Amy slowly made her way down the steps to Drive 'N' Buy. She used to be able to race down them but now heavily pregnant she could barely manage.

"Finally" she thought as she reached the shop doorway.

"Hi Neville" she beamed as Neville waved her inside.


MEANWHILE.......

back at the flat Josh nervously began to talk to Mike.

"I...er..I"

"Spit it out Josh" Mike said.

"I want to marry Amy" he blurted out

"OK"

"and I would like your permission before I ask her" Josh finished.

"Josh I've seen how happy you have made my daughter and how good you are with Leah. I'm sure you'll be a great son-in-law.


BACK AT DRIVE'N'BUY.....

Amy was busy browsing through the magazines when she felt a searing pain in her stomach.
Screaming in pain, she fell to the floor just as Neville reached her.


BACK AT THE FLAT.......

Just as Josh was boiling the kettle, the phone rang,

"Hello" Josh answered.

"Son, you need to come down to the shop quickly," Neville replied, "Its Amy".

Josh dropped the phone to the ground. Without a second's notice he bolted out of the front door.

"Josh? What's going on?" Mike shouted as he followed him out of the door.

Josh practically flew down the steps and into the shop where paramedics were tending to Amy.

"What's going on?" He cried, "Somebody please tell me.

One of the paramedics turned to face him as Amy was stretchered out of the shop:

"Mr. Ashworth, Amy has gone into premature labour and the pressure of the labour on her heart has caused her to have a seizure. We have to get her to the hospital now; both her and your baby are in danger."

Sirens rang in his head as Josh frantically paced up and down the hospital corridor. The image of Amy lying on the shop floor was inprinted in his mind.

"Mr. Ashworth?"

A doctor approached him wearing surgery scrubs:

"You can see Amy now; she is out of surgery We managed to deliver the baby safely by c-section."

"Are they OK?" Josh asked, his whole body trembling with fear.

"See for yourself."

Nervously Josh made his way towards the hospital room.
He opened the door to find Amy cradling a tiny baby in her arms.

"Don't just stand there, come and meet your son." Amy said as she beckoned him towards the bed.

Slowly she handed the little boy to Josh, who had began to well up.
Together they sat on the bed and gazed into the eyes of their beautiful son.

A few days later Amy was allowed to leave hospital with baby Adam and it couldn't have come a moment soon.
Amy excitedly packed up her bag and waited for Josh to come and collect them.
A few hours later a knock came at the door of Amy's room.

"Hello?" Josh said as he entered the room with Leah in his arms.

"Hi!" Amy exclaimed as she saw them standing in the doorway.

"You ready to go?" He asked.

"Yeah, all packed, just got to get Adam up."

"Great, the taxi's just outside"

Fifteen minutes later, they were almost home.

"Cheers, mate" Josh said as he paid the taxi driver.

They slowly made their way up to the flat, blissfully happy, unaware someone was watching them.

He crept slowly up the steps towards her flat, careful not to makea sound as he neared the door.
It had been almost 2 years since he'd last seen her but nothing had changed. He still loved her and wanted toapologize for the pain he'd put her through. He just had to get rid of Josh first.
