The whole basis of obsession over who is special or not revolves around neuroses surfacing in the form of reaction formations, that they don't have to listen to the people who prove them wrong and criticise them because in fact it is they who are ignorant. They want to relieve this anxiety by imagining they are powerful and since they cannot be the centre of the universe they pretend to be the centre of an intellectual universe.
Some morals have a solid logical basis. How special is that? These alternative ideas are a threat to their amoral superstitions because it prevents them from pretending that they are the only people who "stick it to the man" in society and thus when they act immaturely and dishonestly they are not weak willed but "fighting the powah".
If the atheist church and other demagogues had the humility to admit they needed help, after therapy, they would tell you that the real reason that they think censorship, paranoia, bigotry, narrow mindedness and cultism was justified in their case was because they were claiming to fight those very things. Humans are flawed and there is no realistic way to eliminate all these flaws, idealists who claim science will solve all the problems in the world are naive and unlikely to have any realistic answers themselves. The only thing people can do is admit they are flawed, distinguish criticism from insults as something positive even if it makes them feel bad (why do so few parents teach kids this?) and instead of developping a neuroses to ignore life's problems use the negative feelings as an incentive to actual do something about them.
The thoughts of anyone with 2 brain cells to rub together and no axe to grind.
If a man is unwilling to think about what is near at hand, he will obsess over the flaws of others in the distance.
Hey ZW, do you ever read over what you're just about to post? If you did, you'd have chance not only to fix the numerous typos and grammatical errors, but also to maybe, hum, you know, er, say something that means anything?
