Hi. I agree with many of the points already suggested, so I've tried keep most of my ideas original. Sorry for the length of this, I got carried away!
Instead of vote to evict or vote to save, have lines open for both simultaneously. Every vote to evict takes 1 point away from the HMs total, every vote to save adds 1 point. The HM with the lowest amount of points is evicted. I think BB Australia already do something like this. This would be a sure fire way of getting rid of the dull Housemates.
Don't let the housemates hear the crowd when Davina or whoever is announcing evictions. Go back to the BB1-4 style and announce it from the studio. Its pointless for the HMs to have no contact with the outside world, if their popularity is going to be revealed by the crowd cheering or booing or chanting "Get X out!". Hearing the crowd cheer or boo them has ruined the potential entertainment value of many HMs.
Also, stop the crowd booing for no reason. I don't mind an obnoxious HM getting booed, but nowadays booing seems to be the rule rather than the exception. Take BB:CH's Jade, for example. I especially hate the crowd booing a housemate before they've even entered the house, after just seeing the VT, just because the HM is a pretty girl. Perhaps it would be better if the first night of BB had no crowd, or if they didn't see the VTs until they were in the house? I'd like booing to be such an infrequent event, that a HM really knows they've behaved badly if they hear it.
I'm sick of HMs like Nicky BB8, who in the Auditions, proclaim to be the life and soul of the party, but actually are as boring as can be when they're inside the house. Yet, they're so boring that they end up actually staying a long while over more popular characters, just because nobody cares enough to vote for them to be evicted. To counteract this, at about week 4, put up the housemates who are the least like the character they presented themself as during the auditions. This would discourage HMs from lying in their Auditions in future BBs. After all, if a housemate hasn't shown their personality in the first month, when will they?
Similarly, any housemate who has got to the half way mark without being up for eviction, should automatically face the public vote. As I said above, boring people stay, simply because the outrageous characters are easy pickings. This would stop those people who coast to the final, just because they're flying under the radar.
To make the housemates actually compete in endurance tasks like BB8's Sleep and Sardine task, put the people who last the shortest time up for that week's eviction, and make the people who last the longest immune from it. In other words, make winning the task actually mean something. If they fail the task and have to live on basic rations, don't supplement them by giving them free takeaways, parties or booze. In recent BBs, most HMs haven't cared whether they pass or not, as they were guaranteed food anyway, treating the experience as a holiday.
Similarly, don't reward HMs for failing a task. In BBCH, Anthony was able to put up a HM for eviction as a result of losing the SAS task. Somewhat inevitably, the task winner also gave him immunity out of sympathy. That is no punishment whatsoever, and some could even say it's a reward. It would have been a far better punishment if Anthony was put up for eviction himself, and was not allowed to be awarded the immunity.
In many recent BBs, a minority of people have wanted to continue the task, but the majority haven't. If that's the case, reward the minority and punish the majority. Even if the housemates collectively fail a task, give a small prize to the HM/s that worked the hardest (such as a cooked meal in the diary room). The idea should be to make life so uncomfortable for the HMs if they lose a task, that they realise it is in their best interest to try their hardest to win next time.
Also, make some of the tasks last a week long, like the Keeping the Fire Alight task in BB2. Recently, all tasks seem to be over in a couple of days, if that.
Show the nominations live, and give each HM 1 minute per nomination. If they fail to nominate in that time, they are up for eviction. Bring back the tradition of HMs staying in the seating area as the nominations happen, to give the event more gravitas.
Bring Russell Brand back whatever the cost!
Finally, strictly enforce the rules. BB needs its authority back and should punish people on the spot. For example, in tonight's face to face nominations, Big Brother told the HMs not to explain their reasons. Moments later, Anthony said something like, "I'm going to explain my reasons anyway, whether they like it or not." and proceeded to do so. At that moment, Big Brother should have immediately punished Anthony there and then for breaking the rules which BB had just announced, but they just let this slide, rendering the rules meaningless.
