"But i have to start doing this on my own and if i cant get my qualifications then i'll have to get a job, even if it means getting child care for Nikki"

"I have an idea..."

"What's that then?"

"When i'm not teaching, i could work from here and look after Nikki while you are at college and when i am, either Jake or Justin or dad will look after her or you could if you fancy a day off..."

"What about Mrs Webster?"

"Like i said, i'll sort it..."

"Thanks mom..."

"Now, you gonna come and something to eat while Nikki is sleeping?"

"I'll be right out..."

Becca kissed ehr daughters forehead before leaving the room as Nancy walked over and looked down at her daughter sleeping happily without a care in the world.

The next day, Becca was in the same seat as the previous day; in front of Mrs Webster.

"I have a proposition"

"I'm listening"

"I really want Nancy to have her career as much as she does; if i was to do all my free periods at home, i could look after Nikki while she comes in and we will arrive childcare for when i cant"

"So you want me to agree to you doing your marking and stuff from home instead of here?"

"Yeah; i know it's a big ask but been a eteacher is what Nancy really wants..."

"Okay; we'll try it out for a month, if it works then fine, if it doesnt then you have to figure something else out"

"Thank you..."

Becca got up and left the office and headed back to the flat where Nancy was sat on the sofa holding Nikki as she fed her; she looked up as Becca sat next to her and took her granddaughter of her.

"You'd better get ready"

"She agreed?!"

"Yeah; well, for a month's trial anyway. Go on, she'll be fine and I'll drop her off at Justin's later before i head back and i'll walk with you dinner time to come and see her"

"Thanks mom"

She hugged her mom before getting herself ready; she kissed her daughter before leaving. At dinnertime, she met Becca at her classroom befor ethey headed over to Justin's where he was sat holding her as she slept in his arms; she sat next next to him and held her as Becca helped Liz do a couple of drinks in the kitchen.

"Thanks for looking after her Jay" Nancy said as she looked up at him.

"It's fine; anything to help you get your career. I know i stuffed up mine but i want you to follow your dreams..."

"Thank you..."

The weeks went by adn the routine was working perfectly; it was now the first day of the summer holidays and Nancy was determined to make the most of the time with her daughter before the new school year started. She got up early and got changed before picking up her daughter and taking her into the kitchen; she got a bottle ready before walking around as she fed Nikki.

When Becca awoke a few minutes later, she heard Nancy talking to her daughter; she stood behind the open bedroom door as she listened to Nancy.

"I cant believe you are nearly a year old already; i know i havent been around lately but i'm gonna spend every day for the next six weeks with you...and your nanny"

"Morning" Becca beamed as she came out of the room.

"Morning" Nancy replied as she followed Becca into the kitchen. "Were you listening to me behind the door?"

"No, i just heard you talking..."

"Right; i was thinking of taking her to the seaside for a few days"

"Where?"

"Blackpool; she'll love it and i've got some money in the account and i just...wanna get away..."

"Okay; do you want me and Jake to come with you?"

"I'd like that..."

"Okay, well; go and get a bag together and i'll let Jake know..."

"Thanks mom..."

As Nancy went into the bedroom, Jake came out and wrapped his arms around Becca's waist as he kissed her.

"Let me know what?"

"We're going to Blackpool for a few days; fancy it?"

"Erm...love to..."

"I love you..."

"You too...you'd better get a shower and then go and get some stuff from yours..."

"Okay"

He kissed her again before going into the bathroom; Becca smiled happily before going into the bedroom to get changed and packed.

That night, they had drove down and settled into a B&B for the night; the next day, they got ready before settling Nikki in the baby strap across Nancy's chest before going for a walk along the beach.

@This how you wawnted it Nance?" Becca asked as they walked, her holding Jake's hand while Nancy held Justin's.

"Yeah; thanks for coming..."

"That's okay, you need a break and i could too..."

"Me and Jay are gonna go and have a look round town; we'll phone you when we're ready to meet for lunch"

"Okay then"

After Nancy and Justin had walked off, Becca turned back to Jake and took hold of both his hands as they stared at each other.

"Jake...i think i'm pregnant..."

"What?!"

"I dunno for sure but i was gonna do a test yesterday but then Nancy ws there and now we're away...i brought it with me though..."

"Okay, let's go and find out for sure and if you are, we can celebrate..."

"If i am, i dont want anyone but Nancy and Justin knowing until we know our bab6y is healthy..."

"Okay..."

He held her hand tightly as they headed back to the room at the B&B; she did the test before sitting on the bed and waiting. After 3 minutes, they looked down at it, nervous but excited.

"It's positive..."

"We are gonna be just fine" Jake said, reasurring her as he wrapped his arm around her until Becca's phone disturbed them; they met Nancy at a cafe where they sat and had something to eat.

"Nance...there's something i've gotta tell you becuase it affects you as much as anyone else..."

"You're pregnant again?!"

"How did you know?"

"Physic powers..." she laughed "No, i saw the test in the bag this morning when i was getting a changed of clothes. I'm happy for you mom..."

"Thanks Nance...but we're gonna keep it a secret for a while; at least unitl we've gone the doctors..."

"Okay..."

As they carried on talking and eating, Becca looked over at Jake and smiled as he took her hand.

The week went by and they headed back to the village; while Nancy and Justin went round to his, Becca and Jake went back to the flat where she sat on the flat in front of the washine machine sorting out a load. Jake sat next to her as she looked at a babygro of Nikki's and sighed.

"You are not gonna have another miscarriage; we're gonna have a beautiful baby..."

"Cant help worrying about it though..."

"I know but last time, it wasnt anybody's fault; nothing is gonna happen"

"What if i do Jake...? Can we get past it again?"

"Course we can; first thing tomorrow (monday) morning, we're gonna get an appointment at the doctors and get it confirmed..."

"Okay..."

"I know you're scared but you have to relax; if Nancy can get over it, then so can you...yeah?"

"I guess"

"Go on, go and sit on the sofa and i'll bring you a drink over..."

"I've gotta get this on..."

"It can wait for a bit; go on.."

As Becca reluctantly went and sat on the sofa, Jake sent a text to Nancy before doing her a drink.

A couple of hours later, Nancy arrived back with Nikki; she settled her in the cot before holding the baby monitor as she sat next to Becca. She looked up at her as Nancy smiled warmly at her before se started crying; Nancy put the baby monitor down beofre hugging her mom tightly.

"It's okay mom...I'm here now..."

"I'm the one that's supposed to be looking after you, not the other way round" Becca said as she wiped away her tears and looked at Nancy.

"It's nothing; you scared about having another miscarriage?"

"Yeah..."

"You wont if you relax; i know we've just gone away but if you take it easy, especially at work, you're gonna be fine..."

"How do you know for sure?"

"Because you have me and Jake looking after you and if i can accept what's happened to me, you can too...you got over it when it happened, you can get over it again...face your fears mom..."

The weeks went by and at Becca's 23 week scan, Nancy gripped her hand as they looked at the screen.

"Is my baby okay?"

"It's fine; would you like to know if it's a bioy or a girl?"

"No thanks..."

As the midwife handed the sonogram to her, Becca wiped the gel away from her stomach before her and Nancy left; they sat in Il Gnosh with an orange juice each.

"See your baby is fine; nothing is gonna happen to him or her"

"I know, i'm sorry for been moody lately and stuffing up the routine with Nikki..."

"Dont worry about it...but i do need to get back to college..."

"Go on, i'll pick her up from Justin's..."

"Thanks..."

As Nancy left, Becca finished her drink before going to The Dog where Jake was clearing up th glasses on the benches outside; he took her hand as they sat on a bench looking at each other.

"How did it go?"

"OKay; he or she is healthy anyway..."

"And what about you?"

"I'm okay; what time you getting off?"

"Not for a couple of hours, why?"

"I could just do with company...it doent matter..."

"It's okay; just give me 5 minutes..."

"Okay..."

He kissed her before disappearing inside the the empty glasses.
