worst of all - the backers are heavily invested in city academies.

If it ever gets off the ground (which I doubt) I would predict it will have a short lived boom then die on its @ss.

To me this just exposes a terrible insecurity within some Christian groups and they end up making themselves look silly.

Oh, I hope it goes ahead, I really do.

It will give us atheists a real focus.

you should have seen picture that went with the print version. wide eyed fans gazing adoringly and humbly into the eyes of a waxwork beardy bloke in robes.

Peter Jones, one of the trustees sounds like a really informed chap. According to him all young people do is binge drink. Like most religious nutters he's probably had 'a sign from god' to create this theme park.

Well Wigan gave it the bird and it's difficult to see how any council that has budgetry responsibility for education could justify giving the go ahead to such a monument for anti-knowledge.

On the other hand Peter Vardy (probably the main backer) has already got away with financing creationist oriented schools elsewhere in the country.

If they were to divide the theme into 7 sections ie the 7 days - the first six sections will be pitch black since god didn't create light until the 7th. This could be quite a cheap theme park to design & build.

There are lots of absurdities in the two accounts of creation but unfortunately this is not right.
There was light on the first day Gen 1:9 although no source of light (the sun) until the 5th day gen 1:14.

Also Gen 1:16 "And God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also."

Clearly the lesser light is the moon, this only reflects the sun's light, so God only made one light but is claiming credit for 2.

You could also add that as the sun is just a star that happens to be closer "he made the stars also " is a third mistake in a single verse.
