I thought he wrote some amazing novels (The Adventures of Augie March, The Double, Ravelstein, More Die of Heartbreak, Herzog, Henderson the Rain King), a few very good novellas (The Actual, Seize the Day, The Victim) & some brilliant short-stories, particularly 'Something to Remember Me By' - which I think is one of the greatest short-stories written. Still he lived to a ripe old age! RIP
"See you on doomsday!"- Sadegh Hedayat's suicide note
I must admit I've only read Ravelstein but following his death I've resolved to read more. These great American writers are dropping like flies at the moment. The writer of my signature must feel a bit edgy.
After reading Slaughterhouse 5 I eventually found out where your sig comes from Husker. I've never read Bellow but I will take a note of the recommended short story and read it in the future.
