Most of the bombers were born in the UK but yet becaz they contributed to the bombs....they are classed as Pakistani or of Jamaican descent.
Now Denise Lewis and all the Black sports personalities are all of Caribbean or African descent but when they do something for this country they are British...Now if Lennox Lewis or Denise Lewis was to go on a terrorist hunt..then they quickly transform from British to Jamaican..
That's not a racial slur. When the IRA were bombing London in the 70s and 80s people were suspicious of anyone with an Irish accent. Stop me if I'm wrong but aren't most Irish people white?
In a society that places so much emphasis on race (either positively or negatively) it's not surprising that people refer to someone's ethnicity to characterise them.
my mum and dad have had to put up with comments because of their irish accents. when my dad was working up london doing the biuildings night work he was stop and his van searched because he had an irish accent.
i have had silly comments made because i have irish parents and irish sir name.
