Remember that this is a TV programme and has to be entertaining, there have been many documentaries made to give a range of views on the issues but this thankfully was different. I think it was nice to see the story told from 2 sides.

i totally agree
nice to have both sides of the story.

I dont think any Mulsim whos knows his deen will get a job with the MI5. I mean i Muslim in yesterdays episode lied dying.....your ment to encourage the person to take the last testement. Not get info out of him. The muslims that are working for the Mi5...well lets just say Islamicaly many issues will arise.

Sounds highly plausible to me - female, Irish. Remember the Birmingham Four ? etc etc A ham sandwich is quite mild really in the scheme of things and Naseema saw it that way too Smile

On the drama - WOW !!! Very powerful, thoroughly enjoyable and put some very important issues right there in all of our faces.

It is not just a tv programme..it is (unfortunately) very realistic with what is going on is this current day and age! The scene at the end when she is doing her pre-suicide video is just encouraging people to go and do the same thing.

I worked with a team of 2nd gen Muslim researchers. They accessed various sources. For the training camp scs, we mostly used public domain sources.

I absolutley loved this programme I thought it handled delicate issues very well with amazing acting from all participants. I was shocked at the ending but agree with it as it would have ruined the realism to have a happy ending. Very moving relationship between brother and sister and I really loved Sohails character. There is nothing wrong with being patriotic, these days it cna feel like your being non PC to express a love for your country...

As a white British girl I was impressed that the programme helped me understand and in parts agree with the Muslim extremist situation but I still favoured Sohail.

Excellent and through provoking programme.

Yes the oppressive laws, the death of a friend, the injustices of the world can make someone hate, can make someone kill , but to actually to prepared to kill yourself in the process requires religion, it requires faith something that Naseema didnt seem to have?

Unless you are saying that suicide bombers are not neccessarily religious?

I don't think she did have that faith, not as much as some, as she said she wasn't doing it for the matyrdom in the afterlife, it had just turned her so bitter that she would do anything, even end her own life to fight against it

Hi Peter

Do you think a British-Muslim would be more confident walking down the street tomorrow after this drama or less, as they may be even more paranoid about what non-muslims percpeption of them they have within their minds.

Hi Peter

Interesting movie. Just wondering when you will be producing a movie about british born israeli's who choose to fight for the zionist Israeli state instead of serving for Britain?

What a compelling drama! This has given me a great deal of food for thought and has radically changed my perceptions of Muslims in Britain today. I was already feeling totally alien within my home culture - there is such a widespread lack of morals, family structure, and societal fabric in modern British society -I can almost feel an empathy for the terrorists.

Everything we say about the terms of the Control Order are correct. Closed hearings, not allowed to see charges or evidence, can't have your own lawyer present, Home Sec can reimpose order even if Appeal Court says order is illegal. Nothing we show couldn't happen. ABSO legislation, (as we show), is currently being misused. There is nothing to stop CO legislation being used in teh way we show.

I had a rare experience of actually learning soemthing tonight and last night, I am a 4o-something acdemic and though that i had open minded views about Islam , partic its position on women, and the so call War on Terror but to your credit this drama challenged nealry all those views, it would not be an over-statement to say that I was both deeply moved and shocked by the programme but can only commend you on the work I would love you to come to Goldsmiths College, U of London where I work to talk about his but unilkely as I am sure you are an unfeasibly busy person . An outstanding and controversially intelligent piece of work and exceptional acting and wonderful score,

Peter, back on the subject of MI5 staffing, from my experience of the internal staffing types, I only ever came across white, middle to upper class British people working there. Do you know something I don't?

Britz,

This is just propaganda, and threats and intimidation in the electoral process.

So the program’s argument goes, if you don’t share our views and we can’t get our way through the ballet-box, you should expect your wives and children to be blown to smithereens.

Really, really enjoyed Britz. As a white christian, it was important for me to see things from the other side which Britz done beautifuly. I still don't agree with the killing of innocents, however i empathise with the muslim community who seem to be suffering in much the same way as the Irish did in 70's \ 80's Britain.

I understand why she did it in the story but I not convinced your 'average' suicide is so relatively unreligious?

I could be wrong?

Yawn, Yawn!!! Well acted, good story - really clichéd piece of terrorist propaganda at the end - been used by every one from Cromwell, the IRA,the sons of Gleandower to the Monster Raving Looney party - Christ even the Labour party used that one!! At the end of the day Thou shall not kill is pretty universal no matter how you dress it up - that goes for all sides as well. People of all sides and Gods really do need to get a grip

Omy...I reckon tomorrow British Muslims will definitely feel a bit more uncomfortable because I think after watching that us bristish non muslims will be even more wary and suspicious than usual after watching that. Just an honest answer to your question.
