now i have Nikki to take care of, i have to put her first"

"I know; i will wait as long as it takes and i'll do whatever you want..."

"Right now, i just want you here with us..."

"I am; whenever you or Nikki need me, i'll be there..."

"She should be our number one priority, not our relationship..."

"Okay; why dont you go back to sleep? I'll finish feeding Nikki"

She smiled a little at him as he leant forward and kissed her forehead before she slowly dozed back off; after Nikki was sleeping as well, Justin put her back in the cot and covered her up before settling back next to Nancy and dozing off.

The next day, Becca awoke and saw Jake smiling at her as she watched her; she took his hand and interwined their fingers together before he leant forward and kissed her.

"Thank you..." she said.

"What for?"

"Giving me the best christmas and night ever..."

"I'm glad you enjoyed it; i guess i have to re-introduce you and Nancy to the family again now..."

"Well I guess so; now they have a granddaughter and a great granddaughter..."

"And i have to tell them i'm moving out..."

"I cant wait til i get to have you every day and night..."

"Me neither..."

"So what are you doing me for breakfast then?!"

"I thought you were doing breakfast?!"

"No, i dont dinner last ngiht...you are doing breakfast..."

"Okay; i'll see what i can rustle up..."

"Jake..."

"Yeah..."

"You too..." he replied before kissing her and putting his clothes on and leaving the room; Becca got changed and noticed nancy coming out of her room. She did them both a drink before she put them on the table and put her arm around ehr daughter as they sat on the sofa.

"How you feeling?"

"Crap; Nikki was awake all night...and you two"

"Oh...sorry" Becca said, going bright red with embarrassment.

"Dont be; you were happy, that's enough. But next time you two want smoe time alone...just say; i'll go to Justin's..."

"Okay..."

"What did you say to Jay last night?"

"I just explained what you said to me and he understood..."

"I know; we talked when Nikki woke us up last night...i still feel really bad though..."

"You dont need to; he's fine and he's still here isnt he?"

"Yeah..."

"Do you want any breakfast Nancy?" Jake asked.

"No thanks Jake..." she looked back at her mom "Did you say yes then?"

"Yeah..."

"Good, i'm happy for you mom; let's see the ring"

Later that day, Jake and Justin had popped back home, Becca was tidying up and Nancy was sat on the sofa holding Nikki when the door went; Becca answered it and Nancy looked up as Sarah and John Paul walked in with a couple of bags of presents. They put them down before hugging Nancy as she looked up at them and smiled.

"What are you guys doing here?"

"Came to see you...and Nikki..." Sarah replied.

"And we've got present for you guys too..." John Paul added.

"But i havent got you guys anything..."

"That's okay...most of them are from what we got for you last week but we just didnt get round to giving them to you; can i hold her?" Sarah replied.

Nancy gently placed Nikki in Sarah's arms before watching with a smile across her face.

"Where's Justin?" John Paul asked.

"Went to see his mom and sister again"

"Are things okay between you two now?"

"Pretty much...except...he asked me to marry him and i said no..."

"What?" Sarah asked, shocked as she looked back up at her.

"I'm not ready for marriage yet; i have Nikki to take care of. Everything revolves around her; she's my number one priority just like i'm my mom's"

"How did he take it?"

"Not too bad; he was a bit upset but then he understood that we should be concentrating on Nikki..."

"Yeah; how are you coping with Nikki?" John Paul asked.

"It's not easy when i'm up all night but she's worth it; she's the one good thing to come out of what happened"

"Yeah she is; she's so beautiful Nance...she looks just like you"

"Thanks guys..."

"Anyway..." Sarah handed Nikki to John Paul before picking up the one bag of presents "These are your presents and the ones in the other bag are Nikki's..."

"Thanks guys...are you sticking around for a bit?"

"We can if you want us to?"

"I'd like that...i want Jay here when i open Nikki's, if that's okay?"

"Course it is..."

"Thanks...i wont be a minute..."

She got up and went over to the kitchen area where Becca was just tidying up the dinner stuff and getting ready for dinner that night.

"You okay Nance?"

"Yeah; Sarah and John Paul are sticking around for a bit if you wanna go and meet Jake?"

"You sure?"

"Yeah; go surprise him"

"I might do that; besides i've gotta see his family again eventually havent i?"

"Yeah; i'll come and meet you guys later and introduce Nikki i guess..."

"Okay...i'll see you later then"

"Yeah, have fun"

"I will; dont over do it?"

"I wont; bye mom..."

"Bye Nance..."

She hugged her daughter before picking up her bag and jacket and leaving as Nancy sat back on the sofa and opened her presents. Meanwhile, Becca stopped as she stood outside The Dog and sighed; she entered and saw Jake serving at the end of the bar. When he saw her walking up to him, he smiled; as she got to the bar, he kissed her lovingly before holding her hand.

"I wasnt expeting to see you here?"

"Well Sarah and John Paul are with Nanccy so she suggested i come and surprise you..."

"I'm glad you did" he smiled as he leant back in for a kiss.

"Jake, there's customers that want serv-" Frankie stopped mid-sentence as she noticed Jake in the middle of a kiss.

"I'll be right back" he whispered to Becca before disappearing to the other side of the bar; she watched him serve before he came back and took her hand again.

"I take it that was your mom?"

"Yeah, she doesnt quite know i have a gilfr-...sorry, fiancee yet..."

"Sounds wierd dont it?"

"A little but in a good way; i'm due a break now so how about i take you upstairs and introduce you to my stepdad, brother and sister?"

"I'd like that but Nancy's coming along in abit with Nikki so if you wanna wait til then?"

"We'd be better off introducing you now; give them a wehile to get their heads around it before they find out about Nancy and Nikki..."

"Jake are you doing any work?" Frankie asked as she walked upto him

"Yes mom; i'm having my break..."

"It'll have to wait; i need help?"

"What about Jack or Darren?"

"They're busy..."

"Go on, i'll be waiting for you; but you could get me an orange juice...?" Becca said.

"Coming right up"

He kissed her before giving her an orange juice and carried on serving; when it had finally died down, he was able to take his break. He grabbed his jacket before taking Becca's hand as he led her out to the patio area where they sat on a bench, holding hands and staring at each other.

"Is it always like that in there?"

"Depends on the time; it can be busier at times but quieter at others. Forget about that, i'm glad you came"

"Me too...even if i was sat watching you for most of it!"

"I know"

"Do you still want to introduce me or do you wanna leave it til another time?"

"No, i want to...come on"

He held her hand as they went back into the pub and went upstairs where Jack was sat upto the dining table doing the accounts while Darren was nowhere to be seen.

"Jack, you got a minute?"

"What is it son?" he asked as he looked up at him.

"This is my fiancee, Becca..."

"Nice to meet you" he said as he kissed her hand.

"You too..."

"Jack, there's smoething else but i dunno how mom's gonna react?"

"Go on..."

"Well..." Jake started.

"I have a 17 year old daughter and a week od granddaughter" Becca finished.

"Wow..."

"It's not her fault; she didnt purposly get pregnant at 16 but it wasnt an accident either..."

"I was raped...and when it was in the news about that 16 year old been raped in the village 9 months ago...it was my daughter..."

"Right..."

"How do we tell mom? I dont want her been judgemental"

"Be honest with her son, she'll understand eventually..."

"The thing is, Nancy and her daughter are coming round in a bit..."

"Do you want me to tell her and you just introduce your daughter and granddaughter?"

"Thanks Jack" Becca said.

Becca snuggled against Jake as he kissed her forehead, both nervous about how Frankie would take the news.

Becca and Jake followed Jack downstairs where it had quietened down a lot; Frankie had just finished serving a customer when Jack went over and told her while Becca and Jake sat on a stool at the end of the bar, holding hands. They looked at each other as Frankie walked over and stood in front of them; both nervous of what she was gonna say.

"Mom...this is Becca, my fiancee..."

"Nice to see you again..."

"You too..."

"Has Jack told you?" Jake asked.

"Yes he has although i dont know why you didnt tell me yourself?"

"Because you dont always see the positive side of something..."

"Well as long as you are happy love"

"I am; happier than i've ever been"

"Well then good luck..."

"Thanks mom..."

"Thanks Frankie..."

Becca's phone interrupted them; it was a text from Nancy saying she was outside The Dog.

"I'll be back in a minute" Becca said before giving Jake her bag and going outside where Nancy was sat on a bench watching as Nikki slept in the pram; Becca sat next to her as Nancy looked up at her.

"You okay?" Becca asked her.

"Yeah; do they know?"

"Yeah, we thought it was better to get everything out in the open and start with no secrets..."

"Okay..."

"Are you ready to do this? We dont have to; i can go and tell Jake and we can go home?"

"I dunno; i know i have to get this over with but..."

"Tell you what, how about we go home and if they wanna meet you and Nikki, they can come round the flat later?"

"Thanks mom..."

"I wont be a minute"

Nancy turned back to her daughter as Becca went back in the pub and sat back next to Jake.

"Where's Nancy?" Jake asked.

"Outside; she's a bit hesitant about it so we're gonna head back. Tell your mom and Jack they can come round later if they want?"

"Okay..."

"You gonna come back?"

"I've gotta finish work so i might come round tonight with mom and Jack?"

"Okay; love you"

"You too..."

She leant in and kissed him before grabbing her bag and leaving; her and Nancy made their way back to the flat where Justin was just making sure the flat was tidy. Becca sorted Nikki out while Nancy sat next to Justin on the sofa where she realised they still hadnt opened the presents for Nikki off John Paul and Sarah. They slowly opened them, one by one to find teddies, clothes and accessories; while Justin went to get them a takeaway, Nancy went into the bedroom where Becca was sat holding Nikki.

"Mom..."

"Yeah?" she answered, still looking at her granddaughter.

"Will you help me bath her? John Paul and Sarah have brought her some new babygro's..."

"Okay..."

She carried her into the bathroom where she helped Nancy to bath her before getting her changed into a new baby pink babygro with 'i'm a mommy's girl' written on it; while Becca tidied the bathroom, Nancy got a bottle ready and sat on the sofa, feeding her until the door disturbed them.

"Will you get that Nance?" Becca called from the bedroom.

Nancy put the bottle down and held her daughter as she opened the door.

"Hi Jake..."

"Hiya Nance..."

She let Jake, Frankie and Jack in before shutting the door and finishing feeding her daughter as Becca came out of the bedroom and kissed Jake as she noticed Jack and Frankie sat on the sofa; Nancy walked over and stood in her mom's arms as they looked at them.

"Mom, Jack this is Nancy..."

"Hi..." Nancy said, awkwardly.

"Hi" Frankie and Jack said at the same time.

"And this...this is my daughter...Nikki..." Nancy announced nervously.

"She beautiful love" Jack said, Frankie just sat there.

"Thanks Jack..." Nancy said.

"Mom?" Jake asked.

"Sorry love; she's gorgeous Nancy..."

"Thanks" she said, reluctantly.

There was an awkward silence between them.

"Can i get anyone a drink?" Jake asked.

"I'll have a tea thanks son" Jack said.

"No, i've gotta get back to the pub..." Frankie announced..."

"Mom?"

"Sorry love, i'll see you later"

She got up and left as Jake done Jack's drink and handed it to him before sitting next to Becca on the sofa, who had her arms wrapped around Nancy as Nikki slept in her arms.

"I'm sorry about my mom Nance"

"It's fine..."

"You got everything you need Nancy?" Jack asked.

"Yeah thanks...Jake's been great..."

"He always was a good one"

As they sat talking, Nancy adn Becca looked down at Nikki before Justin came back.
