I guess like everybody on the net I get bombarded by SPAM, much of it these days sexually and even graphically explicit.
Beyond my initial wondering about who Mrs Sampan had been speaking too, I am know utterly fed up with the stuff. The thing however that really boils my blood is that this stuff is surely being seen by millions of kids.
Now correct me if I am wrong, but is not using the Internet to send kids sexually explicit images and content a defined form of Pedophile activity, so why is not far more being done to track down the perveert spammers and putting them out of business permenantly?

Try "spam fighter", it is free to download and use. Use it as well as the spam filters your service provider gives you . Obviously also never open the stuff or you'll get loads more.
Another thing to do is set up an alternative e-mail address. If you do any online shopping, book holidays, fill in online forms, pay bills online etc. always use the alternative e-mail address. Keep the other one for friends / work only.
I have several yahoo and hotmail accounts for that reason. I find that one will get full of the randomly named people trying to contact me to give me millions of dollars or little blue pills etc, another will remain relatively empty. Strange. I also had to pay for a TV license for my parents (they didn't have a TV but were embarrassed by the letters coming in which had final demand printed on the front) and used a yahoo account. Soon after the thing was flooded with spam. That was the only site out of the ordinary I visited.

all you have to do is inform tv licensing by email or letter that you either have a tv [that is detuned and not plugged into the ariel but will only be using it for dvds etc or that you don't have a tv. If you don't inform them and stop paying they view that as evasion [even though it is not].
even then tv licensing do not inform the nightclub bouncer types who come to your door. After about 4 months after i sent emails saying i would no longer pay the license but keep the tv for dvds two burly blokes arrived at the door. They asked my name then asked if i 'had a tv'. When i said yes their eyes lit up like kids and the demanded i show it to them. When the bloke came in his beaming smiles vapourised as first he saw there was no ariel, second it was detuned and third i had printed out all the emails to tv licensing saying what i was doing and their acknowledgement. They both left dejected.
