Would anyone agree that we need a sperate thread to discuss the more abstract issues of our society?
I dont think these issues should be misplaced within the "catch-all" forum of Culture.
I think these issues are partly to do with culture, religion and politics and news - so i don't think they belong in any of these types of forums, but deserves a forum all of its own.
I would be a supporter of yur idea Duncan Disorderly. I like it!

I agree, the only forum that conducts active debate is the News Forum; I for one would welcome a forum to discuss and debate issues of an intellectual nature outside the restraints of that which is considered newsworthy.

Great idea. Because The BBC website has one. I have to say C4's website is prettier than the BBC's but it hasn't got the quantity or the quality of content.(returning to the question of philosophy, morality and ethics)From a purely Utilitarian point of view I don't think that this website is doing anything to maximise the aggregate happiness of it's members.
