I can only answer the first two:

My parents are Catholics so I went to Catholic schools and attended Church until I was old enough to decide I didn't believe in any of it and stopped going. I'm 21 now and a firm atheist; I can't see me changing my mind just because I have children

The only way I would return to the Church is if it was necessary to get my kids into a good school: the faith schools near me tend to be the better schools. Sounds cynical but I'm just being honest

I would like my children to make their own religious choices: I'm happy to take them to Church and teach them about different religion so that when they are old enough they can decide for themselves. I would never push them one way or the other

1. Catholic Schooling, Catholic Priests, Monks and Bishops on Mothers side of family. Mother who rejected Catholicism experimented with various alternative faiths before ditching them, currently Agnostic. Uninterested(?) Church of England on Fathers side. Atheist Father mainly as far as I know through lack of interest/natural incredulity.
2. Agnostic.
3. Agnostic.
4. N/A.

Ok, looks like I've come a little late to the party, but:

1) What kind of religious teaching you received as a child?

Grew up in a Christian family - Sunday School, Church, CofE School - school assembly's (which were popular for flicking stuff, or pea shooting the back of someone's head, passing wind and seeing who cracked first (he who smelt it, dealt it... etc - still works even to this day)!

2) Where you were at (religion-wise), as a young adult (i.e. typically before having a family or settling down)

Made a commitment in my late teens, that transformed my life - had struggles and times of 'rebelling' - now, more committed than ever!

3) ditto, but when you were at the stage of having a family or settling down

Haven't got any children and divorced!

Education:

BA History
PGCE - Primary

Good questions though H - well done, for bringing some harmony and 'love' into the forum! Big Grin

1) what kind of religious teaching you received as a child:

Taken to church on a Sunday because it was the "middle class thing to do" - found it very tedious.

2) where you were at religion wise when you were a young adult (i.e. typically before having a family or settling down)

With brother and sisters rebelled against Mum and Dad by saying: Actually we think we should take this God stuff more seriously! Evangelical to charismatic but could never suppress rebellious liberal tendencies.

3) ditto, but when you were at the stage of having a family or settling down

Married a catholic. Faith now ecumenical, value church for community but not dependent on it for theology/doctrine. Completely re-appraised evangelical background and ditched rigid interpretation of scripture and substitutional theory of atonement. More convinced than ever that Christian faith is the best way to live and die but increasingly embarrassed by the way many churches try to put this across.

I went to Sunday School a couple of times with a friend when I was about 8-9 (literally, just a couple of times before geting bored and never going back. Other than that just your standard RE lessons at school.
