The documentary (C4 Thurs 17 April 9pm) goes behind the scenes to explore the intriguing reasons as to why the suspects may have behaved in the way that they did.
What a pity that channel 4 did not consider the feelings of Meredith's family before deciding to air this programme, must have been very painful to see tv makers use the murder of their beloved daughter to fill a tv slot.
I gave it 10-15 mins, to see if this docu was going to give some insight, that maybe they had done some investigative journalism, they had'nt. I turned it off at the point where the commentator stated that "by now the suspected killers had become world wide celebrities" When did that happen?
The person that decided to air this rubbish should be fired.

Yeah, there was no input at all from Meredith's parents.
As this was the first documentary on this atrocious crime, I would expect nothing more than as unbiased view of the facts. What I got was confusing information, an unjustified attack on Italian police and a total lack of respect for the victim of this crime.
Good media work is all about questioning. This program did question the police work. What is sometimes forgotten is that police, in this country and most other places, is usually on the right side and we need to be careful when questioning their work, because supporting the police means supporting the victims. Investigating a crime is always hard but this program just stated the police investigation was not good enough and presented us with a ludicrous (in a quite disturbing way) theory explaining this crime as an unfortunate accident. What the program forgot to question was the suspects’ versions of the events that, at least as shown in the program, challenge any idea of common sense.
By the end of this program, I had not learnt anything new, the investigation was questioned but no one in the program had the courage to defend the release of the suspects, no plausible alternative theory was added and the crime scene was sometimes needlessly shown in a voyeuristic way. The program was definitely more concerned with the police work than the crime itself and that is just disturbing.
