On rageh omaar himself, i have the utmost respect for him as he has been in to some of the most dangerous zones at the most dangerous times in his career and is a much braver person than i will evr be.
I feel as though, that in this programme (and rightly so given this journalistic oppurtunity) he has focussed on the roots closely associated to himself (as i would do).
Being Black and Somali, I have not got a clue what religious demonination if any he is, but somalia is a mixed country along outright relgious lines (ie chritian & Islam).
As he was growing up in the uk in the 70's and 80's any abuse he got was most likely to be about the colour of his skin (which i find disgusting).
Britain in recent times no longer has a "skin colour" problem it is now language and religion (both of which are man made).
He has approaced people of his country of origin(but failed to identify the divisions within the somali community itself), people who shared his same colour of skin(african, carribean and british blacks), Sub Continental peoples (hindu & muslim( the latter of which has a big somali following)), and the token british council estate white person.
My point is he has not addressed ALL the varying types of communities( whether it's religion, culture(the 2 are usually intertwined)) or nationality and there ARE very good examples of those who have.
I'm hoping the final episode will highlight the positives but it is seemingly a "recent" immigrants against a "recent recent" immigrants pogramme.
I want peace for all homo sapiens and come to think of it even other mammals and birds reptiles and fish. i aint no peace loving hippy but i want people to just be open and honest with each other, im sure no one has a hidden agenda (terrorists exempted) and we ALL need to get out of this fear of expressing ourselves openly mood, because there is a MASSIVE silent majority out there that just needs to start talking to each other off all relgions, races and nationalities but all are worried of the lunatics in EACH of there respective communities.
on a seprate note can i request that anybody who fills an application form for anything that asks your skin colour please tick the OTHER box then write homo-sapien( jobs included) that way nobody can ever be discriminated against.
peace out.

quote: Originally posted by **sexyoaks**: ella 111 you are a hypocrite!! you going on saying that people need to stop saying EE etc when your doing the same thing about asains, i know alot of INDIAN people who are doctors stock brokers and have alot more higher jobs, however i know about all the pakistanis who do claim benefit fraud and sit at home having children and driving taxis, i know alot of nurses and bankers who are caribbean and i know alot of white girls who have married africans after two months so they can get a passport!!
i agree that muslims dont really contribute towards the economy as they have to pray every few hours, i also think they intimidate women(probably the reson why their women are covered) however you think that muslims are a race, it is a religeon!!!
i think that the uk needs a point system definatly!! and the gov needs to sort the country and rules out.
and ella i think that people are upset about the poles etc i think its because it happened all of a sudden and in huge masses! people dont like change even though it may be a good one!
'sexyoaks' your post and apelative says it all about you. Therefore I should not waste my time with you then as you have not learned anything. I guess this is because I talked about my personal experiences and from what social-economic group the abuse came from. Basicaly you once again confirm all the above. Oh and by the way, have you noticed, that although not born and educated in this country, my written English is much better than yours, and probably I speak your language besides the other 7-8 languages I speak. The programme has done just the same and is specificaly analysing people coming from European countries but does not analyse specific groups coming from Africa or Asia for ex. If the programme was made by a white journalist analysing imigrants coming from African/Asian countries would have been called racist. So, whatever we do we cannot win here! The best is to do what our ancestors told us: move on, learn and teach our children to our best abilities. We do not have any anger in us, just the willingness to work and do our best! And probably we are the best! Time surely will tell.
