Kris has just returned from the summer however Jess doesn't know he is in the flat.

Jess's Pov...

I walked through halls untill I finally reached the flat after a long and tiring day of lectures. I pushed open the door and flung my bag onto the kitchen table. I ran some cold water into a glass and found some paracetamol in the cupbord. I pulled out the chair from under the kitchen table and sat on it.

"Tough day?" Zoe asked from the sofa looking over at me.
"Well lets just say I had way to much to drink last night and those lectures today didn't help my recovery." I laughed before swallowing the pills with my water.
"Your not looking to fresh..." Zoe said laughing.
"I don't even care, there isn't anyone around who I want to impress." I said rubbing my aching head.
"I wouldn't quite say that." Zoe said smiling.
"What?" I asked slightly confused.

Zoe got off the sofa and ran up to me. She was beaming and looked extreemly excited.

"He is back.." Zoe said excitedly but quietly as if she didn't want anyone to hear.
"Who is back,Zo what are you talking about?" I asked still confused.
"Who do you think? Kris, Kris is back!" Zoe said sill whispering but excited.
"Zoe, he said he wasn't coming back for another 3 weeks, he can't be back." I protested.
"He is. Typical Kris, always getting the wrong dates." Zoe said speeking at a normal volume now.
"Oh my gosh, I can't wait to see him!" I screamed as I got up quickly forgetting about my sore headache.

I ran towards his room, stopping at the mirror in the hall to fix my hair and make myself look a little more presentable. I quickly made my way to his door. I stopped and thought to myself. I was about to see the man who I spend most of my days trying to impress for the first time in two months. I looked at Zoe who was quickly catching up to me.

"Jess,I have to tell you something about Kris. Before you go in there." Zoe said grabbing my arm.
"Zoe, tell me after. It can't possibly be anything important." I said dissmissing her.

I opened Kris's door. I didn't think to knock, I never used to. I looked at Kris who was kissing a blonde haired girl. My heart sank, I was no longer excited to see Kris.

"Jess..." Kris said breaking away and looking up to me.
"Hi Kris," I said as tears built up in my eyes.

I wasn't going to let him know my heart was breaking. I just turned around and left his room. Feeling empty and heart broken. I thought he loved me, all those e-mails and text messages whilst he was away telling me that he missed me. It was all a lie. Well I tell you something, it was the last lie I was ever going to belive from Kris Fisher.

Zoe's pov....

Her name is Lauren, Lauren Dates. That was the girl Kris had spent two months with in the summer. That was the girl who had replaced Jess. The thing is none of us saw it coming at all, especailly Jess. I think she had always thought that when Kris returned they would start a relationship.

"Morning all.." Kris said to Jess and I as he entered the kitchen and sat down at the breakfast bar.
"Morning." I smiled.
"Not speaking Princess?" Kris asked Jess.

I saw her bite her lip with anger. I could see the tears and sadness in her blue eyes which seemed duller than ever today.

"Don't you ever call me that again." Jess snapped before storming off to her room.
"Whats her problem?" Kris asked laughing.
"I wonder! Its not funny Kris." I snapped.
"Is this about Lauren?" Kris asked, the penny finally dropped.
"Duhh..." I said hitting him lightly on the arm.
"Look Zoe. Lauren is everything Jess isn't and I'm glad. Who would want a stroppy cow like that as their girlfriend. Not me..." Kris said as he continued to eat his toast without a care in the world.
"You have changed Kris Fisher. Fix yourself." I said getting up.

I walked down the hall to my room. I passed Lauren, her long blonde hair hit my face as she bumped into me.

"Oi!" She shouted.
"Sorry..." I apologised.
"Kris, this stupid girl just bumped into me." Lauren moaned.
"Zoe, be carefull. She's fragile!" Kris snapped before he kissed Lauren pasionatly.

Jess walked out of her room to see them. Tears running down her cheeks.

"Jess, can we talk?" Kris asked her breaking away from Lauren who was still clinging to his waist.
"Leave it just now honney, we need to go shopping. Keep Lauren happy darling." Lauren said kissing his cheek.
"Ok, when I get back. I promise Jess, we need to talk." Kris said to her.

Lauren ran off to the living room happily. Jess walked over towards Kris and stood infront of him.

"Am I not good enough for you?" She snapped quietly.
"Jess, look. I thought we were over, I mean nothing really happened. We can talk about this when I get back." Kris said smiling at her.
"Don't try and fix something thats impossible to mend." She said tears rolling down her cheeks.
"I wasn't going to." Kris said heartlessly.

Jess burst into tears as Kris walked away. I quickly ran over to her and hugged her tightly. Her sobs made me begin to cry, how could Kris be so horrible.

"He doesn't mean it Jess." I whispered in her ear.
"He does Zo, I give up." She cryed.
"Not yet, I will fight for your relationship." I said.

I knew they were ment to be together in the first week of college. They had that amazing chemistry which is rare to see in any relationship. Even when I was with Will, I wished for their chemisty and their relationship. Even if they weren't fully together. It was just a known fact around HCC. Kris and Jess were ment for each other, everyone knew it,well maybe excpet for them.

Jess's pov...

She was beautiful,Much prettier than me. She had long blonde hair that was shiny and soft. She had much prettier blue eyes than me. No wonder Kris wanted to be with her. Zoe said we were ment to be together, I don't belive that. How could we be when he is a lier and a complete and utter idiot.

"Jess,want to talk now?" I herd Kris's voice ask as he knocked on my door and entered.
"Well let me think about it, no..." I said as I carried on reading my magazine.
"Look Jess, I want us to be friends I really do. I mean we work good as friends don't we ?" Kris said to me.

He just wanted to be friends, how was I ment to let that happen. I love him. But I guess he doesn't love me.

"All those txt's and e-mails Kris saying you loved me and missed me. Were they all lies?" I asked him angrily.
"No I do love you Jess, I always have." He said sittin onto my bed and looking deep into my eyes.
"Then why? Why did you bring Lauren back?" I asked quietly incase she was listening outside.
"Because, you can't tell anyone this. Do you promise me?" Kris asked me taking both my hands.
"I promise." I said smiling.
"Its an arranged marrage. Lauren is a family friend, I don't particularly like her but our familys want to come together." He said to me.
"Kris, you can't marry someone you don't love." I said to him, stating the obvious.
"I have to Jess, but I wish it was you. I really do." He said to me kissing my cheek.
"Well I guess everyone is wrong then." I said sadly.
"What?" Kris asked slightly confused.
"You and I, were not ment to be together." I said with tears in my eyes.
"You don't know that princess." He said with his face only millimeters away from my face.
"Kris your engaged.." I laughed.
"But not to the girl I love.." He said as he kissed me gently on the lips.

Zoe's Pov...

I woke up realising that I didn't have long to get ready for my day ahead. Back to back lectures. I really could not be bothered. I quickly got up and put on some clothes. I slid out my bedroom realising it was only 7.30 and everyone was likly to be asleep. I quickly ran to the bathroom and brushed my teeth and put on some make-up. I exited the bathroom and made my way to the kitchen.

"Kris!" I said jumping as I saw a scruffy Kris come out of Jess's bedroom.
"What?" He asked shocked at my reaction.
"What were you doing in there?" I asked.

He was half dressed, his make-up was smudged and he deffinatly didn't look as if he had just woken up from a long sleep.

"You slept with Jess didn't you!" I snapped quietly so no one would hear.
"Don't be ridiculus Zoe..." He spat as he barged past me.
"Then what were you doing in her room?" I quized him.
"I had a row with Lauren and needed a place to sleep." He said staring at the floor.

He was lying I knew it. Whenever Kris lied he always looked at the floor and never made eye contact.

"Whats wrong with the couch?" I asked smirking, trying to catch him out.
"Its lumpy." He moaned.
"And Jess's floor wich is scattered with clothes is better is it?" I asked, I could see him begin to crack. He was biting his lip now.
"I wasn't on her floor!" He shouted.
"Oh, so you were in her bed?" I laughed and then added,"Hush up unless you want everyone to wake up and hear you!"
"I was just sleeping..." Kris said running his hands through his hair.
"Yeh I know, with Jess." I laughed.
"Oh Zoe shut up!" He yelled.

Lauren opened Kris's bedroom door and peeped out of it. She was wearing a very revealing night gown. I looked away immediatly.

"Nice night out with your friend?" Lauren asked smiling at Kris.
"Yeh it was alright." Kris replied kissing her on the cheek.
"More like a night in though." I said smirking.
"Oh really did you stay in with urm.. nathan? Watch a couple of films? Make a night of it?" She asked beaming at him.
"More than you know.." I said giggling.
"Shut up Zoe..." Kris spat.
"What is she talking about Kris?" Lauren asked confused.
"Nothing beautiful." Kris said.

Jess walked out of her room with messy hair and a dressing gown on. She still had the remainders of last nights make-up on and looked a mess. She looked at Kris and Lauren who were hugging.

"Hi Jess..." I said smiling.
"Hey," She said sweetly before walking up the hall.
"Oh, I forgot to ask you. What did you get up to last night?" I asked her, trying to make things awkward for Kris.
"Just stayed in with my mate." She lied.
"Oh wich one?" I asked smirking.
"Nathan.." Jess said.

Lauren turned to Kris and looked confused.

"She was there too?" Lauren asked.
"For a while, but came home earlier. She's so boring." Kris laughed before grabbing Laurens hand and leading her into his room.

I turned to Jess. Who looked guilty and upset. She put on her fake smile and hugged me tightly. She smelt just like Kris.

"I saw him sneek out your room Jess." I said smiling at her cheekily.

Kris's Pov...

I sat in the dog with Lauren. She was beaming at me as she flicked through a wedding magazine.

"I like this dress, what do you think Kris?" Lauren asked as she took my hands.
"Its nice." I mumbled.

To be honest I couldn't really care what she wanted to wear. She wasn't even slightly attractive.

"Nice? Your ment to say something a bit nicer than nice!"She said laughing.
"Its amazing and you will look beautiful in that dress lauren."I said playing up to her.

Jess walked into the dog and sat down at a table with Zoe. They looked over and stared at me. I stuck tounge out at them and turned back to face Lauren.

Jess's pov...

"What is he playing at?" Zoe asked me angrily.

"Who are you texting?" Zoe asked looking over my shoulder.
"Nobody." I lied laughing.
"Look there's Zac and Elliot." Zoe said waving them over.
"Alright guys?" Zac said sitting down on the couch opposite us.
"Yes,fine. Excuse me but I need to just powder my nose." I said as I stood up and made my way through the doors that led to the men and womens toilets.

I stood outside the toliets waiting for him. The smell was discusting,it made me feel sick. Kris came through the doors and smiled at me.

"What is it?" Kris asked me.
"I missed you..." I said kissing him passionatly.
"Look.Jess even though I don't love Lauren, I'm still with her and I don't want to cheat on her." He said to me.
"Well,if your not going through with the wedding then why do you need to be with her?" I asked slightly confused.
"Wait, who said I wasn't going through with the wedding?" Kris asked.
"Well I just thought,because you slept with me that you wanted me not her." I said sadly.
"I do. But I can't upset my family. They have only just accepted me Jessica." He said hugging me.
"Oh,ok." I said with tears coming to my eyes.
"Better get back to Lauren." He said smiling at me.
"Yes you better." I said sarcastically but before I knew it, he was gone.

Kris's Pov...

The past few weeks have been a blur. My mother decided that we would have the wedding in hollyoaks. I don't know why. I was scared, I couldn't get married, what was I thinking? Firstly it was to Lauren, the girl next door who I had grown up with and had absolutly no feelings for. Don't get me wrong, she is a great friend but im pretty sure I don't want to spend the rest of my life with her.
And secondly because of the most important person in my life, Jess. Poor Jess, she has been lying around in her grubby clothes for the past 2 weeks looking sad and unhealthy.

"Baby, your family will be here soon and we still haven't tidied up." Lauren said running up to me in the kitchen and flinging her arms around me.
"I'll get the hoover." I said trying to get away from her firm grip.

I walked to the cupbord and pulled out the pink hoover which Jess had chosen when our old one packed in. Obvcorse her and Zoe loved it, they said it made hoovering glamourous. It made me laugh everytime I saw it.

"I love this hoover." Lauren said as she took it out my hands and plugged it in.
"Jess and I got it when our old one broke." I said smiling at the hoover stupidly.
"Oh really? Well you could go get her, maybe she could help clean up her clothes which she has left lying all over the place." Lauren shouted over the noise the hoover was making.
"She's not really talking to me at the moment, you know that." I shouted back.
"I guess you could do it on your own then." She said gesturing for me to clean up the clothes.

I got a plastic bag and picked up all of Jess's clothes from around the living room. I picked up the bag and carried it to the outside of Jess's room. I knocked on the door and waited for a reply.

"Come in..." She shouted.

I opened the door and entered. I saw her sitting at her dresser putting on her make up. She was wearing a black shorts,a white blouse and a black waistcoat. She looked amazing.

"What do you want?" She snapped when she saw me in the refelction of her mirror.
"I picked up all your dirty close you left lying around, my family are coming up for the wedding." I said putting the plastic bag in the corner of her room.
"Thanks." She said not even giving me a small smile.
"Jess, I want you to be there for me." I said walking closer towards her.
"Where you there for me in the summer? When I was having all my money problems?" She asked pulling her hair back into a ponytail.
"No but..."
"Exactly. So give me one reason why I should be there for you?" She snapped getting up from her seat.
"Becuase I'm getting married in two days and I would like to have my best friend their to susport me." I said smiling at her.
"You really expect me to show up at your wedding, all smiles and pretending like im not dying on the inside?" She said with tears in her eyes.
"Jess, I.."
"Save it Kris, I'll be there." She said wiping her tears away.

I walked over to her and hugged her tightly. She hugged me back which was suprising.

"Thankyou." I whispered in her ear.
"Kris...." Lauren shouted.
"Yep, I'm in here." I replied breaking away from Jess.

Lauren opened Jess's door and smiled at us.

"Your family is here." She said grabbing my hand and leading me out of the house.
"Common Jess, I want you to meet them." I said taking her hand with my other.

We all walked out of her room to a room full of my family all looking excited and happy.

"Kris!" My mum shouted running up and hugging me tightly
"Alright my boy?" My dad said slapping my on the shoulder.

They all greated Lauren with hugs and kisses. I glanced over to Jess who looked increasingly uncomfortable.

"Mum, this is Jess.." I said to my mother.
"This is Jess?" She asked smiling at her.
"Hello, its nice to meet you." Jess said shaking her hand.
"She is even more beautiful than you said."
"You've herd of me?" Jess asked confused.
"Oh yes, Kris always talks about you in the holidays. I was dying to meet you."

I pulled Jess over to the kitchen where no-one else was. I was embarrised, my family always embarrised me.

"I'm sorry, look don't pay any attention to my mum." I said.
"She is lovely." Jess said smiling.
"About what she said..."
"That you talk about me all the time?" Jess asked.
"Yeh well thats not true, she's just herd your name thats all..." I lied.
"Oh ok, I'm sure." Jess said with a cheeky grin.
