People,

Does anyone know what, in the name of... (forget about it...), happened with the other topic I started: "Avoid this thread" ?

Came in here today and couldn't find it anywhere. Very strange...

I feel a little vulnerable right now... that was everything I had in this world Smile

Now I must cry a little in order to put myself back together... Frown

You know...
This is me...

I was the last post to it, roman. I think I must have posted something the mods objected to, and they deleted the thread.

I am sorry.

But dry your eyes, my friend. We can rebuild it. We have the technology.

I have a huge bowl of microwave popcorn which I have adulterated with an amateur mixture of heated butter and sugar to make it taste like the stuff you get at the cinema. My doctor would go ballistic but it is Friday. I would gladly share my popcorn with you all - have a cyberhandful! Big Grin

Ryan, was your last post the one about your neighbour difficulties, or did you post something after that? I ask because I replied to your post with a suggestion that might conceivably have led to the thread's deletion.

It's very nice to see you all here!

But, I have to ask...

What could you possibly have written to get the thread deleted?

I'm a bit scared... Wink

Anyway...

Speaking in a purely hypothetical sense, it is possible that I might have suggested that the answer to Ryan's neighbour problem lay in retaining the services of a professional cleaner, in the Jean Reno sense of the word.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Big Grin

I can only imagine what kind of neighbor ryan has...

Anyway,
I believe these mods' reaction was a bit too rash, wasn't it? Why not just censor the words or expressions they find offensive? Why delete the whole thread??? Specially when it's obvious the thread was completely harmless. Except for its peculiarity of gathering intelligent thinking people with sharp opinions to share... We all know how dangerous this kindof thing can be, right?

Can't lie to y'all, this s...t really ground me down, but I believe that, with your help and support, with your heartfelt commitment and enduring strong will, we can rebuild our weird piece of thread.

You know, I understand I can be overreacting and all, but I guess it's hard to have a shred of your own spirit suddenly taken from you. Yes, it's a confession: that was... this is... a dear portion of my meandering mind, a deep part of my soul. You all are. And that's why I miss it so damn much!

Well, enough of moaning and whining and complaining...
I'm fine! I just had to let you know that before any other strange thing happens...

I'll be here, no matter what.

See you.

I just spend a wonderful evening in Cannon Hill Park (Birmingham) - listening to the CBSO. Classical music always sounds better outdoors with a picnic and a glass of wine ...... Smile

ROman? You're such a hippy and I love ya for it! *hugs* Smile

Moonstone - your's is the luck! I will share a secret now. When I was a little boy of about 11 in Doncaster, I was deeply and hopelessly in love with a very talented little girl of the same age. She knew I was enchanted and was always very kind and would help me with my music. Our paths diverged at age 14-1/2 and I never saw her again until recently when I woke up on the sofa and the Leeds Piano Comp was on the telly. I saw her on the stage and knew her immediately. I looked up the orchestra on the internet. She had been lead Violin in the CBSO under Sir Simon Rattle and now she is leader of the Hallé. I had always remembered her fondly and could not have wished for greater success for her.

My friend is going to make a porn tape show. She's going to carry a tape recorder around and tape conversations between our friends. In everyday language, we always say things that could be put in a sexual context. E.g. speaking of a wrapped-up birthday present, "you can feel it when we get home" and phrases like "i'm wet" "go from behind" "it's big" and sounds like "oooh" etc. It's surprising how many of these phrases there are when you listen out for them. And so she's going to edit the tape and make it into a porn tape show.

Popcorn is great when you make it at home because you get to hear the "popping" and see the tiny corns open up. Does microwave popcorn do the same?

You still hear it but instead of corn popping you watch a thin flat bag swell into a huge great big one as the kernels expand - the trick is to wait for the popping to stop and get it out just before it starts to burn.

Oh God! How sweet is that story! AAAAwwwwwwww, dave, bless yer!

On a side note - I used to play the violin at school but then gave it up because, no matter how slim you are, it gives you a double chin - how stupid and vain is that!?!?! I now play guitar - it's easier plus it hides a multitude of sins Big Grin

SAFETY NOTICE -

When popping pop corn in a sauce pan on the stove (for those of you who haven't moved onto the new fangled microwavable stuff - or even those fancy dan pop corn machines - which seriously, are a total waste of money) WAIT for AT LEAST one minute after you THINK the final corn has popped. I've lifted the lid before now and almost had my eye missiled by a stray piece of corn mid pop!

END OF SAFETY NOTICE .....

Fatdave, Moonstone,

Music is always something special and listening to it with devotion and total commitment of soul can be the best experience we may ever have. For me it's overwhelming!

To be able to create anything so fascinating and utterly beautiful is really the one thing I wish I could have the skills to do. I deeply treasure this gift of making music and playing it with your heart... and by that, touching others'.

Glad your child love has grown into a wonderfully gifted person, Fatdave...

Delighted to hear you're one of them, Moonstone. Smile

love

Tired and happy! Spent last night clattering around my drum kit in a little pub with the covers band I'm in. We're nothing special but we have a whale of a time making a right old noise and there's nothing better than seeing smiling faces dancing around and having fun. Anyhow, my bandmates/friends have just tottered off home after everyone came back to my place and we've sat up all night talking and listening to music and laughing. In short, the kind of night to cherish.

Poo-tee-weet?

Those are the best kind of days, Husker. Nothing planned and organised will ever be as much fun as letting things flow, keeping it organic.

I always wondered why you kept such strange hours - it makes more sense now Smile
