so, is it true, that if i convert on my death bed to christianity, then i'm in?
(a real conversion mind you, swalling all the nonsense and the like)
In which case, is it possible that Hitler, Stalin and Elvis could be there too?

yes, this is true, but its a bit of a risk, you might get run over by a bus and not have the chance. if you think thats a risk worth taking then a deathbed conversions a good idea, have lots of fun now and repent when youre old and past it.

hitler, elvis and stalin - wow, thats some band

I see. So what your god values above anything else, including how good a person you are or what your contribution to humanity is, is the fact that you believe he exists on the basis of no evidence whatsoever.

Why is gullibility more important than morality?

What's so terrific about believing something that it matters more than anything else?

How do you get into Heaven? Leather shorts, cut off t-shirt and a Freddie Mercury moustache...oh, you're not talking about the gay club in London are you? Ahem, just ignore me. Smile

"Without free speech no search for truth is possible... no discovery of truth is useful... Better a thousandfold abuse of free speech than denial of free speech. The abuse dies in a day, but the denial slays the life of the people, and entombs the hope of the race." - Charles Bradlaugh.

Are you some kind of arbiter of xian truth, do you have evidence that supports this or is this your opinion?

This view is not supported by all xians, so what makes your opinion more valid than, for example, the opinions of the Westborough Baptist Church.

Is it? What have Hitler & Stalin contributed to music? Besides, Elvis will be in Hell, everyone knows the devil has the best tunes.

Oh, that's easy, you see come the end days, God & the devil will have a big battle, using all the various souls they've collected over the years, thus God wants his (/hers/ its) army to be made up of wildly fanatical lunatics whose belief in her (etc) is unshakeable. Whereas the devil will have to make do with all athiests, agnostics and satanists, who will never be able to form a decent battle line and thus god will win.

(I'll leave the questions of why an omnipotent being needs anyone to fight battles for it; and why god couldn't just take all the souls to heaven and just defeat the devil by sheer weight of numbers to greater theological/ military minds than mine.)

So you are arguing that it is a safer bet to convert now.
Are you not aware that this is called Pascal's Wager?
The link makes explains the many cases against this flawed thinking.

That's not going to trick any deity worthy of the title.

What about Pascal's Wager are you not sure about?

On what basis is 'goodness' of xians measured?

Well, you've come to the right place to start stress testing what you believe.

I don't think I am. That's just a restatement of the same thing you agreed with in your first line.

Who keeps sending these clueless christians in? Is it some kind of Brownian motion or osmosis or something whereby every month another one pops through the membrane and then it's Ground Hog Day all over again? I wonder where they come from?

Play nicely with your new toy, now. At least this one doesn't (yet) seem as bad as some of the others.
